  • not really a fan of the post 80 line up,but have to say a great single, was certainly worthy of being a massive hit

  • @themachman19691 What line up cus phil and girls are same

  • @Nutronic Ware-Oakey-Marsh

  • @themachman19691 I apologise because I have only ever known it to be Susan Ann Sulley, Philip Oakey, Joanne Catherall. Mainly cus they went to my parents wedding before they were too famous and also stayed with my aunt in Sheffield up until my cousin was born. In fact Phil had his hand on my aunts belly until contractions started. I also see you have Gary Numans eye as your avatar. Good choice.

  • @Nutronic thanks,oh yes,me numan eye,big fan im afraid,lol.

  • This tune shoulda been a hit. I only became aware of it after seeing them live, and then buying Secrets. No tour this Xmas, hope they do one next December

  • Amazing song I love it goin on my ipod

  • This band are absolutely amazing live. Definitely one of the best bands ive ever seen and this song was played beautifully

  • Very good song with good lyrics (something that people overlook, I guess).

  • chorus would be better

  • very awesome indeed 8-)

  • Just saw them in Kansas City. You won't be disappointed great concert. They even played seconds.

  • Boston Sept. 22 -- HUMAN LEAGUE IS COMING and I WILL BE THERE !!!

  • One of their best singles, ever. This deserved much more airplay! Human League GOLD.

  • i love how She Wants Revenge totally ripped them off

  • good song trom the credo album, love the human league and have done for years, good to see there still going strong and making good songs!

  • @wendy050766

It's from Secrets! One of their best. : )

  • his voice sounds like that of the guy from she wants revenge

  • @xXstorietimeXx you got that backwards ... this guy has been around since 1980

  • Great song, fantastic sound!!!

  • Top album. Loved all the tracks from it. And they still look so great.

  • Top album. Loved all the tracks from it.

  • Produced by Toy...and the League....Great Combination!!

  • Ah The Human League.......dodgy lyrics, sung like a wooden actor but good fun all the same.

  • FYI-He was Joanne's first proper lover

hence they had an over 10 year love affair

lucky lady and vice versa as she is a very

    beautiful glamourous lady as well

  • One of my all time favorite bands

always will be the early 80's uk music

was the best and always will be

even though this track is from "01"

they will always be the best -Love 'em!

  • @cianjg It was popular but the record company bombed about the time this was released so it never acheived its full potential. Apparently limited availablilty in the shops saw strong sales early in the initial week, but then it fell out of the charts due to lack of availablility.

  • LOVE YOU SUSAN AND JOANNE

  • LOVE YOU SUSAN AND JOANNE

  • Just saw them live about 3 hours ago - and this was on their playlist - So happy! :D

  • I still don't understand how this wasn't a lot more popular !

  • My all time favorite band. "Secrets" was a very underrated cd. Can't wait for the new cd in 2011!!! New single "Night People" out 11/22/2011!

  • i love this song good beat

  • looking good knockin on 50 now lol

  • I've loved this band since I discovered them in '82 and I've got most, if not all of their stuff. Great song, great band!

  • It was back then! Its a great song. Most of the songs back then were all te oression brought it out.

  • man the one whit short black hair is my new godess i need to know she is :(

  • manthe babe whit short black hair ...just wow shes hot

  • Been a fan since I was a kid (now 22 years old) thought I'd never see them live. Then Evolution in Newcastle came along and my prayers were answered. Reminds me of awesome times. HUMAN LEAGUE!!!!!!

  • This colapsed due to the weak Label. Repromote and rerelease .

Check my clip of "sound of the crowd" when it first crashed the UK Charts.

  • This is just a great song! Absolute beauty.

  • Old skool Human League..nice. Great job, guys.

  • Sounds good!

  • the only problem Phil had was he should have let the girls go an go back to the all male MK1 league - they as a whole would have been revered like kraftwerk (the girls, god love em, could always have come on for certain songs)

  • @JezJacko.. Musically that would be a great idea. But most people dont even know there was Human League before the Dare album. This is why among hard core electronic music fans Human League is not given as much respect as Kraftwerk.. Some people would say the real Human League, after the split, has always been Heaven 17. In fact Oakey never performed live and couldn't play any instruments when the Human League (Heaven 17's Ware & Marsh) first hired him.

  • oh yeah 318 Louisiana repin

  • This song sounded great when he sang it live. I saw them in Anahiem, CA in 2003 and they were awesome! Met them afterwords and Phil was great! Super sweet and very cool with me while we chatted. And he looked just as great in person as he did in this video. I told him that too! :)

  • human did good in the charts

  • This came out in 2001, new songs coming by the end of this year

  • OMG!When happened this?? What year?? Me encanta!!!!

  • Most of music today is pre-packaged contrived bullshit

    just awful

Human League and other british new waver;s set the stage

and were so lucky to be the pioneers of this awesome sound

lived thru the 80's and enjoyed and experienced this great time

and musical era I believe that will never ever be replicated or duplicated

ever again-feel so bad for my kids for the crap music that is available to

them today if you can even call it that-

  • These youngs kids that are coming up now doesn't know a thing about the 80s music. The 80s has way better music groups than the current ones now.I always love Human Leangue and any other 80s music groups and you never get bored by listening to them.I am 30yr old and i know what real music sounds like power to the 80s.

  • I hate to say this because I know alot of people love Jo & Sue, but Phil could do without them. He's a genius and his vocals are more than enough. I'm not saying they are horrible because "Dare" was a fantastic album that couldnt have been done without them, but they didn't bring anything to this album (Secrets) that I liked..

  • a beautiful song

  • electro forever Arcadia,Louisiana

  • still going wow,, this what real band can do,

  • This song is awesome! I can't decide which one I like better, Don't you want me or this!

  • As usual they were a way ahead to their time in looks and music itself. Timeless music.

  • Teenagers cannot relate to it?

Jesus, music INDUSTRY is a major time bull shit!!!

  • Apparently radio 1 refused to playlist this because Phil was too old and teenagers wouldnt relate to this.

I'm 16, I feel that this song does sound very 'retro' I cant 'relate' to it but that doesnt mean that its not awesome!

It could have at least become a dance/electro hit!

  • Wow! he is STILL "HOT" even after 20 or so years when I fell in love with him and his music in the 80's:)!!! LOVE "Human League"!!! XO

  • Fresh Music !!

  • WITAM Z POLSKI...uwielbiam tą muzykę,pozdrawiam słuchaczy..

  • Annu mirabilis 2001: On the synth pop side, the legends release comeback albums (Depeche Mode, New Order and Human League). On the garage/punk side, amazing revivalist debuts (Strokes, White Stripes, BRMC). Together they set the stage for an exciting decade of indie, new pop and new wave revival!

  • Considering the treatment the business showed them as of late, I think they deserve knighthoods for services to music... for sticking to the business they and their fans still love.

  • amazin song considering its not from 80s!

  • this song is much better than the creep which is in the charts nowadays for example rihannna or beyonce

but it flopped because it didnt get the attention it deserved

  • Too right the charts system is rubbish just a 40yrs old music executives idea of what music schoolgirls will buy! sad really sad! the best sink and the crap rises to the top !

  • the sóng was not successful right ?

  • Sadly yes... probably one of the most longest standing acts from the UK ever... and Radio 1 decided to give them no air-play whatsoever as they were not "in" at the time...

Now look at the situation... Radio 1 complains about the manufactured tripe that THEY themselves promoted back then!

    Shame on them!

  • @kittenkilla86

If Heaven 17 were never formed then the world would never of had THE best album "DARE"...

Octopus is also another GREAT Human League album from 1995 ...

  • a cracking tiune played loud

  • wonderful little tracks. it's such a shame it's taken nine long years to get them signed to another record label. i'm sure the new album will be a cracker!

  • The Human League signed with UK's recording label Wall of Sound. New material (songs, album, videos, etc.) expected in 2010!!!

  • all i ever wanted ;-)

  • Phil knows the job

  • very, very awesome!

  • This is awesome. Human League has always been way ahead of their time.

  • @panther0567 todays so-called tecnho poppy bands should bow their heads in their presence

  • @podiumguy100 Well said -- very well said!

  • KAPITALNE!!

  • Se hizo pelon x que se le caia el cabello

  • Still a great track! Even if it's obviously composed for the dancefloor it shows Phils strong side in writing tracks: His ear for great melodies!

  • The Highlight of this years V Fest pure and simple

  • Absolutley fantastic, saw them live at Vfest this weekend, loved them back in the day, love them now. :-)

  • i thought that phil was the original singer. it was two of the keyboard players who left in the early 80's, one went on to form heaven 17.

when they left, the band was about to go on tour in europe, the surviving members had to rework the songs, thats when phil spotted the girls in a sheffield nightclub and asked them to join the band as backing singers for the tour. he had to get permission from thier parents because they were still at school

  • The lead singer,is his name Phil,looks nice with the make-up.The lipstick,eyeshadow,kohl.Cute

  • If he is wearing lipstick, eyeshadow, etc, its only enough to bring out facial expressions much like actors.

  • I would marry him tomorrow if he asked me.

  • Omg Phil Oakey is a total legend :)

  • marry me susan. Or jo. don't care. either one. Still hot as lava!!!!

  • tell me which one you don't marry, i'll marry her and can we swap each month for weekends.i know your type and it's ok if you watch but no heckling.

  • damn i like this song. addictive as hell.

  • Yep

  • this track and the cd it came from should have been much bigger than it was. IMHO, a true return to form. I remember picking up the cd while on holiday in Spain and it never left the cd player for the whole two weks.

  • So nice to hear a song of The Human League made in 2001!!!! I still prefer from the beginning 'till Dare!

  • best band ever

  • So true.

  • The girl's are beautiful both Susan and Joanne

    I friggin love this song

circa 2001 they still got the magic touch

    I love Human League

They make me wanna get up and dance

  • i love them still!

  • miam the one whit the black hair wow .....anyone know who she is????

  • Joanne Catherall is her name.. your gonna be disapointed though :P

  • thats his wife

  • That's who's wife???

  • No Joanne (dark hair) was his Philip's Girlfreind 1981-1991. they never married. Joanne is now married to someone else.

  • This Is So Ahead of It's Time... Alot Of Music In 2009 Sounds Like This And This Came Out In 2000

  • Yeah, a lot of music is starting to sound so 80's now (synthpop).

  • cor, what year is this? My dad told me theyre still together! wow.

  • 2001 - from the album 'Secrets'

  • he looks very hot for his age!!

    and the song is amazing!!

  • This is a catchy song. Can't help from watching the video almost every night. LOL

  • This song SHOULD and could be a big hit even today. They should re-release it......Are you reading, Phil?

  • Agreed, and they should also re-release the album it's from - 'Secrets'. A truly great album denied of its true potential because of the record label, Papillon, going into liquidation around the time of 'Secrets' release with subsequent lack of promotion. Most people I've played 'Secrets' to can't believe it went so unnoticed. It was pop music's loss, but thankfully copies of it can still be found. Seek it out and you will find the Human League magic in abundance. :-)

  • You are so right, it's a brilliant album. Anyone who likes this song and hasn't heard the album should get a copy NOW. I guarantee if you like this song you'll love that album.

  • @boywondfw what do you mean, "even today"? this song isn't ancient or anything, it came out in 2001...

  • @zetsusama23 9 YEARS AGO

  • @eletricmayham OH MY GOD A WHOLE NINE YEARS!!! believe me, they haven't grown in popularity since 2001, as unfortunate as that is. that said, they're better known as an 80s group anyways, and for some reason, those songs don't seem ancient to anyone. 2001 WASN'T, in fact, ages ago. unless you're like, eight or something, i don't see any point to your argument that this song came out nine years ago- that's not forever.

  • @zetsusama23 IM 15 AND THEY ARE POPULAR STILL

  • @eletricmayham dude what's with all the caps? haha, are you trying to kid yourself? i mean, they've gotta be one of my top three favorite bands, but none of my friends- or their parents- have ever even heard of them. i'm fourteen. unless you live in the U.K. or something. then i can't really be sure of their popularity. i imagine it would be higher.

  • @zetsusama23 well there not a one hit wonder

  • @eletricmayham yeah they actually are xD. in the states, anyways. you have some grammar problems, too. thanks for shutting the caps off, though.

(if you don't believe me about the one-hit wonder thing, show me their other songs that hit it to the top of the charts in the usa. like, i want proof.)

  • @zetsusama23 dont you want me topping the billboard hot 100 in the us

  • @eletricmayham ...that's ONE HIT. this wasn't a hit lol. not in the us anyways. so as far as you're telling me, and as far as i've ever been concerned, they're a one-hit wonder.

  • @zetsusama23 heart like a wheel reached # 32 in the u.s billboard hot 100

  • @zetsusama23 tell me when # 31 in the u.s charts

  • @eletricmayham thats all ive got

  • @eletricmayham hm. that's not all that high to be totally recognized. but. okay, three-ish hits is alright. that's still not very popular, though. not now, anyways. i wouldn't say "popular still", those are all older songs. they were popular at one time, maybe, but not now, so don't go saying that they're still popular.

  • @zetsusama23 ok

  • @zetsusama23 they may not be popular by mainstream terms today but they have a hardcore fanbase..

  • @acrowwing and so do a lot of WONDERFUL underground techno bands. no disrespect, i mean mainstream, haha. i think my original argument got lost somehow, besides, i was saying that nine years ago wasn't ages ago, so, technically, there's no need to republish this song ALREADY; i was responding to boywondfw's comment, and someone else started arguing with me... so.

  • @zetsusama23 i see

  • @acrowwing I...AM PART OF THE HARDCORE FANBASE. Why? Because Human League is awesome and so is everything 80s and New Wave.

  • @boywondfw I totally agree, but with all this AGEGISM it won't happen and i love The Human League

  • This song rocks, it perfectly fits the electro pop Britney/Timbaland/Ladytron/Lady Gaga sound of 2009. The human league are amazing. Can't wait for some new stuff and DO PROMOTION!

  • Phil is still as hot as ever and his voice is amaaaaaaazing! Cool video too, thanks for posting!

  • And from the lad perspective, Joanne and Susan look fabulous too!

  • Susanne is a 40 something goddess!!!

  • ...jojo,poradne naslapany kousek, starsi,ale porad hodne dobri !!!

  • these chicks are a little freaky but i dig the song XD

  • WoW this is hot...and the vid is amazing

  • They still sound amazing. Great video.

  • such a shame this was not such a big hit

  • Beautiful use of dichromactic lighting and textures! Very entertaining, a fun video.

  • Just goes to show how Phil really can sing when someone (evidently) lights a fire under his ass. He was also good vocally in "Human."

  • God save the League !!!

  • this is great photographicly.

    go humans.

  • I love this song! back in 2001 when it came out VH1 played it on their "then and now" show preceeded by love action. They fit together perfectly even though there is 20 years between them.

  • amazing song

  • love phil. always had such a crsuh on him.

  • Phil still has a great voice. I always liked this band. Glad to see they are still together.

  • New wave still alive and well!

  • i wonder whos the babe with the black air

  • Joanne Catherall. And I agree with you.

  • ty for the info

  • yeh shes hot.

  • They've been true to themselves, and it's great that they're still going!

  • I like this video .. human league is the best!!!

  • The "thumping techno backbeat" is a bit cheesy, but Phil sounds lovely.

  • yeah phil has a good voice and always has.

  • It wasnt a hit because UK national BBC radio refused to play list it. They didnt think a band of three 40 year olds was 'down with the kids'

  • lol this song rules :p

  • BBC radio is crap, you want a better selection of music from all different bands then go over to independent radio.

  • That`s the world we live in. However, quality always prevails. German/Dutch singer Heesters is still live performing at age 104 !

  • This is really good!

  • Fortunately, the magic is still there in their voices but the music is a anemic reflection of their early 80's stuff.

  • good song, i like the human league :)

  • wow,this is fu!!!!! great,really!

i heard it in a dj-set and all go crazy...wow!

  • he lost his hair. Many men do at his age its not anything weird. LOL

  • saw them in cork last year, wasnt a fan, AM NOW... They were fantastic!!

  • what happened to his hair?!

  • Not a bad song!

  • who's playing the music? phil?

  • this as from an album called `secrets and its not the vest song by.

  • love this song

  • susan's still has it

  • amazing
