  • Cool!

  • He can hold a note longer than should be possible.

  • This is beyond Awesome..

  • AMAZING sustain at 3:04 and 3:48!!

  • One may think the video is bad quality... but those colors around him are the energy (prana, chi) that is raised within and around him by the transcending nature of his music.

  • musicalmente: halucinante; cientificamente: inspirante como un fresco respiro

  • este es el sonido real de santana....this is the real sound of santana.

  • シブい

  • After hearing this for the first time i think i know where the inspiration came for gary moores parrisiene walkways especially the opening of this song

  • When he played the L6-S and Yamaha he had a much more distinctive tone than when he switched to PRS, with the PRS he sounded like someone imitating Carlos Santana

  • @bigmarkus1961 I agree that was a sick tone. Guess PRS paid him more

  • sin comentarios

  • FELIX JUSTO FREIJE AS CARLOS SANTANA

  • The prs looks best on him

  • There are some artist that make me feel like quitting sometimes at guitar but something like this just makes me wanna composee..

  • best version of them alll.......and that sustain is amazing, he should really consider reverting back the the yamaha

  • THE BEST VERSION!

  • ya.. New Years Eve 1976, at the Cow Palace in San Francisco Carlos made everyone yell Love 3 times and then he started this song, as soon as he hit the first note the chick standing next to me just passed out, I was 14 and it was the first concert my mom ever let me go to, Eddie money played that night as did Journey...I'll never forget it, thank you Carlos..I love you man

    Chet

  • Noticed this melody suffered changes over the years compared with original version. They're all genial but I definitely feel this one more!

  • He was 29 at that time but he seems like he's 56 or something

  • Que genio por dios,increible

  • omg !

  • oops bad spelling , this is Classic Santana

  • is theer a mute button?

  • @ZACMYSTR0 LOL nice try

  • That Fuckin' Sustain !!!

  • Wow! maestro Santana.

  • ONE OF MY FIRST CONCERTS 1976/77? I WAS ONLY LIKE 12 Y/O, AT CAL-JAM LIVE IN ONTARIO CALIF!? ANYONE GOT VIDEO OF THAT CONCERT? IT WAS LIKE A 70'S WOODSTOCK IN SOCAL

  • I have not even been conceived yet and I love classic rock.

  • Wow, This song was rocking way before I was born!!!

  • the beginning and the middle and the end....

  • When man and guitar become one!!

  • You can see his golden aura.

  • Oh God I cry every time I hear this... It's just so powerful.. Lyrics weren't needed to meticulously tell a tale as beautiful and majestic as Carlos did. That's why I supremely believe that a guitar is the most emotionally perfect instrument at communicating besides the voice. It may not be the easiest, but it is the best.

  • as far as instrumentals go, the DONT get any better than this number from the incomperable carlos santana...brings up great memories of nights in "the ville," or as we affectionately called it, "silver city," or "A-town" in korea

uh MrBillydoo...you should have got the album or casette instead of the 8 track.,...then there would have been NO break in the tune as you described

  • brate ovo je "Samba pa ti"

  • Carlos at his best.

  • sustain for days!!!!!!!!

  • dear youtube there is a button "I do not like" in this video and has been used please fix your error

  • tòll_bÌÑ_supÈr_ÐrÃÙf_grÃÐé_sücht_mãl_ãÙf_gÓöglê_ñÁch:_geldeasy_Ës_klàppt_wÎê_gÊschmíËrt

  • I had this song on 8 track and it switched tracks right in the middle of that beautiful sustain. I'm so glad that technology has moved forward since then! Viva Santana!!

  • The best version I've ever heard...

Not only Santana but the organist is also great...

    so emotional and soul touching...

  • The best version I've ever heard...

Not only Santana but the organist is also great...

  • I first heard the Moonflower album in 1978, when I was a Junior in High School. It's been my favorite album, and Europa has been my favorite song ever since. I never get tired of hearing it.

  • This is the best performance for this song. Wow 1976!!! and he still playing. ^ ^

  • THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BALLAD IN ROCK MUSIC: "EUROPA"

  • who in their right mind would DISLIKE this song?!?!?!??!?!?!

    ARE YOU CRAZYYY!!!!!!!

  • @sj1866 there are idiots everywhere...

  • @artu17ro worlds filled with them

  • I wonder how many kids were conceived while this song played.

  • @PocoPortillo

one million thoumbs up for u my friend!!

  • Yamaha SG sustain - hehe. Gotta love that brass plate under the bridge...

  • @VolleKraft Yeah, but they weighed a ton. Plus the strap got in the way when you went down. Unlike Gibson sg's that also had the strap in the same place, they were beveled to provide easier access. The Yamaha's sounded fine, they were just hard to play, plus they weren't very balanced, but you're right the had incredible sustain, even more then a Paul(Although my old Bean-TB 1000 sustained like nothing ever made).

  • this man is my god.

  • I always get the chills :D

  • I am missing you sooooo much my baby brother......Gio. You and I cried to this song we wiped each others tears...... God knows I love u so much!

This was the year you were born..

  • Merci Mr Carlos à ce niveau ce n'est plus de la musique c le ♥

  • Dedicated to someone very special..

  • this proves that great guitar isnt just about playing as fast as you can its about making the

    guitar speak

  • es el maestro de la guitarra lo mejor es como si lo hiciera hablar ...que sensacional su musica

  • Yamaha SG series.. Great guitar!!

  • Carlos should go back to his SG

  • @BEDBURN But his SG also had his old pickups from his Les Paul installed in it. Carlos didn't like the original Yahama pickups. So he had his old ones installed.

  • @BEDBURN prs pays more

  • very calming...I could listen to this all day lmao

  • Not a Gibson or a Fender, or a Paul Reed Smith, but a Japanese made Yamaha SG 2000.

  • Yamaha sg baby!!!!!

  • probably the best video clip EVER of CDS and the boys doing what they do best....muchos gracias...:)

  • such a rip on moore...

    moore ftw.

  • @Crazybenjiwoo this is the dorian mode,. I can't recall Moore every recording a single song in the dorian mode. moore was strictly a blues scale and aeolian mode guy.

  • ughhh fack santana :( I can never get that sustain!

    **super jelly**

  • @Liquidlex6 Get a MK1 Mesa Boogie and turn that mother fucker up.

  • @Liquidlex6 U need to get into a position in front of ur amp so u can get a feedback loop going. It's mostly feedback, but certain guitars do it better also. Santana had damn near infinite sustain when he played either his Gibson L6 or his Yamaha SBG. The Yamaha had a metal plate under the bridge that enhanced sustain. Other guitars are tougher because they are designed to block feedback. The Les Paul and PRS is tougher to get that long sustain the the previous guitars I mentioned.

  • i love this song!!!!

  • しびれる

  • 2:20 fuckkkkkk imagine if he would of kept that sistain

  • got to be from the Moonflower tour,,

  • Easy ?? Well some parts perhaps , but there are also some pretty complex parts to the solos. I can guarantee you that % 99 of guitar players could not play this ( whole song) note for note. There are some guitar players out there that can play the notes but do not have the feel ,so I agree with you on that part for sure. And yes I played for years went through Berkley one and two etc.

  • 29 people need to get better speakers on their computer

  • THIS SONG MAKES YOU FEEL WAY DOWN DEEP IN YOUR SOUL VERY SPIRITUAL

  • ARRIBA ESTE REPRESENTANTE MEXICANO!!!

  • Latino powerhouse! Carlos thankyou for the warm welcome 1972.

  • Guitare, orgue Hamond, batterie, tout est bon. Pas une ride après plus de 30 ans. Super!!!

  • can u say sustain!!!

  • This is the Song of all Songs. The live version on the Moonflower LP/CD is as perfect as a song and a musician can be perform. Carlos has enough material to make a CD called, "Spiritual Santana."

  • Who ever said mexicans coulnt rock? Talk about a dream act.

  • @eezzeemon

Rhetorical of course, but who ever did say that was not named Carlos.

  • Som profundamente vindo da alma e do coração! Mais bacana ainda quando entra essa rumba na metada da música! Que swing cara!!

  • The mute button should be disabled for this video...

  • @garp4817 there is a mute button for this video?

  • @garp4817 There is a mute button?

  • ..my kind of lullaby.

  • Thats a Yamaha SG 2000. The guitar that Carlos helped fine tune. Heavy, with outstanding sustain and build quality

  • I SAW HIM PLAY THIS SONG IN KARLSRUHE W-GERMANY IN 78 ,LISTENING TO THIS STILL SENDS CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE.HE IS STILL ONE OF THE BEST TODAY,THANKS TO A CLEAN LIFESTYLE.PURE TALENT

  • brilliant

  • Immortel !!!!!

  • best guitar player in the world

  • europa me gusta mas con ese sonido que con el de la PRS

  • 3:13 He came. We all did.

  • @Tiduses1 lol he came twice, the second time was at 4:11, what a fucken champ lol

  • It's Magic!

  • he sings throug the guitar!

  • he looks like the guy from hall n oats in this period or vise versa

  • An old Mesa boogie set correctly will produce that sustain at any volume. You just have to find the sweet spots.

  • Anyone else have an eargasm? goddam !
