@M44hk it's actually Southern England. (Only in Southern England do they say feaver as opposed to Feather!) The accent changes in the Midlands, changing again to Northern, then obviously different again as you enter Wales, Scotland or Ireland. English is great it is the main language of the world!
@chas4551 Well i'm from the midlands and those of the midlanders who have poor pronunciation (which is a LOT of people) the "th" in most words is replaced by "v" or "F" .
But yeah they're the most common divisions of accents in England.
The other two big ones being Scouser and Brummie (Liverpool and Birmingham) Not being limmited to the two cities, these unfortunate accents spread to the surrounding towns as well.
This comment being for the benefit of non-British-dwelling people of course.
Great Video. What's the name of the knife you use in this video? Also, I see at the end you put the salami into a green collapsable cup - what do you think of these cups? I thought they were great until I had a cup of tea in them - the tea gets cold too quick. I've watched a lot of survival & bushcraft videos but your videos really are brilliant. Good work!
if i had brought enough food to replace the energy that i had used, then ye bow drill would be fine, but its a waste of time if you have no food or water close by.
the feather stick trick should work really well. There are some other vids on the internet about lighting fire after a rain, but the general idea is that you want to split wood because the insides are usually dry even if the outside looks soaked.
yes thats spot on, thats my prefered method but its all in the tinder collection preperation, its always best to keep some dry tinder with you and only use it when you cant collect it dry,
true, keeping at least some dry tinder on your person, even if its just a small wad of juniper bark, is usually a good idea. takes little to no space either. Or tampons haha
ye thats right if you cannot find any natural tinder to keep then i would definatly go for tampons as they space save, they are vacuum packed cotton wool. Just fluff them up and throw a spark in and bobs your uncle
alright mate. i've been missing ya vids. you should do a vid on food prep with your food sealer device. i'm sure everyone else would like to see that.
p.s. all i need now is a warmer sleeping bag and a mat and i'm away. sweet. looking forward to it.
Thanks for the info mate. Don't mind getting one of them coats

At the intro of your video, you show how to descend by using rope. Could you make a video on that? What device do you use and how you use it. Thanks.

wat would u do if u had no embers an just started new?
gralo5 2 years ago
probably use either char cloth with some dried tinder or some tinder card.
wall2rockclimber 2 years ago
@gralo5 then you could use a bow drill/hand drill to get an ember, then blow it into a flame

I'm the same, group trips are a laugh but but solo lets you connect a bit more, less distractions. Good work old chap.

awesome video. Do you often do trips on your own?
wildguys2 2 years ago
thank you, yes most of my trips are on my own, i do go to some organized meets with around 9-11 people but i do enjoy my trips alone.

@wall2rockclimber Hi Mike,
I've often thought about solo camping, but been put off by certain things, like getting injured. Do you have any tips for solo camping?
