First of all: There is no such Version of this song online, so it has to be his playing.

Of course he couldn´t play this whole melody on his own (drums?), so the sound you hear is recorded in some recording studio with his band/friends (otherwise it wouldn´t sound so nice). He just took his playing on video and covered it with the audio from the studio. Since he´s not a metronome, it´s possible, some of the video might look delayed :P.

Of course it's fake, everybody with some sense can hear it or see it, i mean, there's just one guy strumming on a cheap third-rate guitar and it's completely out of sync. If the rest of the 'band' is playback, the gutiar is playback too, the bad distortion (i guess made to sound it more genuine) doesn't help. Fake....and a bad one. at that.
