my 08 stage 2 is putting out 250whp 360ft/lb torque to the wheels with the mods of invidia catless downpipe, spt exhaust (believe it or not), aem cai, perrin recirc blow off valve, ecu flash and boost at 18.7psi. and a friend of mine has a 08 sti with the same mods except a different blow off valve and perrin exhaust and he's putting 320whp 400ft/lbs torque...i love these ecu's :-)

Am I seeing the thermometer right? Only 40-something degrees in your shop... That could be part of the Recirc valve problem, you know how plastic gets when it's cold.

actually the 08's are a bit more powerful and the 09's are going to have about 40 more HP and the engine sits lower, so it has a bit better handling... still doesn't look as good as the old ones.

I feel bad for you guys driving passat's lol. For me it's great, im a young driver so it's a pretty soft, forgiving platform to start racing with... and remember it's the same skeleton as the '09.

One of the things I love over the older WRX's (ive driven an '04 so one of the 2.0L's but not the 06-7 2.5's) is the conplete lack of lag. On the backroads I drive every single day, I have full power coming out of every corner... and i short-shift, almost never pasing 4500 rpm. So for me it fits :)

The WRX does not have a Blow-Off Valve. They use Bypass Valves which is actually a bit more efficent than a BOV because it recirculates the air intstead of blowing it out. Adding an aftermarket one will not improve the performance at all, and actually reduce the reliability as mass airflow censor will detect the air released by a BOV causing the engine to run rich for a few seconds.

08 wrx is cheaper and there are alot of mods for it already, If you are going to buy aftermarket parts for it get the WRX. If you are going to keep it bone stock go for the legacy as it is slightly faster than the WRX stock.
