  • Keenya?

  • Im studyng MclUhan on youtube cause its so much entertained than the boring books...we are definitely on the tribe era.

  • If he would still live, do you think he would have facebook? Can you imagine?¡

  • How you got to teach a course in anything is totally amazing.

Oh, wait. You're Marshall McLuhan. Sorry.

  • One of our greatests tinkers of 20th century.

What I love about Mc luhan beside his cleverness and predictions, is that he never demonizes the medias and never sees technological improvement as a threat.Aware of the conscequences of electric era on modern mankind and earth he always manage to comprehend to prevent.

  • Awesome

  • Thumbs up if theindustryexposed (dot) com brought you here

  • I feel what was discussed was commonsense and the same thing repeated several times over...

  • Thank you Professor McLuhan i have learned so much ... you were way ahead of your time ... Happy birthday!

  • Happy 100th birthday Marshall McLuhan.

  • Perfect introduction to Globalist philosophy.

  • 1:03 its Brian Griffin!! xD

  • noooooo, it ends in the most interesting part!

  • i was reading the book 'Food of the Gods' by Terence Mckenna when i was travelling through Europe and he mentioned Mcluhans quote in his book and its absolutely true man. Europe has become a global village. Its not an explotion. Its an implotion. people (when they live in this western world) don't KNOW how bored, ignorant and stupid they are if they think 'The City Is AWESome'! Its like a cancer. A growth that needs to be solved fast.

  • @texasB666 The whole point of 'The Global Village' is that it involves the entire Globe, i.e. planet Earth

  • turn off

    tune out

    drop dead

    watch?v=FmgKwJhodZw

  • The comments below show that people still don't understand McLuhan. They understand their own misunderstandings of what they cannot understand by that which is to be understood.

  • ha mcluhan comes across as a bit of twat in this until u listen to what he's saying

  • @mspubquiz83

Amazed that you could comprehend even a single sentence of what McLuhan is saying mate, he sounds well above your mental level

  • @ultramagellan yes he is well beyond my mental level. not yours though i take it. lol

  • 13abbit, are you a 10 or 600 year old piece of shit. THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT. No clue without a map, compass or open an mind....too bad. How much did you spend on your education. Gonna take advantage of the marks as soon as open your business. Of course your are.

  • Obviously, McLuhan has strong opinions about the philosophy of education; and he had a feel for trends. Adolescence was out of style by 1920, when McLuhan was 9 years old. He is less of a prophet, than he was a man who was paying attention. He was influenced by many prominent thinkers in his lifetime, whom he sometimes acknowledges. McLuhan is not as important as the situation we are now facing: the end of the road. That was an easy prediction...

  • 8:44 minutes of being OWNED

  • What is the name of the man who talks about the book at the beginning. He quotes"

"Think for a minute of how one reads. One sits Alone. One eyes scan a line at a time. The authors ideas come to you one at a time off of the page. It’s a private experience. I’ts not a community or family activity. You do this alone."

If someone could please tell me that would be great as I am planning to use this quote in a university dissertation and a full name is essential. Also what year was this produced?

  • "The next medium, whatever it is - it may be the extension of consciousness - will include television as its content, not as its environment, and will transform television into an art form. A computer as a research and communication instrument could enhance retrieval, obsolesce mass library organization, retrieve the individual's encyclopedic function and flip into a private line to speedily tailored data of a saleable kind".

    Marshall McLuhan, 1962

  • Genius.

  • before his time

  • @drkthms1 Nope, McLuhan arrived right on time. Like Pythagoras, Chuang Tzu, Leonardo da Vinci, Mary Wollstonecraft, Nikola Tesla, Peter Kropotkin, Gandhi, Simone Weil, Martin Luther King Jr., R. Buckminster Fuller.... the list could go on and on! The world needs the "anachronistic" types to better Ourstory!

It's like Gandalf said " A wizard is never late... nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to"

  • @SynerJetics awesome list!

  • @nickkotsify The Story goes on and on ;-)

  • @SynerJetics

This is amazing! A 'princess gets married in england', SO RELEVANT!

  • @BuildBabylon what exactly is amazing?

  • @SynerJetics

    Rotary pay phone.

  • True and prophetic. Where's the rest?
