  • very cute

  • Awe he is so talented

  • wow

  • Love seeing other deaf dogs doing tricks =D Everyone is always amazed that my deaf aussie puppy knows sign tricks. I need to find my camera so I can film Haven's routine.

  • how strange, we too have taken on a deaf dalmatian pup and she had the same digestive problem. They thought she had a shunt in her liver and tested her for numerous other problems and in the end she has been put on an easily digestable dry food and is getting fatter by the day.......Any advise on training her, we have the basics and she follows our older dal Blue.....

  • She's just adorable!!!! I've a deaf dalmatian aswell and reciently made a vid showing some of her tricks. Take a look.

  • no, she is very tiny. I think with her size and deafness she must have been the runt?

  • That makes sense.

The reason why I asked is because we used to have the same 'problem' with a deaf dalmatian we rescued. It took the methods of someone else with 40yrs' rescue experience--and a few months carrying it out--to 'resolve' the matter, albeit not completely.

Thank you. I admire your dalmatian's temperament.

  • What was the issue you had with your dalmatian?

Thank you, she is a very good dog! :)

  • The dalmatian we rescued was visibly undersized and underweight--she was ceaselessly active and had a voracious appetite, but could gain neither weight nor muscle. Her stomach area was almost hollow, one could see the outline of her ribs, and there was no muscle along her chest and back area, nor on her neck and legs.

Under the methods suggested to us, she went from 19kg (42.2lbs) to 27kg (60lbs) after a few months, and has kept the latter weight and muscle structure since.

  • On another matter: how did you teach her the rings and basketball tricks and how long did it take?

Did she already show an interest in the two toys even before you trained her, or did you start her on them?

  • How much does she weigh?

  • She weighs about 40lbs.

  • Is she of standard weight and size for a female dalmatian?

  • Thanks for the idea, i'm always looking for new tricks to teach my deaf dog, this is a good one!! Why do you need a vibrating collar though? My dog is trained to watch me and check in with me regularly to see what I want, more reliable than a collar cos then it doesn't matter where we are or what we are doing, I know he will watch me for directions. Great vid though!

  • She does watch me like a hawk, but if she is in the yard or upstairs I can call her down by paging her. If it's dark I can use a laser light as she is also trained to follow the light, she also knows over 30 signs.

  • WOW shes great!

  • yay!! she got that last one! thats incredible. my dog would never do anything like that. you have a lot of patience :) AND a very smart pup!

  • Thanks, she learns very quickly!
