@gir184 Honestly I can say that my Wheaten, Hamlet, will grab stuff and run around with it but he just wants to play. They are smart which can make them seem disobedient. It doesn't take long for Hamlet to learn a new trick. We do mind games for him like hiding a treat inside a rag and having him untie the knot to get it. So yea they will steal stuff to play with you and they are smart which can make them seem disobedient cause they think "Well I don't feel like doing that right now so I won't.'

Theres not much you can do, I have a wheaten as well, and HAD a shi-tzu, wheatens DO NOT like other dogs because they get jelouse easily, wheatens love attention from the owner alone, once you put the wheaten with the shi-tzu the wheaten wont respond to you anymore, so my dad gave back the shi-tzu to his causin where he got it from. If your going to put any dog with your wheaten it mine as well be its own breed because there so playful with each other, especially if there male. Dont do it. :))))
Male wheatens are more active with other breeds, I have a Girl and there still extremely playful with other dogs but if you give one dog to much attntion the female gets jelouse and mad unlike the male which is more layback than that.

well we have the wheaton for about 8 days and she is a handful. She can be the most adorable teddy bear. she wa doing great with papertraining and now she just want to rip the paper to shreds. She came from Missouri and it seems like every sound here on Long Island excites her..................am I expecting too much for 8 days and a 10 week old? I know its always the owner but she doesnt listen very good ........do they ever calm down ....yikes do they have a resale value.
do not give up. i have 2 wheatens and one came from missouri too! they are always going to be hyper, its what they do. they will always be curious about noises and stuff. eventually she will just get used to the noises, but still I have an 11 year old and everytime the lawnmower comes around he goes nuts. my other one who is a girl she doesnt care about noises anymore. it really depends on the dog. you will just have to train her. i wouldnt give up, just train her to listen
das pretty good for a puppy mine is 2 years old so she is a little more matured but she does still poop in the house every month or so the nipping will get better trust me
Aww <3. In this she's the same age as my boys, Woody & Buzz. It's so great to see Wheaten owners showing their pride ^^. Wheatens have become so popular! A few years ago, hardly anyone in my neighborhood knew what a Wheaten was. Nellie is adorable! ^__^
We're just mad about our Wheaten, Harpo. She turned one last week. Except for a blonder face, she's very like Nellie (they all look like sisters).
We haven't had the "problems" that a lot of Wheaten owners seem to have. She's a little loud in the evenings if someone walks past our door, but she's just doing her job and keeping us safe. If she does something wrong (chews on a book, say), just telling her no seems to work.
@gir184, wheatens have more good things about them. They are affectionate, sensitive, intelligent, and happy-go-lucky dogs that are open to experience. Yes, they create mischief, but only out of sheer playfulness. Even their "bad" qualities are ultimately endearing and amusing. My current wheaten is so affectionate and loving...I've never seen any dog like this before, not even close. I'd never own a dog of another breed - not after owning two wheatens.
That is lovely, but it makes me cry. Reminds me of my wheaten- kelly. She will be 7 years old in January. She was stolen on 29th october 2007 from outside our house. We miss her loads and hope to get her back soon.
You guys do such a great job with these videos. Our wheaten, Oliver, has so many of the same charecteristics as Nellie. They are so great, aren't they?!!!

Just like my Sam used to look. He coat was so
amazing when he was about 8 months. It was cream with black tips. And then I had to cut his hair. It now grows out much more red.
They have amazing personalities if you can
keep up with them.
