After Reagan, we were still strong and stable, but sustainability and equity died with Reagan (both the debt/GDP and wealth inequality rose thanks to his failed trickle-down policies). And that led to the instability and the weakness of the US today.

I know that 80% of the wealth is in the pockets of 1% of the population. This proves taxes on the rich are not high enough. Over the past 30 years taxes on the richest Americans have gone down, leaving a gap in government funding that's either filled by the working man, or goes unfilled. No amount of excuse making can change this fact. I only care about America - not worried about "jealously". If you gave a fuck about your nation you would feel the same way I do, but you are just greedy.

@156sbr I agree, up to a point. No "nanny-state" as far as supporting the abusers of the system who are just too lazy or too incompetent to upgrade their skills and get work, but I do believe that those who are genuinely unable to work due to a physical, mental or psychological disability should be looked after.
