Did you notice!?! No white above the knee on any of those gorgeous Morgans--not a dun or spotted horse in the whole video. Good god, what have they done to our Morgans who changed the breed standards in the 90's--I came back to find they opened the breed to every backyard breeder doing who-knows-what behind the barn! eeek!
I love Morgans. I really don't like how they're Arabian-izing the Morgan more and more now though. They were extremely beautiful the way they used to be. A lot of them just remind me of Arabs now. I like the stocky ones with the thick necks and muscular bodies. Great video!
@BarebackRider13 you should check out my video The "Original" Morgan Horse. It's completely filled with the "old" style morgan. I completely agree with you, the Morgan is becoming more and more refined, we're moving away from our original breed and conforming more to "refinement" when refinement isn't even a Morgan thing at all.
A wonderful way to display the Morgan Horse. Many years ago, way back in 1971 I once owned a Morgan gelding, Wynakee John, one of Upwey Ben Don's many gandsons.
Once again, a finely put together video showing the versatility of this phenominal breed and true companion.
I don't like that they're moving more toward a refined Morgan either. I much prefer the stocky work horse look with the fine ears, well muscled arched neck, strong back and legs. You should check out my vid called "Tribute to Olympus Way To Go" most handsome Morgan stallion I've ever laid eyes on. He's from the Brunk line.
@GoldenOakFarm Then get a Quarter Horse--you've just described the perfect Quarter Horse. Some of the stockier Morgans have terrible toplines--tails set too low they pass for a Quarter Horse. Your "Murphy" though was quite a looker and perfect topline--pure Morgan in every way.

I had a Morgan/Arabian cross -close-coupled, the best gaits, light and airy. He was borrowed as a polo pony at one point. Excellent cross.
