Hands down ninja gaiden for the nes !! That game was tight the music ,game play,and the cinematic scenes were off the hook not to mention its one the hardest to beat !!
@352cisco98 couldnt agree with you more. SMB3 was just really fun tho play. never thought it was a "hard" game. Ninja Gaiden 1,2,3 were epic games that took a while to beat.

Really? Contra and Super Mario 3 being extremely hard games? You must not have played many NES games. Play Zelda 2, or Conquest of the Crystal Palace. Hardest NES game ever? Probably Battletoads. Hell, Mario 2 was harder than 3. It was also considered by some to be a disappointment, which is why 3 was such a big deal. Both were fun tho.

@funsiZe20 Ya tbh world 7 was a serious pain in the ass, but really the difficulty of SMB3 was nothing compared to the Ninja Gaiden series, or Battle Toads. Another difficult game you should check out if you haven't already, is Kid Icarus. That game used to kick my but when I was a kid lol.
Good list, mine is filled with underrated games :P 10) Metal Storm 9) Startropics 8) Ninja Gaiden 2 7) Ninja Turtles (The original, cause I like harder games) 6) Journey to Silius 5) Monster Party 4) Batman 3) Darkwing Duck 2) Little Samson 1) Little Nemo: The Dream Maker I do like the more mainstream games like mario, zelda, metroid, and megaman, but I find myself sitting infront of my tv for hours playing LIttle Samson or the dream maker, whereas zelda and mario, not so much.
This list is MUCH better than the original version. Good job.
Also, have you ever played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project? Its the same style as Turtles II, but has a lot more variety. Its actually my favorite beat-em-up of all time. You should check it out.
Crystalis was a great game, but I don't think its top ten material.
If I had made this list, StarTropics II: Zoda's Revenge would have made it on for sure, but I can't expect everyone to have played that fairly obscure game. The same could be said of Crystalis.
