You definatly could have got alot more for your money if you game. Of coarse for 2K you could have a quad core with sli or crossfire. but for 1500 you could have got a ASUS G73JW-XT1 with a gtx 460. or a ASUS G73JH-X3 with 5870 mobility, if you prefer ati. I just think for 2k you could have had a much more powerful setup
@4g63fourlife I agree but this was almost 3 years ago. I just bought a $500 laptop that actually has better specs in some areas than this one but 3 years ago, all this was brand new top of the line..
haha Man I always be seeing people with these big ass laptops, my boy Tyrone carry around a Toshiba around campus...and that thing is huge...My definition of something Mobile is a Sony Vaio EA black. But what ever man, nice setup you don't don't have a main rig you can go back and forth on?
I've been using a Microsoft Habu mouse for over a year now, still best mouse ive ever bought, nice sensitivity, feels good and never had any wrist pain, its still in very good shape even though i use it for over 6 houres a day (informatics). No need for some shitty WoW mouse with over 9000 buttons or anything uber overpriced, this thing gets the job done.
@SuperNova20202020 cant compare to a desktop, but if your willing to pay....you could get a laptop that can be just as good as any serious gamer....plus the big factor is being portable...like i love bringing my laptop and gear over to a friends place just in case.
I see what you mean, but what is capable with some desktops isnt physically possible to fit into a laptop. Of course special gaming laptops will do the job, but its still hard to play Crysis at full specs even on the best of gaming laptops.
not really some laptops are really huge....mines alone is 17 inch...with a nividia 270 gtx...some laptops can run 2 graphic cards like i found one with 2, 290 gtx in it....and with the new i& processors..i mean its pricy, but its definitly able to play any game
@SuperNova20202020 I have a laptop and what I realized (1.6GHz x1 processor) is that the performance degrades horribly as I stay on it for hours. I think for the rest of my life I'll go for desktops....it seems the fans will mitigate much of the heating problems when the processor gets hot in the laptop.
Alienware. People instantly think its brilliant because of the price tag and fancy lights. What you pay for an Alienware PC/laptop you could build a computer with twice the specs!
that cloth just happened to be on my table when i went to record this. ;p thats actually my desk back home. i use it everywhere so its on the move a lot but i agree on keeping it elevated.
yo man, do you ever get overheating on that laptop after playing for a bit. with my acer 6920(geforce9500m gs) i get overheatinage after 5 mins of l4d.... :( ?
Hey Bainbridge NY this is Essential Eugene. There is a new video card out. It's the Radeon Sapphire card. It's a 4870 X2. It has 2 cores, 3,900 MHz, and other features. It's powerful than mine. I have the NVIDIA 9600 GT GeForce graphics card. I can play any game now.
I've been looking around for a gaming rig and the Gateway is the most attractive for the price so far. The Dell Studio 17 and Studio XPS 16 look really awesome (again, because of the keyboard), but the card in the Gateway is miles ahead. Oh well...you're still rocking this rig, so it must be great. :)
hey, was just wondering if you were using the same drivers from the tritton website. last time, i tried to use them, they never worked properly. my old plantronics are about to die, so i dusted my trittons off and about to try and get them working.
nice, im jealous :p yea, right after i bought this laptop [maybe a week after] gateway came out with their new fx seires and i was like, crap ha . but i still love this laptop its good to see powerful computers at a fair price
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
gaming on a labtop..haha..what can you play? Halo? Come on..man...WTF? What a waste of money..you could have built something better..hell just my processor cost as much as that pos. =D
Now THAT is a nice gaming setup. Everything looks pretty good. I usually do not like laptops for gaming but this doesn't seem bad at all. How much were those headphones?
8800 huh? I don't believe for a second you can run crysis on "high" (i'm assuming ALL settings to high) with "little lag issue."
You might be able to skate by on medium settings. I'd bet all the coin in my pocket though that on all high, you and lag would be butt buddies. you should do a video of that and prove me wrong.
i guarantee you i can run it on high. dont worry.. it amazed me to. i do only deal with little to no lag and ill try to put up a vid when i go home for thanksgiving break. and i agree, the habu is really a great mouse.
sadly they dont work because the only audio jack on the 360 is the one on the controller. but check out the new mlg headsets. they're exspensive but sick nasty.
unreal sucks so much, its like an arcade in the 70's hella lame, nice laptop tho i have the Gateway fx desktop im getting the laptop as well pretty soon!
Hey I got a question, how big is an average college dorm room? Ill be heading off to college in like 2 years and I don't want to leave all my a/v gear behind. A couple of the colleges I am considering are close to my house anyway, so I guess I could live at home and save some money plus I don't want to have to worry about my stuff getting stolen or anything like that, what do ya think?
it depends. my dorm room its a nice size. i dont have an hdtv but alot of guys around me have prett big hdtv's in their rooms. my roommate and i have a 360 a ps3 and a wii in our room and its a nice setup so it shouldnt be too bad. plus like where i am you only live in a dorm for your first year anyway. but yea, i hope this helped. comment any other questions you might have.
well it depends. like here at WVU if you live within 50 mile of the campus you can be a commuter so you can either live in an apartment or anywhere off campus. but youll prob. want to live in an apartment or something away from home.. ya kno, for some personal freedom :P
it's a speedpad which basically means it's a small programable keyboard. it has 15 keys plus a thumb button, d-pad/joystick, and a scrool wheel with middle click. it comes with a cd that you install that lets you program every key, and macros, and lets you save the key settings into diffrent profiles. it's nice because you can program it for diffrent games so everythings easier to reach and more comfortable and somewhat faster ,hence speedpad. ill put up a vid. if you want. hope this helps.
