@jackjack300263 The reason can be that You have bought a fake EasyCap which have inside SMI chipset - SMI chipset is not a genuine EasyCap chipset and it doesn't have at all any USB audio chip on that chipset.

DC60 supports 32bit Vista and there is also unofficial drivers for 64bit, but they are not fully compatible with 64bit Vista - for example there is not support for s-video.
There can be some missing or uncompatible video codec in Your Windows - to find it out test capturing in WMV and Avi formats. You can test capturing also with freewares as like: AmCAP, Deput, VirtualDub, Windows Movie Maker 2.1 and Golden Videos.
hey I have EasyCap but the settings where I believe I can change the Audio Quality is grey and shaded out. Its set as lowest quality. Is there any way of being able to change the settings where I can change the Audio Quality? "3- USB Audio Interface" has the Default format at "1 channel, 8 Bit, 8000 Hz (Lowest Quality)" I had easycap working before on Windows XP but since I have Windows 7 now the Audio has been terrible every since.

It is possible that You have bought a fake EasyCap, because the latest genuine DC60 is version 2.1c.
The most common reason for distorted audio is that You have adjusted too high level microphone volume.
Then it can be due to energy saving system of motherboard which distorts USB audio - it is known problem that AMD Cool 'n Quiet system makes problems in some Win7 computers.

It is typical problem that You get black bars or borders around the video and that due that there is several kind of video sources which have different resolution that You are using with Your capturing software. Many commercial software can handle that on the fly, but I recommend to use free VirtualDub which have great filters for removing those borders and resizing f.ex. to HD size 1280x720px even on the fly. That is the right 64bit driver for the basic EasyCap DC60, though that driver is unofficial and made by the private user and for example there is not support for s-video.

Oh - then it is a fake EasyCap with SMI chipset, which doesn't have USB audio at all. That a yellow yeild symbol thing means that there is some conflict against some other device or corrupted files and it can't work.
Ok - so it should be the latest version of installation CD of EasyCap DC60+, but if You have Windows 7, so those drivers inside that CD doesn't work properly and You should install the latest driver package for Empia chipset.

If Your EasyCap was hooked into USB port at the same when You looked that section, so that means that You have not installed properly drivers into Your computer. Now we must investigate if Your device is an original EasyCap DC60+ or the basic model DC60 or is Your device a fake product which have inside some other chipset than a genuine Philips SAA7113 (DC60) or Empia 2861 (DC60+). Tell me first what version is printed on the installation CD - v2.1c, v3.1B or v3.1C?
What are the names of the USB video driver and USB audio driver in the Device Manager - Windows have updated sometimes automatically totally wrong drivers from the internet...
There can be some corrupted file in Ulead or in drivers and reinstalling them may help.
Check from the Device Manager's Sound, video and game controllers that You have installed drivers properly and You should take those drivers also in use as a source in the capturing software settings as You can see in this tutorial vid.
You can connect for example Playstation 3 with Hdmi cable to TV and You should unplug that cable and reset console display settings if You want that signal goes via composite cable to the capture card.
Check that all contacts between cables, adapters and devices are tight enough. Are You sure that Your sending video device is sending SD signal and not HD signal - if You have a game console, so You should unplug all Hdmi devices and after that reset display settings of the console.
Or is it possible to do VGA-to-RCA to the splitters then to ps3/easycap? Something tells me I won't be able to capture the sound just from this since VGA only captures the picture?
You must always lead audio via RCA cable to the capture card. If You are using Hdmi corverter, so there is possible to take audio out to the capture card via RCA cable from that converter box. There is not Hdmi to RCA cables in the market, because converting from Hdmi to RCA needs more than a cable. If this monitor is Your so called extra playing monitor (not connect to Your computer), so You need a converting box - I have both Hdmi to RCA and VGA to RCA converting boxies in my Online Store: easycapexpertti.mybisi.com/products/converters
But I think You need also Hdmi splitter which have simultaneous signals in 2 channels if You are using Hdmi converter... send me an email.
Does Ulead Video Studio work much better on Windows 7 than on Vista? I find that on Vista when I edit it stalls every couple of minutes and I end up having to edit on my Windows XP
I have not seen any differencies between my Vista and Win7. I bet You have lack of power in Your computer - Vista needs more power than WinXP. Check that from Task Manager's (press ctrl+alt+del)
Performance tab - CPU Usage must be 5-50% during capturing and if it is more so try to stop all other
programs or buy more RAM and/or bigger processor.
Reinstall drivers. There can be a conflict against some other USB device as like webcam - if so You should unplug that another device and try to install drivers again.
The most common reason for distorted audio is that You have too high microphone volume in Windows settings - so You should lower it. Other: 1. Wrong driver 2. Corrupted driver or file in capture software - reinstall 3. Bad signal - check all cables and adapters and don't use any USB extension cable 4. Conflict against other USB device (f.ex. webcam) 5. Wrong or missing codecs - install FFDShow-codecs 6. Your comp is not compatible with Ulead - test AmCAP, Deput and VirtualDub.
If You want to remove those black borders and resize into HD size, so I recommend to use free VirtualDub for that. You can render video to HD size also with Ulead, but You can't remove those black bars with that software. Look at my sample vid: "How to remove black..." from my uploads and read there my tutorial text from "more info" link.
@rc4625 For better video quality: 1. Install FFDShow codecs to Your Windows 2. Use gold plated cables & adapters 3. Check that all contacts between devices, cables & adapters are tight enough 4. Do not use any extra USB cable - put EasyCap straight to the USB port 5. Switch off all other programs during capturing 6. Capture with 720x576px PAL, 720x480px NTSC. 7. You must have a powerful computer - check that CPU Usage is under 50% during capturing & if it goes over, so buy more RAM.

If You do not have a microphone in Your game console, so You can hook audio wires and microphone with splitter into computer's mic in port and use then mic in as a source in the settings of capturing software. You need first a normal 3.5mm Splitter Audio Plug Adapter and then You hook in another wire of that splitter Your mic and then You need to hook in another wire 2x RCA/3.5 Audio plug jack splitter which You hook audio wires of Your game console.
If You have a genuine EasyCap, so there should be either USB 2861 Device (DC60+) or STK1150 or STK1160 (DC60). Try to delete that wrong driver manually from the Device Manager's Sound, video and game controllers and reinstall then the drivers.

Install again drivers of EasyCap DC60+ and check that the names of the drivers really are these: USB 2861 Device for video and USB EMP Audio Device for audio.
With Ulead VS10 You must take in use a special menu from the Preferences - those 60Hz formats are not in the standard menu. With many other capturing softwares (f.ex. AmCAP) You can find those 60Hz formats from the standard menu if Your device supports them.

First You must have 60Hz video (as like Xbox games Halo3 or COD) if You are using these 60Hz formats as like PAL60 or NTSC-433 - try these both formats, because there has been many cases that only NTSC-433 works even if You live in the PAL area. Your monitor doesn't affect to this problem.

Audio does not work for me on 64bit Windows 7 ... I tried several different drivers but there is just no audio on my recordings. The cables are fine and connected right, as everything works fine on my 32bit Vista Laptop.
USB Audio Interface is for EasyCap DC60 (Philips SAA7113 chipset) and USB EMP Audio Device is for EasyCap DC60+ (Empia 2861 Device) - so I suppose You have that basic EasyCap DC60 and that USB Audio Interface should work also in Win7.

It is quite common that files are getting corrupted during installation and then reinstalling fix it many times.
Check from the Device Manager's Sound, Video and Game Controllers if Your drivers are older than 17/9/2009, because they are not working right with Win7. Download that 17/9/2009 version of driver package from my online store (link to it is in my Youtube channel) and there go to the site of EasyCap DC60+ v3.1B.

There is many copymakers in China for EasyCaps/EzCAPs and the cheapest one is always more likely also fake one. Besides that the parts inside can be totally different and the quality of the video and audio is worse than with a genuine product.
It is a big risk that You do not get what You want. Most of the sellers in Amazon have not ever used these devices itself, so they can't help You so much You may need if You have questions or You need better drivers or so on. Besides that most of the sellers in Amazon doesn't offer any kind of warranty for these devices and they do not send to You a tracking number for a delivery. There is many times damaged installation CDs, because they send these as a bulk packed etc.

You can use free capturing softwares as like VirtualDub, AmCAP, Deput 1.48 or Golden Videos until Your seller send You a new installation disk or download link for a CD image.

If You are asking from me so I would say VirtualDub is better than many commercial capturing and editing software, but it is not the best one if You are looking for the first software. So Deput, AmCAP and Golden Videos are more simple and they are easier to learn than VirtualDub.
Okay im currently using DeBut atm - a m8 of mine use's Pinnacle studio 12 to record his Easycap Dc60 gameplay in HD Widescreen. is Pinnacle studio 12 good with the Easycap Dc60+? and also on the Debut what Should i have the frame rate at to make it Widescreen For youtube (Example: Pal: 720x576)? and how to you change the MB size when its Recording? I have not time to teach video editing, but I can say that capture always with max resolution (720x576px) and I recommend You to use VirtualDub for removing black borders and resize it at the same time to HD size 1280x720px - look at my sample vid "How to remove black borders and...." from my Uploads and read a tutorial below it.

Tell me what is the name and the version date of the video driver - go to Device Manager and there Sound, Video and Game controllers and right click on the name of the Audio driver -> Properties/Driver
I check then if I have newer driver package to Your capture card.
That doesn't tell me enough - I need an exact name of the driver and full date (for example 17/9/2010). There is many models of EasyCaps which have different chipsets and many driver packages for them. There is also many fake products in the market and they have many times totally different chipset and so these original drivers doesn't work with these products. So it is important to me to now these details that I know then if I can help You.

There can be some missing or uncompatible video codec in Your Windows - to find it out test capturing in WMV and Avi formats. You can test capturing also with freewares as like: AmCAP, Deput, VirtualDub, Windows Movie Maker 2.1 and Golden Videos.

hey I have EasyCap but the settings where I believe I can change the Audio Quality is grey and shaded out. Its set as lowest quality. Is there any way of being able to change the settings where I can change the Audio Quality? "3- USB Audio Interface" has the Default format at "1 channel, 8 Bit, 8000 Hz (Lowest Quality)" I had easycap working before on Windows XP but since I have Windows 7 now the Audio has been terrible every since.

It is possible that You have bought a fake EasyCap, because the latest genuine DC60 is version 2.1c.
The most common reason for distorted audio is that You have adjusted too high level microphone volume.
Then it can be due to energy saving system of motherboard which distorts USB audio - it is known problem that AMD Cool 'n Quiet system makes problems in some Win7 computers.

It is typical problem that You get black bars or borders around the video and that due that there is several kind of video sources which have different resolution that You are using with Your capturing software. Many commercial software can handle that on the fly, but I recommend to use free VirtualDub which have great filters for removing those borders and resizing f.ex. to HD size 1280x720px even on the fly. That is the right 64bit driver for the basic EasyCap DC60, though that driver is unofficial and made by the private user and for example there is not support for s-video.

Oh - then it is a fake EasyCap with SMI chipset, which doesn't have USB audio at all. That a yellow yeild symbol thing means that there is some conflict against some other device or corrupted files and it can't work.

Ok - so it should be the latest version of installation CD of EasyCap DC60+, but if You have Windows 7, so those drivers inside that CD doesn't work properly and You should install the latest driver package for Empia chipset.

If Your EasyCap was hooked into USB port at the same when You looked that section, so that means that You have not installed properly drivers into Your computer. Now we must investigate if Your device is an original EasyCap DC60+ or the basic model DC60 or is Your device a fake product which have inside some other chipset than a genuine Philips SAA7113 (DC60) or Empia 2861 (DC60+). Tell me first what version is printed on the installation CD - v2.1c, v3.1B or v3.1C?

There can be some corrupted file in Ulead or in drivers and reinstalling them may help.
Check from the Device Manager's Sound, video and game controllers that You have installed drivers properly and You should take those drivers also in use as a source in the capturing software settings as You can see in this tutorial vid.
Test also freewares as like AmCAP and VirtualDub.

Check that all contacts between cables, adapters and devices are tight enough. Are You sure that Your sending video device is sending SD signal and not HD signal - if You have a game console, so You should unplug all Hdmi devices and after that reset display settings of the console.

You must always lead audio via RCA cable to the capture card. If You are using Hdmi corverter, so there is possible to take audio out to the capture card via RCA cable from that converter box. I just pulled the trigger and bought an Easycap DC60+ from your website. I have a question regarding the setup. Here's my situation: I realized my 23" monitor only has HDMI and VGA output, now can I buy a HDMI-to-RCA cable so that it would plug into the one of the Y-splitters then to the Easycap/PS3? There is not Hdmi to RCA cables in the market, because converting from Hdmi to RCA needs more than a cable. If this monitor is Your so called extra playing monitor (not connect to Your computer), so You need a converting box - I have both Hdmi to RCA and VGA to RCA converting boxies in my Online Store: easycapexpertti.mybisi.com/products/converters
But I think You need also Hdmi splitter which have simultaneous signals in 2 channels if You are using Hdmi converter... send me an email.

Does Ulead Video Studio work much better on Windows 7 than on Vista? I find that on Vista when I edit it stalls every couple of minutes and I end up having to edit on my Windows XP

I have not seen any differencies between my Vista and Win7. I bet You have lack of power in Your computer - Vista needs more power than WinXP. Check that from Task Manager's (press ctrl+alt+del)
Performance tab - CPU Usage must be 5-50% during capturing and if it is more so try to stop all other
programs or buy more RAM and/or bigger processor.

The most common reason for distorted audio is that You have too high microphone volume in Windows settings - so You should lower it. Other: 1. Wrong driver 2. Corrupted driver or file in capture software - reinstall 3. Bad signal - check all cables and adapters and don't use any USB extension cable 4. Conflict against other USB device (f.ex. webcam) 5. Wrong or missing codecs - install FFDShow-codecs 6. Your comp is not compatible with Ulead - test AmCAP, Deput and VirtualDub.

If You want to remove those black borders and resize into HD size, so I recommend to use free VirtualDub for that. You can render video to HD size also with Ulead, but You can't remove those black bars with that software. Ei siinä mitään erikoisia kytkentöjä tarvita - hommaat vain 3kpl RCA-jakajia ja 2kpl RCA-kaapeleita, niin saat piuhat jaettua sekä telkulle että EasyCapille. Youtubissa löytyy monta ohjevideoa näille kytkennöille, mutta tuskin tarvitset mitään sen kummempaa ohjetta - pelkkä maalaisjärki riittää.
MW2 tarvitsee toimiakseen joko PAL60-formaatin tai NTSC-433-formaatin ja EasyCap pitää olla tätä parempaa mallia eli Empia-piirisarjalla varustettu DC60+ v3.1B.

- tarkista, ettei Xboxiin ole kytkettynä mitään laitetta komponentti- tai Hdmi-kaapelilla ja asetuksista olet ottanut käyttöön komposiittiasetuksen (SD) eikä HD-asetusta.

If You do not have a microphone in Your game console, so You can hook audio wires and microphone with splitter into computer's mic in port and use then mic in as a source in the settings of capturing software. You need first a normal 3.5mm Splitter Audio Plug Adapter and then You hook in another wire of that splitter Your mic and then You need to hook in another wire 2x RCA/3.5 Audio plug jack splitter which You hook audio wires of Your game console.

If You have a genuine EasyCap, so there should be either USB 2861 Device (DC60+) or STK1150 or STK1160 (DC60). Try to delete that wrong driver manually from the Device Manager's Sound, video and game controllers and reinstall then the drivers.

I think it is the same device - an original basic EasyCap is called DC60 v2.1c and it have Philips SAA7113 chipset. There is not 64bit drivers in the market for this chipset which would work with s-video.

Install again drivers of EasyCap DC60+ and check that the names of the drivers really are these: USB 2861 Device for video and USB EMP Audio Device for audio.
With Ulead VS10 You must take in use a special menu from the Preferences - those 60Hz formats are not in the standard menu. With many other capturing softwares (f.ex. AmCAP) You can find those 60Hz formats from the standard menu if Your device supports them.

First You must have 60Hz video (as like Xbox games Halo3 or COD) if You are using these 60Hz formats as like PAL60 or NTSC-433 - try these both formats, because there has been many cases that only NTSC-433 works even if You live in the PAL area. Your monitor doesn't affect to this problem.

USB Audio Interface is for EasyCap DC60 (Philips SAA7113 chipset) and USB EMP Audio Device is for EasyCap DC60+ (Empia 2861 Device) - so I suppose You have that basic EasyCap DC60 and that USB Audio Interface should work also in Win7.

It is quite common that files are getting corrupted during installation and then reinstalling fix it many times.
Check from the Device Manager's Sound, Video and Game Controllers if Your drivers are older than 17/9/2009, because they are not working right with Win7. Download that 17/9/2009 version of driver package from my online store (link to it is in my Youtube channel) and there go to the site of EasyCap DC60+ v3.1B.

Fake product can look like an original, but quality is in most case very bad and it can go broken easily. Besides that the components inside the main unit can be totally different and the quality of the video and audio is much worse than in genuine device.

@EasycapExpertti I'm running Windows 7 64Bit, and i had to do a way different installation since it doesn't support my Windows 7 64Bit, Heres the video i used for a tutorial: youtube.com/watch?v=bnWOU3fAOUw , and i just got my easycap for about 2 or 3 days already so how can it be corrupted already..

An original EasyCap DC60 v2.1C can't cost under 10USD so it is sure You have bought a fake product.

EasyCap DC60+ v3.1B supports both 32bit and 64bit Windows 7. Look at my sample vids from my uploads which I have made recently with this device and 64bit Win7.

You didn't purchased that from my store? Hopefully You get a genuine EasyCap DC60+ with warranty as like I am selling in my Store. There is many copymakers in China for EasyCaps/EzCAPs and the cheapest one is always more likely also fake one. It is a big risk that You do not get what You want. Most of the sellers in Amazon have not ever used these devices itself, so they can't help You so much You may need if You have questions or You need better drivers or so on. Besides that most of the sellers in Amazon doesn't offer any kind of warranty for these devices and they do not send to You a tracking number for a delivery. There is many times damaged installation CDs, because they send these as a bulk packed etc.

I have those files in my server, but I can give download links only to them who have bought that device from my Online Store and so I can control it better. I have here CD images and also separately that Ulead capturing software and driver packages.

You can use free capturing softwares as like VirtualDub, AmCAP, Deput 1.48 or Golden Videos until Your seller send You a new installation disk or download link for a CD image.

If You are asking from me so I would say VirtualDub is better than many commercial capturing and editing software, but it is not the best one if You are looking for the first software. So Deput, AmCAP and Golden Videos are more simple and they are easier to learn than VirtualDub.

Okay im currently using DeBut atm - a m8 of mine use's Pinnacle studio 12 to record his Easycap Dc60 gameplay in HD Widescreen. is Pinnacle studio 12 good with the Easycap Dc60+? and also on the Debut what Should i have the frame rate at to make it Widescreen For youtube (Example: Pal: 720x576)? and how to you change the MB size when its Recording? Pinnacle Stydio 12 is a very good software.
I have not time to teach video editing, but I can say that capture always with max resolution (720x576px) and I recommend You to use VirtualDub for removing black borders and resize it at the same time to HD size 1280x720px - look at my sample vid "How to remove black borders and...." from my Uploads and read a tutorial below it.

Tell me what is the name and the version date of the video driver - go to Device Manager and there Sound, Video and Game controllers and right click on the name of the Audio driver -> Properties/Driver
I check then if I have newer driver package to Your capture card.

That doesn't tell me enough - I need an exact name of the driver and full date (for example 17/9/2010). There is many models of EasyCaps which have different chipsets and many driver packages for them. There is also many fake products in the market and they have many times totally different chipset and so these original drivers doesn't work with these products. So it is important to me to now these details that I know then if I can help You.

Ok - thank You. So You have EasyCap DC60+ v3.1B or EzCAP108 or EzCAP116.
I have 2 newer driver package in my online store. Go to my Youtube channel where You can find a link to my Store. In my Store You must go to the site of the EasyCap DC60+ v3.1B and scroll down a little bit that page and You will find the download links. I recommend to try first driver package which is dated 17/9/2009.
