when harry corbett presented the sooty show, britain was a great place to live. you could leave your doors open, kids could play safely in the street and football hooliganism was virtually unknown.
britain's decline can be traced directly to the time when matthew corbett took over.
Harry Corbett was great! I saw him do a Sooty and Sweep show in Liverpool in the late 1960s. I think it was at the Liverpool Playhouse. The place was packed with kids, all having a marvellous time.
It was a documentary type programme all about childrens TV aired years ago.
The text was part of the programme.
I dont have any more sooty (I wish I had) but there were also clips from Pogles Wood, Flowerpot Men, Woodentops, Pinky and Perky, Andy Pandy as well as the original Right Said Fred video and the Mexican Hat Dance.
I saw these two on Bournemouth Pier in the 60s as a child. I loved Sooty!

@strangeperson64 You can't blame the presenter of a children's television show for the change of a whole country, idiot.

You're quite right. After doing a bit more research I've decided It is all Ray Alan and Lord Charles' fault.

@strangeperson64 Nice trollin', dude. But Sooty isn't all that widely viewed, so keep it to stuff like Rebecca Black and Justin Bieber.

great sense of humour, "dude". are you sure sooty isn't a bit over your head?

@strangeperson64 Why are you talking about the decline of Britain on a children's television programme?

@TheMoonPower
it's a little known concept called "saying something you don't actually mean for humorous effect". check chicknsw's comment below. he got it.

Sorry. I meant formal instead of final.

My mum used to watch Sooty when Harry presented it but she found him rather final so she preferred Sooty when Matthew presented it.
