That was some snowstorm this winter! I have a son up in the Portland area, so I kept in close contact while all of that was going on. I remember back about 30 years ago there was a major ice storm that ravaged the Portland area. The whole city almost came to a complete standstill. The apartments I was living in used heating oil, and they ran out. No heat for about 3 days because the oil truck couldn't get to us. Burrrrrrrr!
Great video, I didn't record because my brother didn't let me use his camera, but yeah, this is the worst storm for Portland since the 1960's, where I grew up in Baker City, it snowed like this all the time.
yeah snow is cool. but thunderstorms is my favorite type of weather, and it usually takes until April before we start having them, especially the severe ones.
Thats why we get along so well. I LOVE thunderstorms! They're my favorite type of weather as well. I miss the spring and summer thunderstorms and tornadoes we get in Ohio. California is DEVOID of any severe weather, except the ridiculous heat we get in the summertime. If that heat were humid, and we weren't in a basin, we'd get some very strong, severe weather every summer. God how I miss the skies getting dark, winds picking up, the lighning strikes, the booming thunder. I miss it all!
My area had almost 2 feet of snow so i was trapped in my house for about 6 days

Did he tell you about the low temperatures? I think it was the 16th or 17th, my area was around 10 degrees F. wind chills made it go near 0 degrees!

severe thunderstorm warnings and flash flood warnings occasionally go off in southern california, but not as much as anywhere else.
florida's occasional tornado is more frequent than thunderstorms in California! CA is all about wildfires and mudslides, they have that crap a lot.
