Clay's voice vs. Ruben's---Ruben does have a nice voice but it is almost a 'one-note' voice. Clay's vocal talents are way above Ruben's and most of the other finalists that appeared on AI. Clay also has the much better stage presence. He has appeared on live stage, on tv, in print, etc. more than ALL the other contestants combined. There is no arguing that. His over-all talents are far and above the majority of the contestants. Clay beat the living daylights out of Ruben as THE winner of AI2.

Ruben does have that pitiful face (lol!) But on a serious note, he has a beautiful voice. When he's singing, he doesn't look like that. And the statement that "it's unquestionable that clay's the best" is your opinion and that's okay because we all have a right to our opinion. In my opinion, Clay is not even on Ruben's level. Clay has a very nice voice but he gets on my nerves after a while. Even on this song; it's something BUGGY about him after a while. Ruben is cool and he can SANG!!

Actually, as I'm reading my comment back tonight, I was a little unfair in my comments towards Clay. I have actually always felt that Clay was a very good singer. That noted, I guess a better way of putting it is that sometimes he is too proper and precise in the way that he delivers his songs. If he could loosen up a bit and have a bit more fun, it would be nice. If we're speaking voice alone, his voice is nice. I personally prefer Ruben's whole style more but it doesn't mean Clay can't sing.

Oh, I already know that! You don't have to 'break it to me'. I agree with you totally! But in some cases, the BEST does win. Like this case. Ruben was the best. I think Kelly Clarkston and Tamyra Gray were a tie so Kelly deserved it. Fantasia was definitely the best in her season. Latoya, Jennifer, and George sang just as well but Tasia had the whole package. This year both David's were great but in my opinion, Archuleta is the better vocalist. So again, I know it's all about the votes.

Clay did a good job with this song specially hitting up the bridge part...perfect!you are the best!i should get a copy of your cd,Jeffrey Osbourne is great knowing that he is the original one but he turns me down when i watched his live video the bridge part,he is supposed to hit it up the shout part but his back up did it,so i think ain't good!it sounds like he only can sing it well on studio records but not live as what clay Aiken did.he really justified this song beautifully!
