  • For medical purposes I support marijuana reform. For depression and anorexia I support patients right to use marijuana. For stress relief I support marijuana usage. For recreational purposes I support marijuana use.

To bad drug companies would loose profits. To bad the alcohol industry (which is responsible for indirectly killing so many people) is lobbying the government to protect their profits.

Drug and alcohol companies know they can't compete with this plant. This innocent plant.

  • ALL OF YOU FINE FELLOW BELIEVERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE DOCUMENTARY ""THE UNION: THE BUSINESS BEHIND GETTING HIGH"" YOU NEED TO WATCH IT, PROMOTE IT, PASS IT ON, TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW AND THRU INTERNET. THE TRUTH SHALL SET US ALL FREE. THAT DOC. SHOWS MIN BY MIN THAT NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE AND IT SHOULD BE LEGALIZED! WATCH IT! ITS UP TO US PEOPLE! THE TIMES ARE NEARING!

  • @XMrCXify Also, you should watch grass: The History of Marijuana

  • Leaglize it!!! its a plant....never once in history anyone has ever died from mary jane...but tobacco&alcohol kill ppl yet it is legal!!

  • amazin video

  • Maine recently decided medical marijuana dispensaries should pay the state $15,000 per year for a license. The cost to license a pharmacy in Maine if $200.

Good job NORML - when it comes to exploiting the sick and dying, you're "the man".

  • @palmspringsbum ummm theyre saying legalize it compltely not just for medical reasons.

  • @palmspringsbum realy

  • @palmspringsbum They're taking baby steps, because they have to. Yes the dispensary businesses that will bring in millions per year have to pay $15,000 in taxes for their license and $50 tax on each ounce sold, but that's infinitely better than being arrested and having your future robbed from you.

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

  • What an exciting time in history, as the great American empire slowly leaves its Dark Ages behind. What an arduous process!

  • @ANDROLOMA Exiting the Dark Ages, and entering mass-stupidity and death. A great improvement.

  • @Cyanarchy no the dark ages are wahts filled with stupudity and death, weed does not kill people moron, but alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs and caffeine do, theyre all legal.

  • Alcohol is by far more dangerous. And they sell it in every gas station and FAMILY supermarket across the nation. Our nation is soooo fucked up man! Overgrow the government!

  • @luvmypit83 word.

  • I love being norml.

  • It's about pure natural medicine yet favorite food like cigarrette. Nicotine harms peaple's health but this medicine is not. then why the such medicine should not be legalized rather than those of harmful tobaccos?

  • @zakard114 respect good comment

  • Time to Party! 3/24/2010 7:15 PM PST a few minutes ago California Secretary of State officially certified The Regulate, Control, and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010 for inclusion of the Nov 2 ballot.

No way to stop California now!

  • A mocskos kurva zsidó anyátokat! Mivel minden szar és elnyomó anyag a mocskos zsidók műve, ez is az. Rohadjatok meg ti nyavajás állatok! Egy kábszeres lakmározzon a zsíros testetekből!

  • ???

A kannabisz Kozep-Del-Azsiabol szarmazik, es i.e. 3000 evvel mar fogyasztottak. Semmi koze a zsidokhoz, vagy a zsido vallashoz.

Amugy mit jelent, hogy "elnyomo anyag"?

  • anyone got actual footage of this appearing on Times Square? I believe it, but I also wanna see it! :D

  • Legalize!

  • Realize = compromise = legalize!!!

Three easy steps, yet why havent we?

    = Federal government

  • Drug Dealers: Here's another closed minded topic! Not ALL drug dealers and organized people a BAD like the media and politics have lead you to believe. Many are very educated and upstanding citizens of this Land of Opportunity and have been forced to hide instead of provide. They don't scam, steal or intimidate with weapons. In fact there are ALOT of Great People out there that have put a lot of effort into helping others mentally, physically, and financially. Legalization will stop bloodshed!

  • I dont like this add. It exploits Mary Jane and opens the eyes of Money Hungry Political Pimps that already waste our tax money. Legalization of "Medical Marijuana" was to be a stepping stone toward Decriminalization so that Billions arent being wasted every year on enforcing laws on people that are meaningless. I hope those that the "people" have empowered to represent "us" come up with a square deal cause once you hand the ball to the Government you dont get it back. For Us, By Us! Green Union

  • while it is important to mention the taxes on marijuana sales we should not forget the hundreds of millions saved in less overtime paid to cops, attorneys, & rehab centers. end the war on marijuana now!

  • I'm proud to grow up during the re-legalization of cannabis. I will have the pleasure of telling my future children of how dim-witted our politicians were on the issue for 70+ years. Then the people started making the decisions.

  • "Make the most of the Indian hemp seed, and sow it everywhere." ~George Washington, The writings of George Washington Vol 33, page 270 (Library of Congress), 1794

  • Love the ad, but when people see the "Billions in taxes" part, it'll turn them off to the idea.

  • @ChildofBodom89 Totally agree, they should change it to "Billions in revenue" or something. But then again I would hope most people would realize the only way you'd be taxed is if you actually bought marijuana.

  • Change we can believe in.

  • Like it takes a mathmatician to figure this out!!!! I've done the math and it's sad our country is in such bad economic's. All the taxes from legalised pot could bring us out of our recession/depression.

  • This is remarkable. Truly fantastic! :D

  • Proud to be the 100th 5 star!

  • I'm sorry but I can't think of a sin-tis or word that describes how amazing this is.

I just want to thank everyone for jointing in a historical movement. Peace James

  • It would be better if it said 45 billion in taxes! instead of just billions.

  • 77 billion

  • 77 Billion Saved ! Yes!

  • LEGALIZE IT!

  • Peter Tosh would be so proud.

  • CBS has now decided that they will run a pro-marijuana ad; is it this one?

  • @NewChimps That's exactly what I'm trying to find out, if you hear anything let me know.

  • yeah it is!!

  • With the lack of evidence supporting the foundation of marijuana prohibition in the first place, I wonder when people will start seeing the beneficial properties of this plant. Is the U.S. government relying on peoples' lack of education on the matter to keep it all "under wraps". The only "wraps I like are Zig Zags. LEEEGGGAAALLLIIIZZZE!!!

  • touche

  • And this whole "dont ask dont tell" thing with pot we have going on is silly. Meanwhile my coworkers get drunk every weekend yet i could never bring up that i occasionally enjoy burning a doobie

  • people must be retarded who rejected this... NORML GO! ;D

  • Whats so harmful about this ad?

  • It says "Pot is Good" in Popular Media

Thats a big threat to the state

  • Fuckin' signed.

  • It amazes me with all the scientific evidence showing Cannabis is a very very safe recreational alternative compared to alcohol that people still fail to see the colossal waste of money and lives that go into retaining this failed war on personal choice.

  • @geezgsr Indeed but its just cause the majority of people are brain washed sheep that don't know any better. Then there are those that have seen the facts and still rather go against it just cause its a moral issue with them. One day in the future people will look back at these times and say wow people in that time were morons.

  • Signed

  • people are way to biased now adays I mean Norml is working on promoting something extremely positive not only for the individuals who use for medical or recreational they are simply proposing something that would help out everyone in the us financially bringing in Millions even billions in taxes ..I say give it a try

Literally money does grow on trees

  • too political to say the opinion that might start controversy over a totalitarian government...? Yeah i guess that is 2 political. changing the world and all

  • yeah, norml! keep knocking on the doors!

  • Signed the petition at change (dot) org - You should too!

  • Since when is there something wrong with political advocacy? Every time we have an election we're all inundated with ads advocating political views from all across the spectrum. I find it hard to believe that 'political advocacy' is the real reason they don't want to show this ad. My guess is that they're concerned some important people will be offended by the ad. As another poster commented, CBS can't stop this discussion. I hope they reconsider. Not accepting this ad could make CBS look bad.

  • Thank you for signing the petition "Demand CBS Reverse Decision Declaring Pro-Marijuana Ad Too Political" <<< DAMN RIGHT

  • CBS is definitely the LOSER network.

  • Major networks may not want to air this now, but soon enough when the Nov. 2010 election is being campaigned in California, it's going to be on our ballot. And the TV stations are going to have to run ads about it, both pro and con.... This is going to get really interesting. I believe there will soon be lots of commercials about weed on the TV. I think I like it. That's what I call progress... Thank God for NORML or we'd all still be in the dark ages.

If it is true that NORML has grown up since Nixon and this video appears to make that representation, then it is imperative for every NORML person to grow up too. We can unite this movement. We can be free as banks.

  • Short, simple, and too the point.

It's dumb how they wont play this commercial because its "too political" but they show a pro-life commercial on the Superbowl.
