I am Chinese, but I have to say the Japanese fighter was better. Controlled footwork, strong kicks, great defense. Some of the kicks he landed Chinese fighter didn't even see it coming.

The reason the sanda kid pushed him is because in the sanda scoring system, if the opponent goes out of bounds u get points for a takedown

Anyways the karate guy apparently doesn't know very much grappling because even if he has the single leg he just ends up falling over x)

Pushing and pulling is a skill in Kung Fu that most other martial arts don't even practice. Tai Chi have drills that specializes in pushing, it is called.... yup... "Pushing Hands"! Pushing and pulling are a lot harder than you'd think.

Sanda is a full contact art that use skills from all kinda of Chinese arts, including Tai Chi.

Maybe it's just me, but what I saw in this clip was Western kickboxing done under karate-esque rules. I didn't see too much in the way of the "Kyokushin Karate" or the "Shaolin Quan" that was claimed.

Well I take shao lin martial arts and my master tells me that all the things we learn isn't something we should use constantly or to use at all in actual fighting situation. Its really mostly to keep flexible, fast, and quick on reaction. Besides most of the fancy stuff you learn in any martial arts requires great reaction to even use in an actual fight. So in most sparring matches you see will most likely end up looking like a kick boxing match.
