I'm thinking of acquiring a symphony orchestra sample package of some sort. Would you tell me why you used non-Miroslav Philharmonik percussions? Does the Philharmonik not have percussions, or did the other synths have better ones or more of them? But heck, for a non-expensive package Philharmonik sounds really neat.
@gwaur The Miroslav Philharmonic certainly have all percussions of a classic symphonic orchestra, but they sounds to honestly for this track. Sadly not contained are chimebars, but the rest of the percussion range is inside. In addition i've used big war drums in that track, like taikos and big toms. Those sounds you will didn't find in any orchestral library.
For the most part, this sounds very fluid and authentic. Definitely interested in trying it out. Yeah, if you reallllllly scrutinize a couple sections, you *might* hear something synthetic, but I'd be hard pressed to find it and it doesn't detract from the composition. So many soundtracks integrate symphonic and synthesis, that it sounds very natural to me. Great job and thanks so much for posting this!
@AxeJMO Runs as a 32-bit VST over the Bitbridge. Now i'm working with Sonar X1 x64 on Windows 7 x64. The Bitbridge is the same as in Sonar 8. So i can say ... No problem. Works great.
2:59 Those french horn "rips" need to die, sir. They even scream "fake" to a lay person, while feeling like a sickle to the initiated eardrums. You can't simulate them by hand without sounding ridiculous. PS. Doesn't the library feature rip performance samples?
@wakeupfist No problem. Critics are appreciated. That's music...Somebody like it, somebody don't. The Miroslav Philharmonik doesn't feature rip samples. Therefore i have to find another way to reproduce rips. I know that it's not perfect. But you've identified it as rips. So the result can't be far away form that what it supposed to be. Listeners with not well trained ears don't notice the difference.
@synthisist Thanks. No, the Miroslav Philharmonik don't need such a powerfull system. I've made this track with an old AMD Athlon X2 prozessor with only 2 GB of RAM, without freezing any track.
mr i have a question about something that is really bothering me. i have got this product and i am really loving ecept for one thing, when im using violins, violas, or the full strings preset and i play E4,F4, or F#4 and the same one octave higher i hear a sometimes annoying high pitched sound, i just wanna check if you hear it too, or maybe its my speakers or whatever...
But just one question: why do you use 3 instances of MP?? why not less, why not more?? And how do you use midi channels in this case? Some instruments are on the same channel? How much tracks do you have?
I've needed 3 instances of the MP because of the articulations of the instruments. I've used a single midi track for each artikulation. With thus i have a good view over the complete song and see when i am using which Artikulation. For me is this way better than keyswitches or layers. I don't use project templates for my tracks. Becaus of my workflow, i don't know previously how many tracks i need. With all tracks, including the drum tracks, i've came to round about 50 tracks.
I've just got this programme and must say regarding edirol orchestral its chalk and cheese,I've only spent 10mins on it and already I can see that my PC needs upgrading,we have 4 gig ram with an AMD chip.
Its a little glitchy when importing the sounds and fell over a few times.
I would like to find a good way of bouncing the tracks to audio for better mixing but my old EMU 1258 card won't allow it.
@varioProductions,this is a fine piece of work and an excellent example, thanks
Thanks for your compliment. Sounds to me a little strange, that your PC make problems with 4 GB RAM. I've made this track with only 2 GB of RAM, and an AMD Athlon X2 without freezing any track. I've updated my system later to 4 GB and a Phenom X4.
The Edirol Orchestral is a nice handy tool, if you want to make some orchestral tracks without the the demand of absolutely realism. I am planing to make a track, only made with the Edirol Orchstral for Youtube.
I love it! Could you tell me which version of SONAR you used to produce this? Will the plugin work with the lowest-tier version, or do you need the advanced one?
I've used Sonar 8.5 Producer Edition. You can use every VSTi compatible sequencer. The new low budget version of Sonar is called "X1 Essential" and it is VSTi comtatible. You also can use othe sequencer like Cubase, Magix Music Maker, Samplitude, Reaper, etc. Check out the demo version of some sequencer to find out, which one is the right for you from the point of workflow and clarity.
Sounds really cool :D I like it... But, I have a question... Wich one is better: Miroslav Philarmonic or Edirol Orchestral...? I use Edirol, but I want to switch to Miroslav Philarmonic, and I don't know if that is ok... ( Sorry for my bad english :) )
@spookydrums The Miroslav Philharmonik sounds is much better then the Edirol Orchestral. I have both. The Miroslav sounds more lively and have much more articulations of any sound. But you have to train a little to get it sounds real.
In my opinion the Miroslav is still one of the best sounding orchestra libraries...and i have worked with many of them.
Beautiful dynamics and production!

@stratocaster539 Thats right...The old interface of Sonar needs getting used to. ;-) The new interface of Sonar X1 is much better.

Nice work using Miroslav. I don't think people realize the power this instrument has. Why spend 1600.00 when you can spend 250.00.
