No doubt Ryan won the fight but if anything, this fight proved that there are two rule sets in baseball: one for the superstars (Ryan) and one for everyone else (Ventura). While pitchers are usually thrown out of the game after a fight, Ryan was allowed to stay in. During the video, you can see the umpires asking Ryan if he's 'alright'. This is why no one takes MLB seriously anymore... you can't just pick and choose who gets to follow the rules. Other pitchers that year were tossed for similar.
