It`s an excellent video, Steve never knew just how special he was,, It did bring a tear to my eye, when it was mentioned he was a new Daddy and he did look so proud and happy R.I.P. Steve x
i have no doubt Steve would have gone on to have a rennaisance if he'd lived longer - the 90's and the britpop bands would have championed him and he would have had all the recognition that he deserved.
The white male Areatha Franklin!!! I saw Humble Pie at least 10 times & they always kicked ASS!!! RIP Stevie, I'm playing " Live At The Fillmore" right now!!! ROLL IT BABY!!!
Great interview. I only known Marriott from Humble Pie, but what a performer he was. He OWNED that stage. After reading all about him on Wikpidia, & looking up all his works, it's such a shame he never got the fame & money he deserved, but for him, I don't think it was ever about the fame or the money. The guy was just PURE GOLD & a rare talent. RIP
It is sobering to think how quickly great talent is forgotten by the media circus. When a few more of us have popped our clogs there won't be many around who remember what a genius this guy was and what he gave to us.
I don't know how to put into words how much I LOVE him - what a talent!!!!!!! Young people need to know about people like Steve and know what true music and talent is about.
@snookerronnie197 Because they are from The Golden Age of Rock Music the1960's-1970's.All the greatest bands where around at that time. There have been great band from before that time and since, but this period produced the greatest amount of enduring great bands.
spinal tap is inspired mostly in humble pie. the name sounds similar, their origins, the hard rock sound and the "subtle" lyrics, its all very similar
I can't believe how underated and overlooked Steve Marriott is. If for one second everyone just took their eye off the mainstream and had a look at some of this guys work, maybe people would start making decade lasting music again.
Say no more. Marriott had one of the best vocal talents of the 20th century.
@Redshift313 He fell asleep after drinking a bottle of Brandy in the old farmhouse, he lived in, his cigarette set fire to the armchair he fell asleep in.. Steve and fire!!!!!!
The great Steve Marriott certainly was a good interviewee...he could talk ten to the dozen. Not that much interview footage around with him in his prime, but this is excellent.
