Why? Because yes, Marcus is a total badass, however in the halo trilogy, master chief is portrayed as a GOD. That may be an overstatement but it is true. Throughout the entire of the halo Arc, master chief has single handedly destroyed two HUGE weapons, marcus is really just killing a bunch of locusts (which really are no match for even a hunter OR a those strong brutes with the gravity hammer) and really throughout the series nothing really changes.

First off He is hopped up on roids, so he didn't gain any ability by himself, secondly he has a sheild, and a suit of metal that enables him to pick up heavy shit. And the A.I is only to enchance his reflexes but he makes his own choices and has great leadership skills The Mjolnir mark VI armor does not enchance his strenght or speed. It only gives him an overshield due to the superior weapons of the covenant tech. Also yes he did get steroids, bone replacements and other surgery but the pain and training was more real then marcus could ever handle.

@RDA000 And chief wears 1000 pound armor. I doubt that Marcus' low tech weapons can really defeat him. MAster chief is a master of war, and has been fighting for decades. He has killed millions of ovenant, and im pretty sure taht an elite can match Marcus's power, since elites are 8 feet tall and very,very strong. If chief kills elittes in a regular basis, i doubt marcus can really win. Chief might get hurt, but tahts all.

Fighting only, I'd say that Master Chief would win, just because he's hiding behind a plasma shield and has plasma weapons... Well marcus could then have the lancer's chainsaw and the torque bow, instant-kill.
But for badassry, marcus wins easily. I mean, he's not hiding behind a million-dollar armor that has a personnal shield, he doesn't have plasma weaponry, doesn't spam grenades when he has to reload, hell, he focuses so much in his reloading that his weapons does adsitional dammage.

You can give great example's in where Marcus shows his bad ass side, but there are also pretty good examples that shows how great Chief is, and shows that anything that goes against him shall not leave unscathed. Chieeef has probably twice as much battle experince than marucs, and even if chief didnt have his fancy armor and injections, his training alone, ever since he was a boy, shall guide him to vicotry

Has a spartan laser, a flamethrower aswell, energy sword with super heated plasma technology, and many other weapons which are 500 years in advantage of other weapons in gears of war. Master chief is a lone wolves but if it would be a team battle then he would ask the elites and the UNSC forces. And he doesnt use covenant weps like that, the energy sword actually has a fail safe, the only reason its in the games is for gameplay elements. He can't lift 66 tons, Think about lifting a scarab.His force punch isnt that high, he almost got beat by The arbiter in hand to hand combat. With the suit on

@ClusiveC Actually a common spartan 2 can run up to 34 MPH, kelly ran up to 36 MPH. Master chief once ran towards 60 MPH in the novel fall of reach but broke its achillies tendon.
In the novel First strike master chief lifts a scorpion tank which has a mass of 66 ton. A scarab has a mass of 3,439 ton. Master chief never fought thel 'vadam he met him while they were captured by gravemind. Even tho a common elite is as strong as a spartan 2 so it would be possible for the arbiter to win.

I know the facts im just saying, in a battle vs another super soldier, he would have some trouble winning. those facts about 66 tons and a high force punch are minor factors in a real fight. And no, kelly runs at bursts of something like 38 or 39, cant remember.

@ClusiveC You mean the one in halo legends and one of the novels? That was a sword fight and it was a different arbiter. Elites have a better knowlegde in sword fighting. Once again brutes have a very hard and thick skin and are also physsically compared with spartan 2's so thats also a possibility.
I don't think those are minor factors when he gives marcus a good punch between his eyes.
