sure his ideas sound good if you want to take us back to the days of Bush & the incompetent, big spending republicans that made us go broke.
I dont think senior citizens like his plans very much. Ryans plans have been overwhelmingly rejected by the public and Ryan himself has been labelled as a crackpot. You know, another Bachmann, another Palin
regarding Econ well, that's never been a strongpoint for republicans unless you think trippling the deficit is a good idea
@Piglatinsuperstar Actually in the Bush era, the government actually made 50% more revenue. The only problem was that the spending was out of control.
you mean the spending that Bush started in Iraq at a cost of 1 billion a week for 6 years straight?
you mean the revenue that was cut because of the Bush tax cuts and wiped out the surplus we HAD under Clinton.
you'd be smart to check yor facts instead of hearing it from FOX news. while you're at it, take up an econ class at your local community college. it couldnt hurt to wipe out that ignorance
and your statement has to be proven, which you werent able to do. Not even an illustration
and why? becuz it's baseless. So where does the added revenue come from?
You cut spending, there go government, state jobs, and there goes revenue along with it resulting in higher deficits not to mention the fact that neighboring businesses suffer the effects
@davidwatson23 Dude you are spot on about gun control in the UK. The article you are looking for is "Gun control isn't crime control" by ABC. I am a first gen immigrant to the US and am amazed at how your own countrymen think emotionally about gun control without ever stopping to look at the facts. It really annoys me when people don't let facts in the way of demagoguing an issue that is so fundamental to the US constitution.
we're all supposed to be concerned over the 2nd amendment rights some psycho tea party member who hnags on the words of Newt Gingrich (big time adulterer) and Tim Ryan at the expensee of our own lives
and then attributes the problems in the UK to a lack of gun rights
what a dumb punk. probably lives in the south somewhere
@Piglatinsuperstar So whats ur solution?U say,"take all guns off the streets".If such a law is passed,registered gun owners i.e. most law abiding folks will turn in their guns dutifully.Illegal guns will still remain in circulation & be used to commit crime against lawful citizens that don't have guns.davidwatson23 is right about the UK.ABC published an opinion piece to that effect,"Gun control isn't crime control".Google it. So pl answer - how will you take illegal guns off the streets?
don't sell them period. sellers make it way to easy for criminals to get their hands on them and waste innocent lives. only law enforcment and the militia should wield them
@Piglatinsuperstar "Don't sell them, period". That still does not address the fundamental question-How are you going to get the illegal, untraceable guns off the streets so criminals do not commit crimes with them?What happens when a criminal with an illegal gun enters your house knowing it is a legal-gun free community?How do u defend yourself against a manic criminal before the cops respond (usually takes atleast a few minutes in a large city like Houston). What do you mean militia?
why are you asking ME for? Jeez, use your head! it's law enforcement's job to track down the offenders just like we do with any terrorist but first you have to make it the law of the land to make them illegal. Again, only the militia has any real use for them. let's do the right thing for once and stop looking for excuses (you)
ban guns altogether so the rest of us wont have to pay the price
@Piglatinsuperstar And I won't call you a troll because I am trying to have an honest debate with someone with an opposing view...unless you are here to just troll and not have a serious discussion. Later..
and like Paul Ryan, I am trying to have an honest debate with you. If you believe Ryan then u should believe me. I have ntohing to hide and I am not an advocate for the gun industry and my username does not give me away as a gun loving troll.
I would like you to answer the following question: how are we going to keep our streets safe from guns when it is legal for everyone to carry one? Guns are our biggest killer in the US, more than cancer & heart disease & aids combined
what's YOUR solution to keep maniacs & gang members from killing us all out here. you say you're concerned about terrorism, but what about the daily terrorism that goes on within our borders?
less guns on the street = less innocents killed from randon shootings
@Piglatinsuperstar My solution:With so many illegal (i.e. unregistered,untraceable) guns out there that are primarily used by criminals to commit crimes, we should look to provide law abiding citizens with the means to defend themselves by allowing them to purchase a licensed(registered) gun after due background check.You answered my question with a question.So I ask you AGAIN,how do you propose to take the illegal&untraceable guns off the streets?I also provided you published facts by ABC.
Your kind has sang that song before. so you want to return us to the old west with frequent shoot 'em ups. Just the right solution to a gun loving advocate (lobbyist) to increase sales and allow more guns on the street.
this scenario has already been looked at. the various scenarios played out, none of which can benefit the general public which is why it will neverbecome accepted nor witll it ever get through
@Piglatinsuperstar "More guns to make us safer right?"Correct your demagoguery - More guns in the right hands to make us safer. Your opinion of me lobbying for the gun lobby is laughable.It is as ridiculous as saying you are a lobbyist for the drug mafia who does not want innocents to defend themselves."This scenario has already been looked at" - Yes exactly my point(ABC article).Kennesaw, Georgia has a gun mandate.They saw a decrease in gun crime rather than the increase you hoped for.
I think my opinion is perfectly justifiable. your love for guns is obvious (your username) & youre way too defensive which means you & your industry have a big stake in increasing sales of firearms. It'a all about money, you dont care anything about lives and never will.
If you did, you'd be spending more time on advocating against bullets for sale instead of calling for more guns in the hands of more people. it's really that simple so please dont try to confuse the issue
@Piglatinsuperstar Lol, my name has got nothing to do with guns dummy, google Guns n Roses.By that logic,do you support..the pig lobby?lol.Listen, I'm advocating what I think works in the current situation i.e. both illegal and legal guns floating around.To reduce gun crime you'd have to get rid of both.If that could be done,I'm all for it.As long as you have no way of getting rid of illegal ones, the legal ones help protect you and me against criminals.
@Piglatinsuperstar Lol,my name is unrelated with guns dummy,its a band :).So by logic,do you lobby for the pig lobby lol.Listen,you have illegal and legal guns floating around.To truly reduce gun crime you have to get rid of both at the same time.Without knowing how to get rid of illegal ones used to commit almost all crimes,the legal ones protect you and me against criminals.The fact that gun control increases gun crime(ABC article) shows that I care more about lives than you ever will.Period.
@Piglatinsuperstar Btw, just to be clear I am an immigrant to the US, so legally I cannot even own a firearm license in my county. But I will do so the day I get my permanent residency.I know I will be safer with it in the city I live in.
reallt? wow you sure threw ME off! I couldve sworn you from right here in the US the way you're so familiar with handgun statistics from state to state. maybe thats why your immigrant story smells like a fake
I think a more likely explanation is the one I gave about you being a paid troll defnding "citizen's rights"
"I know I will be safer once I get my firearm license". sure okay LOL!!
@Piglatinsuperstar Yea dude, really I am an immigrant.I dunno why you are such a dumbo. Its not that hard to comprehend really.I did my masters in electrical engg but am thinking of doing a masters in public policy now from UT Austin.That's why I read up so much and I know more stuff than Americans like you, its a real pity if you ask me.The FACT is you are unable to carry on a conversation based on facts,rather you prefer to dodge & demagogue the issue.If you ask me you sound like a paid troll.
@Piglatinsuperstar Also,for the4th time I'm asking you-how do you propose to get illegal guns off the streets?Rather than answer with facts yourself,you demonize folks like me who do have the facts with us.Name a few instances in the US where gun control has reduced crime-lets start with just ONE.Fact is,you cannot.You don't let facts get in the way of opinion.You sir, are ignorant at best and deceitful at worst.I have come back with facts,you refuse to,instead u ridicule me for being informed.
I already told you, that's law enforcement's job, not mine. They go after dangerous criminals remember? you're SUPPOSEDLY an electrical engineering major now (HAHA so he says) you should know these things
Why dont we talk about your major, that's more interesting. What year are you in now and which courses are you taking? I just want to see how you handle facts that come out of a lecture & textbooks
@Piglatinsuperstar ROFL! Are YOU telling ME to stay on topic?! You are the one talking about gun control on a video related to healthcare.You are talking throwing accusations instead of debating facts.That's pathetic.Again, by saying it is law enforcement's job to track illegal guns, you admit you don't know how to tackle that problem.So you will allow criminals to retain illegal guns but confiscate them from law abiding citizens?That's highly irrational,impulsive and illogical.
What do you think law enforcement is for you dumbass? that's what we got them for, to take care of the criminal element
you're just upset becuz you couldnt stump me with such a lame question
again, make it a lw to ban all firearms except for the militia as it says in the constitution, and we'll make carrying a firearm a crime in this country along with all the other crimes like rape, child molestation, prostitution, murder, & drunk driving
@Piglatinsuperstar My god,your dumbness is irreversible & irreplaceable.Every dumb statement of urs generates two more questions...Nyw,so what's a militia?Can I form my militia? In case you did not know, people formed militias themselves when the constitution was adopted. So you agree that I can form a militia with like minded folks? So after opposing gun control (based on stupidity, not facts) you would prefer all gun owners to form/join a militia? Please reflect on the idiocy of your opinion.
oh my god are you still kicking? I thought you went back into your hole after realizing how insane your "everybody should carry a gun in public" extremist views. seriously, give it some thought and run it around the block a couple of times and you'll come to undrstand why your suggestion has and never will be
been considered, taken up as a bill, not enough nuts out there think it has a snowball's chance in hell
seriously boy, learn some law & read the constitution
@Piglatinsuperstar I thought you wanted to stay on topic? Oh well, contradictions seem normal in your conversation. Nyw, electrical engg, I got my MS from Georgia Tech in 2008 (look up prof Yucel Altunbasak).I am currently working with Texas Instruments in their comm infra DSP division.Btw, DSP stands for digital signal processing in case you did not know.Do you want to talk more about EE or should we get back to topic as you suggested - gun control and how it in fact increases crime (FACTS),
@Piglatinsuperstar Why do you refuse to look at the facts that I showed you have been published rather than giving your opinion of what you think might happen? Dealing with facts is the foremost requirement of a rational mind.
what facts? People like you tell the rest of us "guns dont kill people, PEOPLE kill people. The gun is innocent"
why dont you acknowledge the fact that guns dont belong in the nads of gun loving people like you that inwardly love to point them at other people.
let's not confuse the issue ok? It's not rocket science my friend! Look at that rap artist a couple months ago sitting in hs car at 3 in the morn when someone just popped him one. Acknowledge that!
@Piglatinsuperstar I think you ought to go back and comprehend the difference between "fact" and "opinion". You have too much of the latter and none of the former to back you up. I think you are the one who are confusing the issue by REFUSING to address the one question I posed to you - for the third time: How do you propose to get illegal guns off the streets and out of the hands of criminals? Unless you answer that question with facts, your opinion is just that, an opinion and nothing else.

it's simple common sense: the more guns you allow into the hands of people, the more likely you will have innocents killed as a result. I dont know what nonsense you're blabbing about other than trying to cover up the number of lives taken each day by guns, and that we need guns laws become more lax which according to you, will make us all safer Haha big laugh!
who cares about your right to carry around forearms. Your rights don't matter when MY life is endangered
i understand you work as a gun lobbyist and will do anything you can to boost sales and whatever restrictions you can remove to help sales means more money in your pockets. it's not the lives that are lost everyday, it's the increase in gun sales that counts.
after Giffords was shot, ABC held a town conference where the gun industry stuck some plant in the audience that was taking questions, saying "we shouldnt talk about gun control becuz the wounds are too fresh"
by saying the wounds are too fresh, he didnt mean he was concerend that anyone got slaughtered that day. he was really concerned about a public backlash against the still lawful sales of firearms
to really reduce domestic terrorism together with the cowards who hide behind their guns, restrict their use to the military. and who cares about gun shop owners? We're supposed to give our lives for them just so they can keep making sales?
fact is, anyone can get a gun that's why we have so many random killings. Your argument "more legal guns = way less crime" is quite laughable
take all the guns off the street and you wont have nearly the same number of innocent victims
but this does not strike a chord with the gun industry? the only things that matters to them is making it yet easier to obtain guns so they increase their sales which is why you're advocating to lax the requirements
Tax corporations so they do not get away with no taxation. The Citizens for Tax Justice put out a report recently with that 12 major corporations like Honeywell, Verizon, General Electric, and in three years, they made $167 billion in profit, paid zero in taxes, and got $2.5 billion back from the treasury. Solution to Debt Crisis is to End Corporate Welfare and Corporate Tax Loopholes -- youtube . com/watch?v=wbMifGKH -- DemocracyNow . org
@rororhythm Okay. GOP is misleading. Low taxes helps the economy and jobs. Reagan helped the economy. (He raised taxes 11 times and asked Congress to raise the debt ceiling 17) . Have done my research. That's why I found out that low taxes has never helped. High taxes have never hurt. Reagan raised the debt the highest % Like 186% or so. Looked up debt per president. GDP per year. Unemployment per year. Top marginal tax rates per year. The 3 times we had the lowest taxes Depression or recession
you must be republican right bringing up the latest radical republican plan to reshape the country? Show me where in any economics text that lowering taxes leads to more revenue? that's the problem with the Obama stimulus and why it fell short. becuz Obama, who tries too hard to appease worhtless republicans and wants badly to be a moderate, spent half of the stimulus on tax cuts which does NOTHING. Go back to school, get an education
I dont hear our white knight Paul Ryan complaining about his government benefits, his government entitlements, his government healthecare. It's only when someone else gets any of it that he has a problem and speaks out about it
@rororhythm Huge shocker! This country did better with higher taxes than lower ones. The 3 times we had te lowest tax? 1925-1930 with 25% Depression in 1929. 1988-1990 with 28% Recession in early 1990s. And now at 35% we are in a you guess it! RECESSION! But, 1950s rates were at 91-92%. Lat tie the Republicans had a balanced budget? !956 with 91% rates. And, the federal highway act
You are wrong when you say everyone knows tax breaks don't help the country. Every time in all of history when you lower taxes you increase revenue. So even though the rate is lower, the total $ amount taken in by the government goes up. So relax, you'll still get your money for entitlement programs etc... but revenue goes up because there's more money to invest in the private sector. So by lowering taxes everyone wins. Do some homework, don't rely on our leftist educational system!
@devonnicholson You are wrong when you say lower taxes help. Look up ,"Top marginal tax rates per year." You will find what I did. That when the taxes were at their lowest. The economy suffered. We shouldn't rely on the right's lie about trickle down. It wasn't made to help the economy or jobs. Just to get people to agree with reagan's tax cuts for the rich. When Bush's tax cuts took effect. The revenue dropped compared to Cliton's last year.
that's right. in fact, just yesterday I was watching aa ABC news segment on the unemployment rate under Bush 2002-2007 comparing the numbers with previous administrations WITHOUT the Bush cuts. Using a simple bar graph, the comparison showed job numbers to be significantly LOWER than those BEFORE the Bush cuts, proving once and for all the lie in thier words. There is no correlation between cutting taxes and growing the economy. I just hope that all of America was watching
by the way, dont expect Republicans to help find you work or a job if you are approaching 50 yrs old. they are not simpathetic to your plight. They only work on behalf of the wealthy tho they act as tho their views are aligned with middle america. never fear tho, the republican party is headed the way of the dinosaur along sarah Palin and her recounting of the british invasion, fossil fuels, clean coal, the steam engine. they simly dont have any ideas that work. Paul Ryan proved this

@UBSCARED In 10 years you'll realize how bad supporting democrats was to this country. I don't think Bush or Obama were good presidents. They both failed completely.
Ask yourself this question: Have the Bsh tax cuts helped create jobs since 2007 when we the recession began? The answer is no and since the answer is no we must conclude that tax cuts for businesses do no promote job growth and that it is simply a myth.
Let's end the tax cuts for the wealthy; they have been given enough chances and enough time. They simply dont work and we need to balance our budget
Hmmm, seems like anyone who posts something mr pigheadedstupidstar disagrees with, gets hidden...what cowards. Well heres another for you to hide mr pighead, When taxes were cut in the 20's, revenues rose 61%, when JFK cut them in the 60's, revenues rose 62%, when Reagan cut taxes in the 80's, revenues rose 99.4%. Redistribution of wealth(class whorefare) doesnt benefit anyone...it just breeds a population with their hand out.

All anyone has to do is check the sources I used - everyone is legitimate AND a liberal source. So there is no way you can accuse me of using a right wing source to prove my points. You however, have not even cited a source, let alone stated any fact. All you have done is smear Republicans based on flat out lies.
I'm not trying to do smear republicans; they did it to themselves. the only thing republicans care about is the whims of their base-the elite, cutting taxes and cheap labor
all anyone has to do is look at the deficit before and after Reagan entered office and before and after Bush the 2nd entered office to see the effects of cutting taxes: creating or increasing deficits
you already answered your own question twice. It doesnt
and was proven to republicans on two occasions: after 8 years of Reaganomics (which isnt even taught in schools), and again after Bush took office and began what is known as the Bush experiment in terror. With a multi billion dollar surplus in place, Bush took it and transferred it all to the top 1% and that is the reason why we are having to cut all our services at the insistance of conservatives
why do republicana always insist tax breaks help the country when everyone knows they dont?
it's mathmatically impossible to increase revenue when taxes are cut and jobs are going overseas by the millions in the name of cheap labor and fattening profits
where do these conservatives get off lying to us week after week day, after day with their OWN brand of economics which isnt even taught in our schools?
Did Reagan somehow benefit the country with his deficits with tax cuts?
@Piglatinsuperstar It's very simple. Growth of business creates jobs. As businesses grow, they need more employees. This creates jobs. The more you tax a business, the more you cut into its revenue. If a business is bringing in less revenue, they have less to spend in all sectors, including number of employees and benefits.
You're not looking at the big picture. If taxes are cut and business freedom increases, and if it is successfully done, your revenues increase because of increased business.
that's the same supply side economics thats dried up our revenue. Keep cutting revenue and youll see more & more jobs cut as well as a domino effect which leads to yet more job cuts. very simple
on the other hand, growth is created by demand which in turn is fuled by disposable income. it's all basic economics in case you didnt know. besides all of this, it has been shown that when you raise taxes on businesses, they invest more in labor for the sake of keeping taxes lower
@detective166 FYI China import tax is 25% and the US import tax is 2.5%, China business is export and the lower taxes they pay are the American people making up the difference in revenue to China in the form of the import/ export tax imbalance. Now this does not include the fact they have no labor laws, So your argument for lower taxes on large corporations or business in general is simply not true and basically, it's a republican talking point dictated by corporations, designed to trick people.
@daveusaz1218 Did I say anything about China? No. You must be so retarded, you don't know that Hong Kong and the People's Republic of China are separate entities. Stop talking to me you liberal pious moron.
@detective166 Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region of the Peoples Republic of China. So you, are the one lacking knowledge here. And this is a free forum, I can respond to anybody I want. If you don't like being corrected then don't say things that are purely false and miss leading. Save the corporate propaganda because, I will correct you every time I see you speading a non truth. Abusive people like you are a joke but I enjoying making you eat your words, How does that crow taste? Mmmm
I'm sorry but the Bush tax cuts are what helped lead to the enormous deficits and if you want to use a model for prosperity it is best that we use our own country and track its progress throughout the last ten years when the Bush tax cuts were implemented
Before the tax cuts, we not only had a blanced budget, we had a SURPLUS. WHy havent republican administrations ever produced one? Answer: they keep going back to the same mistakes they always do
Also, I think it is immoral what Republicans keep trying to do: cutting jobs, cutting services, then passing on the savings to the top 1% , while failing to produce ONE JOB. It's already been established Top down economics DOESNT WORK!
One more thing: KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL; WE DON'T HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM, WE HAVE A REVENUE PROBLEM!
@Piglatinsuperstar Republicans don't care about facts or what works. The only recent Republican presidents who did a good job with with the debt were Einsenhower and Nixon. The last 5 democrats did a better job than from Reagan on. Reagan LIED about Trickle Down So, people would agree to his huge cuts for the rich.
@jrwel14 the republicans are the party of no ideas & bad ideas. their latest radical extremist plan to hold us hostage for more cuts to services, more tax breaks for top 1% lthy will send us all onto the sidewalks. Republicans have never done well with the economy. Didnt you hear McCain said 3 yrs ago, that he doesnt know basic economics? That's how they all are and prove it every time they take over. that's why they spend so much time promoting terrorism & shove foreign policy down our throats
@Piglatinsuperstar Increased revenue power to the federal government does not improve our society. Liberty does. Letting the people that earned their wealth keep more of it is in line with the principles on which this country was founded. What do you liberals not understand about that?
you talking "top down economics". it doesnt work, that's why. SHow me any econ text used at the College, University, or even High School level that teaches it. they dont b/c there's no basis behind it and why teach principles that dont work in practice? only republicans teach this nonsense b/c it sounds good to them and brings back memories of Reagan
Under Reagannomics (top down) he raise taxes on middleclass 12X while trippling the deficit
your ignorance astounds me. why are yourkind so fearful of learning economics? even McCain said it of himself that "I am weak in this area. I wish someone would teach me"
in general, this is very true of all conservatives, they are very poorly educated in this subject and yet, YOU ACTUALY THINK YOU KNOW MORE THAN THE REST OF US! I find this amazing that here in this country, we have a sect that knows nothing on the subject yet speak about it as tho they were the authority
@Piglatinsuperstar I find it very telling that you went on a rant, and insulted me and the Republicans insisting on our ignorance, but failed to make even one point on economics. Arguing with liberals is like trying to reason with a small child. You might as well call me a booger head. Idiot.
who cares if you're offended? what you think doesnt matter and I say that in the nicest way since your kind is ignorant, uneducated, then you are the least informed so you should stay quiet until you have the balls to go out and get yourself a formal education. becuz as I've said before, we might be willing to listen to some one MORE educated than ouselves but NEVER less educated. BTW, how's that republican congress working out for you?
btw, why would you want less regulation on business? Last I heard, they were making RECORD PROFITS so that means they arent exactly hurting
and furthermore, I heard these corporations were just SITTING ON TRILLIONS when they COULD BE PAYING TAXES so that money could be used to pay down our DEFICIT. if they're just sitting on it and not hiring, then they should have their taxes raised. That is common sense government
Todd Aldrich and his party, the party of fear and tax breaks for the rich, want to deprive everyone their right for affodable health care so that insurance companies can reap increasing profits and wont have government competing with them to drive down the costs
Education was much more affordable for everyone until Reagan came into office then Bush. The cost of tuition was actually going down several consecutive terms when Clinto was in office, the days of massive surpluses
Thanks to liberal policies America can no longer afford to pay for medicare, social security, unemployment and many other services. We also need to lower the minimum wage to $2/hr in order to compete with China and bring jobs back home. Fiscally responsible conservatives like Paul Ryan and John Boehner know this and are currently
working to end these wasteful handout programs and bring the minimum wage down so that America can be great again. God bless the GOP!
it's great becuz it offers vouchers for 3000 dollars for seniors and at the same time it gives them CHOICE. and, it's PORTABLE! u can take it across state lines!!
Lets not acknowledge the issue of rising (30-40%) costs we see every year; Besides, Market Forces will automatically adjust the prices downward once the Ryan plan goes into effect
Oh sure, I'm just going to take your word for it. A conservative whose policies failed the country for 8 years
the innacuracy was a major one and you're asking about it?
can't Republicans do basic math? How long do they/you expect us to buy their con job? whatever he's trying to cut he passes on to the usual 1% so WHERE ARE THE SAVINGS???
raise taxes on the motherfuckers and balance out the equation!
I recall republicans in both houses standing in solidarity behind Bush and his policies. at no time did i see conservatives make noise about his agenda
if tax breaks worked so well how come 48000 factories closed down under bush and how come more jobs were created under the Obama admin in 2 yrs than under Bush in 8? why did the bush tax breaks not prevent job losses of 750,000/month under Bush
and why do we now have postive job growth under Obama well BEFORE the extension?
@Piglatinsuperstar 750,00 a month jobs is a lie. It was ONE month, and it occurred AFTER Democrats took over congress.
Between the Bush tax cuts and the time when Democrats took over congress, we created roughly 9 million new jobs.
We had positive growth for the vast majority of the BUsh years also. Except the positive growth under Bush was strong enough to actually decrease the unemployment rate. The unemployment rate has gone UP under Obama.
the spending came under the Bush admin. why didnt conservatives put a stop to it?
the fact is, conservatives like to do the spending then give us the rap for the damages. Then people like you get embarassed over it then try to cover up with flimsy excuses like the one you're using (in vain I might add)
then on top of that they want to OVERHAUL (destroy) the existing system with another Bush like experiment in terror. "Keep your eye on the ball......"
Everyone in Washington knows that Paul Ryan has been told he has a million dollar a year lobbying job for the health industry if he gets his health care law passed.
Here's how it works-he lies through his teeth to get it passed-the healthcare insurance industry makes billions more from vouchers while still denying it's customers health care.
Meanwhile this nigger gets a cushy one million dollar a year job as a lobbyist. Way to sell out your own people Ryan!

The ONLY way to bring jobs back to America is to lower the minimum wage to $2/hr.
This is the only way we can compete with China. Paul Ryan and my fellow republicans need to act on this now. Employers also should not have to carry the burdern of paying for health care either. Go get em Paul!
If it is True, that the Goverment, is of the people, for the people, by the people, the people we Elect....... Should have the Same, Health Care Plan, as the people thay Represant ?
@ToddAldrich Wrong. There is not 1 single country other than the USA that uses for profit health insurance for primary care. Also all other OECD developed nations have their payer system enforce some kind of cost controll with drugs and the doctors.
@ToddAldrich Wrong Again. Switzerland was the only country that used our system of for profit HMOs and they reformed their system in 1994 and outlawed for profit HMOs and all their private insurance is now non profit.
There is no such thing as a "Free Market" solution for health care and there never will be.
The one good thing about Ryan's budget proposal is that it will put a lot of right wingers out of thier jobs and homes. They'll have to move in with the kids who won't have jobs either. Many will die from lack of proper affordable health care. I'm all for that.
@ToddAldrich - if its True ? That the Goverment, is of the people, and for the people, and by the people, the people, We Elect... Should have the Same Health Care Plan, as the people thay Represeant ?
@stringlov Everyone should have a CHOICE, something that government controlled health care ends. Right now our representatives have PRIVATE health care companies providing their care - JUST like most of us.
@Piglatinsuperstar It does not matter who their employer is. THey have PRIVATE insurance companies providing the coverage - no different than most Americans.
What you would offer, eliminates any chance we have to have what they have.
if the government pays for you it matters. How much comes out of his own pocket? he wont tell you just like he wouldnt say on his televised interview which I happened to be watching that day
why shouldnt the rest of us have the same coverage? If he doesnt give in then he shouldnt be partaking of the socialist program he denounces
@Piglatinsuperstar The govt pays 72% of the health plan that congress recieves - the rest comes out of their pockets - VERY similar to what most people have.
@Piglatinsuperstar WHY DON'T THE DEMOCRATS WANT US TO HAVE THE PLAN THEY HAVE, is a far better question. They have PRIVATE insurance, not cookie cutter coverage they are FORCING on us.
@Piglatinsuperstar We have SEVERAL plans. My PERSONAL plan is to eliminate employer paid insurance by ending tax breaks for it. Instead give employers tax breaks to issue "health care dollars" that the employee can use to purchase THEIR OWN insurance - make it portable and eliminate the state barriers to offering insurance accross state lines.
In other words, allow the market forces to actually work. Put the consumer back in the VITAL role of comparative shopper. It works.
HAHA look at this! giving more tax breaks to corporations SOMEHOW translates into affordable coverage from private insurers. It must work like magic! either that or we've got us more CON-servative double talk
"health care dollars". "portable" ,, "allow the market forces to work"...what a laughing stock! Let me guess, ban government regulations on business altogether, right?
This is reminiscent to another Bush admin experiment in terror (backed by conservatives of course)
@Piglatinsuperstar First off, you obviously cannot read, I merely switched the deductions from one area and shifted it to another - to encourage them to give their employees more $ so THEY can choose.
I guess more $ to employees and more freedom for employees is a bad thing in your book. I am glad to hear you admit it. The areas where consumers pay for their own care, prices are actually coming down. That is what my plan encourages. With the healthcare $ from their jobs, they do exactly that.
so the reall issue facing Americans is CHOICE, FREEDOM, and not AFFORDABILITY?
you still havent told me how this is going to reduce costs and the reason is becuz you dont know. everything republicans come up with is in the experimental stage. it's only AFTERWARDS when the public has gotten burned we can see the results of it. I dont want to take any chances with any plans the REPUBLICANS have in mind! Everything they touch is a disaster
@Piglatinsuperstar Your ignorance of how markets work is NOT a failure on my part. And it is nice to see that lack of choice and FORCE solutions are high on your list of priorities while freedom obviously is not.
yeah and what economics text do you pull this out of? you are GROSSLY uneducated and misinformed! not to mention the way you fabricate most of your information on the spot. This really shows by the way you refuse to say how Ryan's plan will drop the price of coverage. no one is interested in these worthless vouchers!! Nor are they interested in having "'choice" as a selling point while being unable to afford coverage
Here's another trick the republicans like to play on you and me
Keep your eye on the ball "it's about freedom and choice. We dont have a affordability problem we have a CHOICE problem"
This is basically all they do. Conservatives give no solution to the problems but instead fabricate another problem that has no bearing on our situation. Let's not discuss the flaws in the Ryan program but instead make this all about "choice" amd "freedom" which is where we want to keep the conversation
@Piglatinsuperstar BWAHAHAHAHAA Well, I can not tell you the exact title of the economic text that it came from, I had so many different ones on the way to my PhD in economics. But, I CAN tell you this. It was probably in my HIGH SCHOOL freshman econ class. That is the absolutely the most basic economic tenet there is.
Competition improves both quality AND price for the consumer.
EVERY school of economic thought - EVEN the liberals favorite Keynesian
You can't hardly find a book on this subject that does NOT say it.
If you want a couple of specific titles, Essentials of Economics - Mankiw , Essentials of Economics - Krugman, Wells & Graddy.
Virtually ALL texts that cover tax policy - the ones I mention are basic entry level type books one from a conservative and the other from liberal Keynesians. Shall I continue?
by all means please go on. with the Bush tax cuts in place, why we were losing so many jobs until the Obama stimulus went into effect and actually reversed the trend which we see in ever increasing #s
also explain how to increase revenues as your tax base dwindles. Just HOW DO you increase revenues with less jobs available combined with less taxes imposed on corporations?
you're not very anxious to answer are you? and if you lie again you know I'll call you out on it
@Piglatinsuperstar The job losses were not a result of the tax cuts, they were the result of a housing bubble and bad banking practices by consumers, banks, investors and government.Oh, and the recession ended BEFORE any significant policy of Obama's had taken effect.You CAN'T very well increase revenues with a shrinking tax base - that is my point! Less taxes on corporate investment INCREASES jobs and EXPANDS the tax base AND lowers the incentive to move $ and jobs offshore.
Yet those jobs you claim are being created are actually being sent to China, India. you said the bush tax cuts were the main factor for increasing revenue. you even gave me all the #s. how tho when your tax base has been reduced? how do you bring in more revenue when you cut the tax rate and you've sent over millions of jobs overseas and 48,000 factories have closed down?
If you're going to make a statement like that I expect you to back it up. you have a PHD dont you?
@Piglatinsuperstar The tax base wasn't reduced UNTIL the Democrats took over congress. After the tax cuts and before the Democrats took over, there were 9 MILLION new taxpaying individuals and a multitude of new businesses that were being taxed - in other words the tax based INCREASED.
I already cited the BLS and the 2010 Economic Report of the President that shows this. IF you could read, you would know just how stupid you sound.
@Piglatinsuperstar Show me one lie - and you better back it up with cited sources and facts, not opinion pieces. Accusing ME of lying when that is ALL you have done, is pretty vile. That would place you in a far worse category than a mere idiot.

@piglatinsuperstar actually those ideas sound pretty good. And learn some Economics son!

@SpartanCXVII
sure his ideas sound good if you want to take us back to the days of Bush & the incompetent, big spending republicans that made us go broke.
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Actually in the Bush era, the government actually made 50% more revenue. The only problem was that the spending was out of control.
SpartanCXVII 4 months ago
@SpartanCXVII
you mean the spending that Bush started in Iraq at a cost of 1 billion a week for 6 years straight?
you mean the revenue that was cut because of the Bush tax cuts and wiped out the surplus we HAD under Clinton.
you'd be smart to check yor facts instead of hearing it from FOX news. while you're at it, take up an econ class at your local community college. it couldnt hurt to wipe out that ignorance
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Yeah that spending.
No. The tax cuts increased revenue. Why is that so hard to understand?
And I am taking an economics class at school.

@SpartanCXVII
wow good for you!
too bad Reaganomics isnt High School OR College
and your statement has to be proven, which you werent able to do. Not even an illustration
and why? becuz it's baseless. So where does the added revenue come from?
You cut spending, there go government, state jobs, and there goes revenue along with it resulting in higher deficits not to mention the fact that neighboring businesses suffer the effects
what's so hard to understand about that?

@davidwatson23 Dude you are spot on about gun control in the UK. The article you are looking for is "Gun control isn't crime control" by ABC. I am a first gen immigrant to the US and am amazed at how your own countrymen think emotionally about gun control without ever stopping to look at the facts. It really annoys me when people don't let facts in the way of demagoguing an issue that is so fundamental to the US constitution.
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
How did this turn into a gun debate? Try to keep your eye on the ball people.
Brajabu74 4 months ago
we're all supposed to be concerned over the 2nd amendment rights some psycho tea party member who hnags on the words of Newt Gingrich (big time adulterer) and Tim Ryan at the expensee of our own lives
and then attributes the problems in the UK to a lack of gun rights
what a dumb punk. probably lives in the south somewhere
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar So whats ur solution?U say,"take all guns off the streets".If such a law is passed,registered gun owners i.e. most law abiding folks will turn in their guns dutifully.Illegal guns will still remain in circulation & be used to commit crime against lawful citizens that don't have guns.davidwatson23 is right about the UK.ABC published an opinion piece to that effect,"Gun control isn't crime control".Google it. So pl answer - how will you take illegal guns off the streets?
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@gunsnroses2020
don't sell them period. sellers make it way to easy for criminals to get their hands on them and waste innocent lives. only law enforcment and the militia should wield them
later troll
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar "Don't sell them, period". That still does not address the fundamental question-How are you going to get the illegal, untraceable guns off the streets so criminals do not commit crimes with them?What happens when a criminal with an illegal gun enters your house knowing it is a legal-gun free community?How do u defend yourself against a manic criminal before the cops respond (usually takes atleast a few minutes in a large city like Houston). What do you mean militia?
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@gunsnroses2020
why are you asking ME for? Jeez, use your head! it's law enforcement's job to track down the offenders just like we do with any terrorist but first you have to make it the law of the land to make them illegal. Again, only the militia has any real use for them. let's do the right thing for once and stop looking for excuses (you)
ban guns altogether so the rest of us wont have to pay the price
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar And I won't call you a troll because I am trying to have an honest debate with someone with an opposing view...unless you are here to just troll and not have a serious discussion. Later..
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@gunsnroses2020
and like Paul Ryan, I am trying to have an honest debate with you.
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@gunsnroses2020
what's YOUR solution to keep maniacs & gang members from killing us all out here. you say you're concerned about terrorism, but what about the daily terrorism that goes on within our borders?
less guns on the street = less innocents killed from randon shootings
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar My solution:With so many illegal (i.e. unregistered,untraceable) guns out there that are primarily used by criminals to commit crimes, we should look to provide law abiding citizens with the means to defend themselves by allowing them to purchase a licensed(registered) gun after due background check.You answered my question with a question.So I ask you AGAIN,how do you propose to take the illegal&untraceable guns off the streets?I also provided you published facts by ABC.
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@gunsnroses2020
I knew it: more guns to make us safer right?
Your kind has sang that song before. so you want to return us to the old west with frequent shoot 'em ups. Just the right solution to a gun loving advocate (lobbyist) to increase sales and allow more guns on the street.
this scenario has already been looked at. the various scenarios played out, none of which can benefit the general public which is why it will neverbecome accepted nor witll it ever get through
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar "More guns to make us safer right?"Correct your demagoguery - More guns in the right hands to make us safer. Your opinion of me lobbying for the gun lobby is laughable.It is as ridiculous as saying you are a lobbyist for the drug mafia who does not want innocents to defend themselves."This scenario has already been looked at" - Yes exactly my point(ABC article).Kennesaw, Georgia has a gun mandate.They saw a decrease in gun crime rather than the increase you hoped for.
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@gunsnroses2020
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Lol, my name has got nothing to do with guns dummy, google Guns n Roses.By that logic,do you support..the pig lobby?lol.Listen, I'm advocating what I think works in the current situation i.e. both illegal and legal guns floating around.To reduce gun crime you'd have to get rid of both.If that could be done,I'm all for it.As long as you have no way of getting rid of illegal ones, the legal ones help protect you and me against criminals.
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Lol,my name is unrelated with guns dummy,its a band :).So by logic,do you lobby for the pig lobby lol.Listen,you have illegal and legal guns floating around.To truly reduce gun crime you have to get rid of both at the same time.Without knowing how to get rid of illegal ones used to commit almost all crimes,the legal ones protect you and me against criminals.The fact that gun control increases gun crime(ABC article) shows that I care more about lives than you ever will.Period.

gunsnroses2020 4 months ago

and remember to stay on topic
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar ROFL! Are YOU telling ME to stay on topic?! You are the one talking about gun control on a video related to healthcare.You are talking throwing accusations instead of debating facts.That's pathetic.Again, by saying it is law enforcement's job to track illegal guns, you admit you don't know how to tackle that problem.So you will allow criminals to retain illegal guns but confiscate them from law abiding citizens?That's highly irrational,impulsive and illogical.
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@gunsnroses2020
What do you think law enforcement is for you dumbass? that's what we got them for, to take care of the criminal element
you're just upset becuz you couldnt stump me with such a lame question
again, make it a lw to ban all firearms except for the militia as it says in the constitution, and we'll make carrying a firearm a crime in this country along with all the other crimes like rape, child molestation, prostitution, murder, & drunk driving
it really IS that simple
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar My god,your dumbness is irreversible & irreplaceable.Every dumb statement of urs generates two more questions...Nyw,so what's a militia?Can I form my militia? In case you did not know, people formed militias themselves when the constitution was adopted. So you agree that I can form a militia with like minded folks? So after opposing gun control (based on stupidity, not facts) you would prefer all gun owners to form/join a militia? Please reflect on the idiocy of your opinion.
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@gunsnroses2020
oh my god are you still kicking? that's right; the tea party think of themselves as part of the militia
unfortuntately for them (but fortunate for us) they are not considered as such

capiche? let's not confuse legit hired guns with wanna be gun slingers trying to help gun sales

gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Why do you refuse to look at the facts that I showed you have been published rather than giving your opinion of what you think might happen? Dealing with facts is the foremost requirement of a rational mind.
gunsnroses2020 4 months ago
@gunsnroses2020
Acknowledge that!

it's simple common sense: the more guns you allow into the hands of people, the more likely you will have innocents killed as a result. I dont know what nonsense you're blabbing about other than trying to cover up the number of lives taken each day by guns, and that we need guns laws become more lax which according to you, will make us all safer Haha big laugh!
who cares about your right to carry around forearms. Your rights don't matter when MY life is endangered
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@davidwatson23
i understand you work as a gun lobbyist and will do anything you can to boost sales and whatever restrictions you can remove to help sales means more money in your pockets. it's not the lives that are lost everyday, it's the increase in gun sales that counts.
after Giffords was shot, ABC held a town conference where the gun industry stuck some plant in the audience that was taking questions, saying "we shouldnt talk about gun control becuz the wounds are too fresh"
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
by saying the wounds are too fresh, he didnt mean he was concerend that anyone got slaughtered that day. he was really concerned about a public backlash against the still lawful sales of firearms
to really reduce domestic terrorism together with the cowards who hide behind their guns, restrict their use to the military. and who cares about gun shop owners? We're supposed to give our lives for them just so they can keep making sales?
Piglatinsuperstar 4 months ago
@davidwatson23
fact is, anyone can get a gun that's why we have so many random killings.

The revenue dropped compared to Cliton's last year.
jrwel14 6 months ago
@jrwel14
that's right. in fact, just yesterday I was watching aa ABC news segment on the unemployment rate under Bush 2002-2007 comparing the numbers with previous administrations WITHOUT the Bush cuts. Using a simple bar graph, the comparison showed job numbers to be significantly LOWER than those BEFORE the Bush cuts, proving once and for all the lie in thier words. There is no correlation between cutting taxes and growing the economy. I just hope that all of America was watching

Let's end the tax cuts for the wealthy; they have been given enough chances and enough time. They simply dont work and we need to balance our budget

Now imagine how much concern this same party has for your healthcare

and like Rayn they actually say it with a straight face
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago
Well, mr pig,
All anyone has to do is check the sources I used - everyone is legitimate AND a liberal source. So there is no way you can accuse me of using a right wing source to prove my points. You however, have not even cited a source, let alone stated any fact. All you have done is smear Republicans based on flat out lies.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
I'm not trying to do smear republicans; they did it to themselves. the only thing republicans care about is the whims of their base-the elite, cutting taxes and cheap labor
all anyone has to do is look at the deficit before and after Reagan entered office and before and after Bush the 2nd entered office to see the effects of cutting taxes: creating or increasing deficits
republicans: the party of no ideas or bad ideas
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 3
@Piglatinsuperstar If receipts go UP after tax cuts, how does that contribute to the deficit?
How does bringing in MORE money make the deficit worse?
According to Obama's "2010 economic Report of the President", here are the revenue figures and trends BEFORE and after the tax cuts:
Reagan:
Before cuts: 1980 $517.1 billion
After tax cuts 1988 $1,064.4 billion
Bush:
2000 $2,025.2 and falling - all the way to $1,782.3 in 2003, when most cuts were in place -
by 2008 receipts were $2,568.0
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
you already answered your own question twice. It doesnt
and was proven to republicans on two occasions: after 8 years of Reaganomics (which isnt even taught in schools), and again after Bush took office and began what is known as the Bush experiment in terror. With a multi billion dollar surplus in place, Bush took it and transferred it all to the top 1% and that is the reason why we are having to cut all our services at the insistance of conservatives
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 2
why do republicana always insist tax breaks help the country when everyone knows they dont?
it's mathmatically impossible to increase revenue when taxes are cut and jobs are going overseas by the millions in the name of cheap labor and fattening profits
where do these conservatives get off lying to us week after week day, after day with their OWN brand of economics which isnt even taught in our schools?
Did Reagan somehow benefit the country with his deficits with tax cuts?
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 30
@Piglatinsuperstar It's very simple. Growth of business creates jobs. As businesses grow, they need more employees. This creates jobs. The more you tax a business, the more you cut into its revenue. If a business is bringing in less revenue, they have less to spend in all sectors, including number of employees and benefits.
You're not looking at the big picture. If taxes are cut and business freedom increases, and if it is successfully done, your revenues increase because of increased business.
detective166 7 months ago
@detective166
that's the same supply side economics thats dried up our revenue.
Piglatinsuperstar 7 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar The best off countries are the ones with favorable business environments, like Hong Kong, which has super low taxes.
detective166 7 months ago
@detective166 FYI China import tax is 25% and the US import tax is 2.5%, China business is export and the lower taxes they pay are the American people making up the difference in revenue to China in the form of the import/ export tax imbalance. Now this does not include the fact they have no labor laws, So your argument for lower taxes on large corporations or business in general is simply not true and basically, it's a republican talking point dictated by corporations, designed to trick people.
daveusaz1218 7 months ago

Mmmm
daveusaz1218 7 months ago
@detective166
Answer: they keep going back to the same mistakes they always do
Piglatinsuperstar 7 months ago
Also, I think it is immoral what Republicans keep trying to do: cutting jobs, cutting services, then passing on the savings to the top 1% , while failing to produce ONE JOB. It's already been established Top down economics DOESNT WORK!
One more thing: KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL; WE DON'T HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM, WE HAVE A REVENUE PROBLEM!
Piglatinsuperstar 7 months ago
and yet they insist on continuing the welfare for oil companies but have no way to defend it. They also insist on "aggressively going after medicare"
it's like they say, the republican party is the party of no ideas and bad ideas
Piglatinsuperstar 7 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Republicans don't care about facts or what works. The only recent Republican presidents who did a good job with with the debt were Einsenhower and Nixon. The last 5 democrats did a better job than from Reagan on. Reagan LIED about Trickle Down So, people would agree to his huge cuts for the rich.
jrwel14 6 months ago
@jrwel14 the republicans are the party of no ideas & bad ideas. their latest radical extremist plan to hold us hostage for more cuts to services, more tax breaks for top 1% lthy will send us all onto the sidewalks. Republicans have never done well with the economy. Didnt you hear McCain said 3 yrs ago, that he doesnt know basic economics? That's how they all are and prove it every time they take over. that's why they spend so much time promoting terrorism & shove foreign policy down our throats
Piglatinsuperstar 6 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Increased revenue power to the federal government does not improve our society. Liberty does. Letting the people that earned their wealth keep more of it is in line with the principles on which this country was founded. What do you liberals not understand about that?
GodotheInfantry 3 months ago
@GodotheInfantry
you talking "top down economics". it doesnt work, that's why.
Piglatinsuperstar 3 months ago
@GodotheInfantry
your ignorance astounds me. why are yourkind so fearful of learning economics? even McCain said it of himself that "I am weak in this area.
Piglatinsuperstar 3 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar I find it very telling that you went on a rant, and insulted me and the Republicans insisting on our ignorance, but failed to make even one point on economics. Arguing with liberals is like trying to reason with a small child. You might as well call me a booger head. Idiot.
GodotheInfantry 3 months ago
@GodotheInfantry
who cares if you're offended? what you think doesnt matter and I say that in the nicest way since your kind is ignorant, uneducated, then you are the least informed so you should stay quiet until you have the balls to go out and get yourself a formal education. becuz as I've said before, we might be willing to listen to some one MORE educated than ouselves but NEVER less educated. BTW, how's that republican congress working out for you?
Piglatinsuperstar 3 months ago
@GodotheInfantry
btw, why would you want less regulation on business? Last I heard, they were making RECORD PROFITS so that means they arent exactly hurting
and furthermore, I heard these corporations were just SITTING ON TRILLIONS when they COULD BE PAYING TAXES so that money could be used to pay down our DEFICIT. if they're just sitting on it and not hiring, then they should have their taxes raised. That is common sense government

@Piglatinsuperstar And what was innacurate about that statement. We Don't have a revenue problem - and we DO have a spending problem.
That is what Ryan is saying and it is accurate - and HIS policies are the ONLY serious ones being put forward to reduce spending.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich

@Piglatinsuperstar George Bush did not follow a conservative agenda. You don't know dick about conservatism if you think that.
Tax cuts are the ONLY conservative domestic policy he followed - and THEY worked!
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Um, Obama has not created a SINGLE net job. We have FEWER jobs now than when Bush left office.
YOu need to get your facts straight instead of simply buying the lie.
Here, I'll do it for you - from OBAMA's Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Total jobs in the U.S. on Jan 21, 2009 ---- 142,201,000
Total jobs in the U.S. TODAY ----139,674,000
Obama has LOST 2,527,000 jobs.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar 750,00 a month jobs is a lie. It was ONE month, and it occurred AFTER Democrats took over congress.
Between the Bush tax cuts and the time when Democrats took over congress, we created roughly 9 million new jobs.
We had positive growth for the vast majority of the BUsh years also. Except the positive growth under Bush was strong enough to actually decrease the unemployment rate. The unemployment rate has gone UP under Obama.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar You are so fucking stupid that you actually think the rich are paying a lower share of the tax bill than they did before the cuts.
Tell you what, when you learn what the fuck you are talking about, get back with me.
You don't have a single fact right.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar The statement was NOT an inaccurate one. Revenues under Bush were higher than at ANY TIME IN OUR ENTIRE HISTORY. That is a FACT.
COngress and BUsh simply spent it faster than it was coming in. We DON'T have a revenue problem. We have a SPENDING problem.
If you make $350,000 a year, and you have credit card debt that you cannot meet, the problem is NOT with your income.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
the spending came under the Bush admin. why didnt conservatives put a stop to it?
the fact is, conservatives like to do the spending then give us the rap for the damages. Then people like you get embarassed over it then try to cover up with flimsy excuses like the one you're using (in vain I might add)
then on top of that they want to OVERHAUL (destroy) the existing system with another Bush like experiment in terror. "Keep your eye on the ball......"

ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
I think the better question is what plan do the republicans have to cut the cost of medical insurance?
If you dont have a plan that addresses this (and you don't) then you shouldnt criticize someone else's plan
It's a matter of affordability for all. wake up stupid!
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 3
@Piglatinsuperstar We have SEVERAL plans. My PERSONAL plan is to eliminate employer paid insurance by ending tax breaks for it. Instead give employers tax breaks to issue "health care dollars" that the employee can use to purchase THEIR OWN insurance - make it portable and eliminate the state barriers to offering insurance accross state lines.
In other words, allow the market forces to actually work. Put the consumer back in the VITAL role of comparative shopper. It works.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 3
here's another zinger:
"Put the consumer back in the role of comparative shopper. It works!"
works for WHO?
what text book did you pull this out from and how do you know it works if price continues to soar?
I dont recall seeing prices ever drop leading up the passage of the reform bill
as usual, CON-servatives are full of hot air with nothing to offer
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 3
@Piglatinsuperstar First off, you obviously cannot read, I merely switched the deductions from one area and shifted it to another - to encourage them to give their employees more $ so THEY can choose.
I guess more $ to employees and more freedom for employees is a bad thing in your book. I am glad to hear you admit it. The areas where consumers pay for their own care, prices are actually coming down. That is what my plan encourages. With the healthcare $ from their jobs, they do exactly that.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
so the reall issue facing Americans is CHOICE, FREEDOM, and not AFFORDABILITY?
you still havent told me how this is going to reduce costs and the reason is becuz you dont know. everything republicans come up with is in the experimental stage. it's only AFTERWARDS when the public has gotten burned we can see the results of it. I dont want to take any chances with any plans the REPUBLICANS have in mind! Everything they touch is a disaster
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 2
@Piglatinsuperstar Your ignorance of how markets work is NOT a failure on my part. And it is nice to see that lack of choice and FORCE solutions are high on your list of priorities while freedom obviously is not.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
yeah and what economics text do you pull this out of? you are GROSSLY uneducated and misinformed! not to mention the way you fabricate most of your information on the spot. This really shows by the way you refuse to say how Ryan's plan will drop the price of coverage. no one is interested in these worthless vouchers!! Nor are they interested in having "'choice" as a selling point while being unable to afford coverage
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 4
Here's another trick the republicans like to play on you and me
Keep your eye on the ball "it's about freedom and choice. We dont have a affordability problem we have a CHOICE problem"
This is basically all they do. Conservatives give no solution to the problems but instead fabricate another problem that has no bearing on our situation. Let's not discuss the flaws in the Ryan program but instead make this all about "choice" amd "freedom" which is where we want to keep the conversation
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 4
@Piglatinsuperstar BWAHAHAHAHAA Well, I can not tell you the exact title of the economic text that it came from, I had so many different ones on the way to my PhD in economics. But, I CAN tell you this. It was probably in my HIGH SCHOOL freshman econ class. That is the absolutely the most basic economic tenet there is.
Competition improves both quality AND price for the consumer.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich

Since you have a PHD in Econ (ha-ha) shouldnt be a problem telling me. Just pull one out of your vast library
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Um just about every one.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
by all means please go on. with the Bush tax cuts in place, why we were losing so many jobs until the Obama stimulus went into effect and actually reversed the trend which we see in ever increasing #s
also explain how to increase revenues as your tax base dwindles. Just HOW DO you increase revenues with less jobs available combined with less taxes imposed on corporations?
you're not very anxious to answer are you? and if you lie again you know I'll call you out on it
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 2
watch it everyone, he's got a PHD!
(or so he says)
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 3
@Piglatinsuperstar The job losses were not a result of the tax cuts, they were the result of a housing bubble and bad banking practices by consumers, banks, investors and government.Oh, and the recession ended BEFORE any significant policy of Obama's had taken effect.You CAN'T very well increase revenues with a shrinking tax base - that is my point! Less taxes on corporate investment INCREASES jobs and EXPANDS the tax base AND lowers the incentive to move $ and jobs offshore.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich
Piglatinsuperstar 8 months ago 2
@Piglatinsuperstar The tax base wasn't reduced UNTIL the Democrats took over congress. After the tax cuts and before the Democrats took over, there were 9 MILLION new taxpaying individuals and a multitude of new businesses that were being taxed - in other words the tax based INCREASED.
I already cited the BLS and the 2010 Economic Report of the President that shows this. IF you could read, you would know just how stupid you sound.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
