  • they broke up so its not like theyre hiding them

  • how come victory records hides these bands!

  • I'm so freakin sad I never got to see Spitalfield live :(

  • This song makes me want to move to California!

  • i have all their music they are fucken amazing just had bad luck staying together and i'll agree i miss music like this

  • Brings back memories

  • Oh god this song is beautiful <3

  • i miss this old spitalfield :(

  • Man, this is sophomore year high school for me 2003 :)

  • I miss TJ

  • They should have kept going. I miss this music...

  • The days when trucker hats, and baggy cargo shorts were the best...now its girl pants and makeup for men.

  • these guys had so much heart, its like audible sunshine

  • these guys had heart, and the sweet part is that easily heard.

  • this is one video that i think takes away from the song =/

    love the song though

  • @MsMKSquared what?! this is hilarious! one of my favs

  • I saw this like five years ago on a Victory Records sampler I got at Warped Tour. I believe it also had "Masterpiece" by Bayside on it. That DVD changed my life for the better!

  • awesome!

  • Mark Hoppus Jazz Bass :D yeah Im sad, SO ?!

  • This is better than I thought it would be, the gap between pop-punk and emo just like Midtown. Interesting

  • @halifuckinfan Spitalfield is not Emo, just a Pop Rock band.

  • @heyho007 "the gap" as I said.

  • @halifuckinfan Sorry, I misread "the gap" you were talking about.

  • @heyho007 Actually, Spitalfield fits the bill for emo pretty well. Take the guitar riffs from a Promise Ring song and at smooth Jimmy Eat World style vocals and you've got a Spitalfield song. Emo doesn't have to be dark n edgey bands who were eyeliner, it's basically just indie rock mixed with melodic hardcore with expressive, confessional lyrics.

  • Lowder, you are a rock star and a hell of a right fielder!!!! Dance Bitch!!!

  • The start of this video is too similar to The Anniversary.

  • agreed

  • they look so young here.....

  • HOLY CRAP!! Fave band ever and I totally remember getting their CD back when Victory records was still a good label. Only amazing ones still left there are Streetlight Manifesto and Bayside.. but this song and Fairweather Friend are amazing!

  • what ever happened to this band?

  • @mattchoo1 i actually know this! I went to one of their last shows in the uk just before they split and asked Mark why they were splitting up. He says it was because they had interest from bigger labels but because they were signed by Victory Records they couldn't go anywhere with it and Vict Rec didn't want to let the bigger labels have them so they decided instead of continuing to stay with a smaller label they'd split up. Mark has gone solo since.

  • @pink1stars They just got back together though, like few weeks ago already. They played a reunion show here in Chicago.

  • who was their bassist in remember right now?

  • I always pronounced it "spYtalfield" is it really spitalfield? that sounds ugly haha

  • spitial field man awsome music i remeber seeing this video a few years back onb my victory records dvd wen taking back sunday was still signed to them oh i miss those days

  • goood times....this is 7th grade all over again

  • great videooo :)

  • geeze, they just don't make music like this anymore. Miss these guys. Their lyrics are superb!

  • YoumeAtsix haha

  • One of the band members has a face that reminds me of Fernando Torres.

  • Wow, this brings back memories from 5 or so years ago.

  • lol yeah totally man all about jtv, thats where i heard this first.

  • This. I haven't listened to these guys is foreeeeever.

  • pedo bears!! lol

  • saludos desde lima Peru

  • ahaha i liked this band , years ago

    haha but now

im more into Mathcore, and deathcore, experimental too haha n.n its weird

  • man ive always wanted to wear an animal suit and play drums

  • Oh, what, like that cadburys advert with the Gorilla playing to Phil cpllins?

  • Dosent get much better than this!!!!

  • Mark is doing his solo thing now. I met him a few months ago. : ]

  • nice

  • I definitely think Spitalfield were very underrated. Despite my music taste moving on, I still appreciate it... get back together!

  • Wow, this was the kind of music I used to listen to when I was in 8th grade (currently a sophomore) my music taste has really matured..it's weird. I'm more into indie, experimental, ambient stuff :o

  • Thats funny, I started listening to these guys when they where once considered Indie... that was 7 years ago.

This makes me feel old, I just graduated College...

Even if this is called Pop Punk, it use to be what the scene was about.

Bands like the Atari's, MXPX, NOFX, Rancid, Old TBS where so epic.

  • It changed. You are not mature yet.

  • Spitalfield Is the best thing that ever happened to this kind of music!

  • this band was so underrated...that whole chi town scene four, five, six years ago was just blowing up bands (fall out boy, academy is, june, the audition, etc)

  • takes me back...still hilarious even though I've watched this video a million times.

  • i know.this takes me back.

  • LOL so old-school, but I love it; it's hilarious :D

  • lmao fall out boy? they are a bunch of sellouts. Their old music was good, now they are just about the money instead of the music. By the way spitalfield even broke up is still more of a band than fall out boy.

  • Comment removed

  • lol, tons of bands should i name them for you.

  • sounds like it.

  • love the third video!!!

  • The best music ever........Way better than fall out boy and academy is......

  • Well at least I don't anagram my bands...

Listen to "Take This To Your Grave" and compare it to anything afterwards, and tell me money and what the record label tells you doesn't affect your music.

Also, look around at the fans at those concerts, I can't hear a single dude in that crowd. Just 15 year old girls.

And this is coming from a diehard fan of this entire GENRE for about 12 years now.

  • I totally agree man-- that scene was based on DIY, friendship, and an actual love for music. I mean, the huge impact that major record labels had on bands is ridiculous. Take a look at what happened to all the bands on Drive Thru records when the Geffen split happened.

Take a look at Taking Back Sunday. Tell All Your Friends was a major influence on most of the pop punk bands today but if you look at their lineup now, Adam Lazzarra is practically the only original member since then.

  • Compare Yellowcard's One For The Kids to whatever nonsense they're doing now.

I could go on and on about bands from that specific scene that may not have necessarily sold out, but definitely don't stand for the same things they once did.

if you knew anything about The Starting Line, you'd know that they got fucking screwed by Geffen and Virgin.

and finally, just watch the video for Fall Out Boy's Dead on Arrival and tell me you don't believe what MATTYSAYS posted.

  • they are good but not better, you fail.

  • WHAT! THIS VIDEO IS THE SHIT!

  • Good Song......but not more =)

  • they are very good

  • You mean the chorus?

  • yep sorry. but u knew wut i meant haha

  • i like that the song title is a reference to Jack Kerouac

  • nice song

  • dang, i love this band! :) they should have more music out! :)

  • god i miss them.

  • I was way more sad when they broke up than when my uncle died. I am dead serious.

  • That's a horrible thing to say!!!! omg, what is wrong with you!?

  • I'm not human.

  • obviously not

  • therefore, if you happen to die I won't care either.

  • what happened to music like this

  • @RMPalm2000 seriously, i wonder what these guys are up to these days..

  • @josephmanners They are all doing their own things now. Mark Rose is still very active with music and touring, and he plays a lot of small acoustic gigs in Chicago. He's on facebook, and a really cool guy. You should look him up!

  • hahaha
