@BigLundi - The sole purpose and existence of Satan is to ensure that mankind does not enter the gates of heaven on the day of judgement (Armageddon, End of Days, The big bang, Anti-Christ, etc).

The ironic thing about this is that because curses have a psycosymatic component (work on people who belive they work) then this guru probably has succeded in cursing people. Therefore probably belives in his majic and is genuinely confused as to why it doesn't work. Although if he belives it is going to kill the othe man shouldn't he be charged with atempted murder?

Its typical of a lot of cons (including various weight loss programs or money making 'jobs') that it keeps getting more rediciouls untill you won't comply. Then its your fault for not playing along. But even if this did work... what would be the point. If you knew it was going to kill you if he was doing that you would punch him in the face.

@TasmiaVictoria Not exactly. There are clues to whether or not a job interview went well. For example, if I get the job, I know it went well. And if I get rudely thrown out of the room, I know it didn't go well. As for the soulmate... well, I don't believe in a soul. But for other "immaterial" things (e.g. team spirit), you can still believe in them if they have *observable* effects. Your funny magic has NO observable effects whatsoever and THEREFORE is superstition.

But then tell me, what should be the best way to decide what to believe and what not? Clearly you don't believe EVERYTHING? So you must have a way to sort things out. Do you believe in ghosts? Do you believe in unicorns? In fairies? If yes, then why? If not, then why not? Most people just follow their gut feeling, but we rationalists know that you can't trust your guts.
