I dont think it is "British" Training. I think more than anything it was a vocal trend. There are tons of british trained baritones that are superb. Bryn Terfel, Gerald Finley, Simon Keenlyside, Chris Maltman, and thats just naming a few.
And please dont argue that some of these singers English, I know that, but they trained in the UK.

they shouldn't be... it is British training. The young group of American baritones are the ones to watch (and hear).
