@Flightkid9 false. The air is sucked in through the vent next to the USB jacks. The air is blown out at the rear with the video/audio, ethernet and HDMI jacks. The vent at the top doesn't suck air in or blow it out.

There are already coolers in the ps3 being blown to the processors, you don't need more PUSHED into the chassis. Air couldn't circulate in that matter, it needs a PULL, therefore an intercooler is designed to give that EXTRA PULL. Nevertheless, intercoolers are useless and WEAK, a NOTEBOOK COOLER could probably do BETTER and probably MUCH QUIETER.

@neogaiden You are the ignorant fool. If you have a fan pulling air from the rear exhaust you will no help cool it down. You need more air flowing through the heatsink to cool it down. Pulling air will not produce much more airflow, you need a powerful fan(s) pushing air through the intake vents to create more airflow through the heatsink reducing the temperature of the cpu/gpu chips, and the air pressure it creates pushing the air through will push it out of the exhaust vent ...CONTINUED...

An intercooler will only cause backup of hot air in the system since they can't move the air as fast as the built in fan in the ps3, but since there are plenty on intake vents all over the system, pushing more air into one of them will not back up air and will increase airflow. The best thing to do is buy a couple of little fans and a light weight plastic grill grid.

1-) place the grid a table away from the TV cause this one also causes ps3 over heating.

2-) Put the PS3 over the grid.

3-) place the 2 fans facing the PS3's holes (you can attach them to the grid )

4-) play your favorites games and don't forget to use a vacuum for the cleaning once in a while cause the dust gets everywhere.

This is stupid, unless it is built it, it can't detect wat speed it needs to be at when the temp. rises. While the intergrated PS3 fans are doing all the work, and this thing just blow at one speed. You can't have a say this fan is going at 30% while the PS3 fans are at 70% or more either way the USB fan have to match the speed n power(or more since it's helping) of the PS3 fans or otherwise it's a waste.

It depends on your room temperature. The PS3 can overheat, it doesn't have super-cooling fans in it. If you're in a aircon room, then it will help alot just like a PC.

I think this thing can actually serve some purpose. Get rid of the USB connector and give it a proper power supply with enough voltage to make the fans spin at their full speed. Perhaps you'll get something noisy but it'll probably actually help air flow into the system.

doesn't matter first of all it is using the same power supply as the PS3 which is not designed for that so that is dangerous. and second those fans simply cannot push enough air through with such a low RPM and terrible design. If you know anything about computer parts you will know how much of a POS those are.

It doesn't matter if it is "real" or fake the fans simpy are too small and push too little air to help the PS3s cooling in anyway. Besides the PS3s 130mm fan is designed in a certain way even the vents are carefully placed to allow the PS3 maximum cooling so placing a object in the way is not providing any benefits. Just don't waste your money on a piece of plastic that can harm your PS3 more then it can help it.

well, i used to keep it in an area that didn't have much ventilation so i wanted a fan just as a safeguard. I still keep it in the same compartment but when i play it, I just take it out into the open. As long as the ps3 has good ventilation, it most likely wont overheat.
