Your Mind's about this big . right there that dot a few spaces back is the size of your mind...... the size of the average mind even, wouldn't fit on your computer screen in comparison.....
Exactly why do I want to listen to you? Even if I could? You're not even old enough to understand anything within the film, much less it's true meaning.
2001 is pretty boring, but its still the most influential film in modern history.I think the killing, paths of glory,dr.strangelove, the shining and full metal jacket are his masterpieces.I think 2001 could have been with some cuts, clockwork orange is just to cold and disturbing to truly enjoy, though still very thought provoking. The first half of Barry lyndon is great, but it just becomes to depressing in the second half.Minus the billiard scene in eyes wide shut,it could have been alot better
Yes, well, that's just the kind of blinkered, philistine pig ignorance I've come to expect from you non-creative garbage. That's from Monty Python, by the way, you possibly don't know who they were or think they're boring and old and unfunny. Oh, well. Did you know most scifi movies before 2001 had rocketships on strings and computers with big spools of tape? Kubrick invented modern cinema SF. Hope I didn't wake up, Dude. Do kids still say Dude these days? Take a stress pill and reconsider!
2001 is to cinema as homeopathy is to medicine. A few pages of weak plot diluted over more than two hours, somehow more poignant or effective than the condensed version. Less does not equal more
Perhaps it makes you feel superior to "enjoy" 2001, to be a part of a supposed intellectual elite. I postulate that a lobotomy is a prerequisite for entry into the ranks of this movie's fandom. Spare humanity the waste of time that is watching 2001 and stop perpetuating the myth that this movie is good.
2001 is a classic piece of American cinema and THE Stanley Kubrick is one of the greatest directors of all time! You obviously don't appreciate him as much as you say. Btw, MY videos have better quality and when my videos have better quality than yours, that's saying something. Douchebag. Go get some real taste!
Do you have an imagination? Do you actually think about the themes of the movie, what the movie means or why this movie is the ultimate experience? Grow up, o wait, your already a fully grown fat ass.
I could really hardly hear this video but based on the title I'm just guessing you said it was boring like five times and considered it a review done.
When I first saw this movie, I was 9. I found it to be more weird than bad. After I read the book and watching it now, it just amazes me with all the great effects and atmosphere. Especially for its time.
Yes, 2001 is "stupid as fuck" to you because there are no Transfomers fucking each other in it or whatever happens in those retarded Michael Bay movies.
i love the fact that this kid wants to say that 2001 is a boring movie by putting up a boring ass review of a tremendous movie. Yes the movie is weird but that is what made it is so genius. 2001 is truly unlike any movie. in a good way. 2001 is my favorite movie of all time.
With a name like 'RickyDick' I really cant take you seriously. LOL. Let me guess, 13 right? Maybe 14? Just because theres no explosions right? No sounds in space? No gravity and physics being defied? No sex? No Blood and Gore? If you answered any of these questions right: Your a class 'A' Moron.
with a name like like 'EndeavourLaunch' i really cant take you seriously. LOL.
Let me me guess, 99 right? Maybe 110? just because this film was directed by $hit director stan $hitdick who let me remind you directed crapfest like THE SHINING, And crittically aclaimed cruddy film LOLITA does not mean you can try to protect this filler film. lol
oh and there were sounds in space like annoying breathing..headache, gravity and physics were defied by a F***** turning wheel cont..
@Xirbtt I DO NOT CARE FOR ACTION OR CHEAP THRILLS!!! I simply want something that is put together better, something with a better plot. The movie was finished before the book, & though they are similar, the book explains itself better, through the use of a more developed plot. Best part of the movie is HAL period...
@Xirbtt I hate Space Odyssey not because it lacks action, but because it lacks characters, it lacks a story and it lacks being a film. Gattaca was an excellent science fiction film that had no action. What ever meaning you find in 2001, the truth of the matter is, that nothing happened in it. You could fast foreward through 75% of it and not miss a single storypoint or a single line of dialogue.
Again maybe 2001 isn't all about the characters, maybe it isn't about the story that is presented. (Although you could very well go with it, which is what I see allot of people doing. . . because, well, that's how EVERY movie is supposed to be read and watched.) But I don't think 2001 is really meant to be viewed this way.
I mean you can dislike it if you want, that's your opinion and I don't intend to change that, I just want to put another way of looking at the movie out for you
It is a fucking boring dragged out piece of shit with apes jumping around sniffing their ass and passing out
oh and "Subconscious" experience my ass the only subconsious experience i had was "When is it going to END" i mean it takes thirty minutes to get a stupid point across.
NO WONDER PEOPLE WALKED OUT ON THIS SHITFEST AND THANK GOD HE DIED CAUSE WE WOULDNT HAVE TO WATCH CRAP LIKE THIS
@rubikscube10111 I'll say that there's no way this movie would get funded today. What you should know is the story is about how mankind's reliance on tools might be what kills him in the end. Pay attention to the nuclear weapon floating through space right after the ape discovered his first tool. It was made before star wars and the moon landing so the long shots of planets and whatever else were probably a lot cooler back then. Kubrick did make Full Metal Jacket for the ADD crowd, youl like it
@jayrusniak1 Hey, don't doubt FMJ. It's still HUGELY intelligent. The scene where Private Pyle commits suicide has physical impossibilities, music scores, lighting effects, and wordplay that indicates a dream sequence. For somebody who has a short attention span, Kubrick must be completely ignored. Can I suggest Dr. Strangelove? No, kids these days won't get it. A Clockwork Orange is ironically is most commercial film, at least for ADD kids. It's still REALLY intelligent though.
@jayrusniak1 Odd. I love Kubrick as well, but I saw your Profile picture, and it's kind of ironic, because I don't like Tarantino at all, and Pulp Fiction would be in my top ten least favorite films. That aside, Kubrick is great, and I would probably put as many of his movies as I can into my top ten favorites.
@Bassbait Kubrick movies are more timeless than QT. Classical music vs. pop. culture. I assume you're a guy, i haven't heard of too many guys who really don't like Pulp fiction or reservoir dogs. Basterds was even up for a top oscar. I like Qt's indie style. You like more mystery in your stories?
@jayrusniak1 I'm leaving Reservoir Dogs out of this, I haven't seen it. I'm primarily talking about Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction. I don't like it because although at times it's smart and shows some originality, a lot of the time, QT is too obsessed with being a tribute director to the point where a lot of scenes make no logical sense, such as Marvin's death scene (Red Letter Media could review that scene). I prefer Kubrick because of a deeper narrative surrounding any logical problems, as with FMJ
at least i can hear the movie . unlike this unbelievably rubbish youtube movie which i cant even hear!! althought judging by the title i would not want to hear the foolish words that come out of your idiotic mind. i think u need to grow up and get a life... you dont understand thesignification of this movie!!!!... which proves how much of a dumbass u are .. . and plz lose some weight ..if this is how an american young child thinks and LOOKS .. then im shocked
You can cry all you want, but that movie does indeed suck! The mythology and undertone and cinematic look of the movie is amazing and incredible, BUT IT STILL SUCKS!!!
Before you criticise one of the most influential science fiction films of the 20th century, you'd better learn how to record and upload a simple youtube video so you can understand the dribble that is coming out of your mouth.
The film was beyond you little man, and that's all you have to know.
You're just too young to appreciate a movie like this. I'm sure it would have bpred me to death when I was your age. My advice would be to watch it again in 10 years time. In the meantime go watch Potter and as Mommy to buy you a microphone for your PC!
First off, I can't hear a word you are saying in this video, but it's apparently negative judging by the title. Second, maybe after you hit puberty and grow up, you can also develop the necessary intellectual capacity to even appreciate a movie like this. I'm probably mistaken, though. You'll probably never be able to appreciate this movie. I think you're the kind of guy that keeps Rob Schneider in business. This movie is out of your league, big time.
Because it's technically flawless, it FEELS real (a tremendous feat for 1968, especially as people had yet to set foot on the moon), its pace is deliberate, its ideas haven't dated, its featured technology remains plausible (even in 2008), it's philosophically sound, and it gives the audience the benefit of the doubt, and a dozen other things.
Films that have tried to spell things out for us (De Palma's 'Mission to Mars' (2000) the most prominent example) have failed and failed badly.

You. . . you truly don't understand the movie. It's not about pandering to the audience's hedonistic want for action.
Stanley Kubrick even said himself it's more of a subconscious experience. Which makes sense giving the themes and images.
