Well maybe everywhere else, gamers live the good life with great technology jobs, they're in great shape and drive BMWs, but the gamers I am acquainted with don't have any of that: they either just got their girlfriends pregnant, they're jobless, broke, and don't want to do anything except smoke weed and play video games. At least when I look back on my life, I will have things that I actually DID, and not say, "gee I could have done something if I hadn't played games all the time."
The majority of gamers are NOT programmers, computer scientists or "highly successful people." Admit it: you work shit jobs like everyone else, and the only reason you have for living is to be King SuperBigDick on MegaWorldFighter 7 or some such nonsense. All you can talk about is video game this and video game that and it's no wonder gamers have the reps they do.
@outlaw2747 your absolutely correct! id rather play video games and spend my time constructively, than go out get drunk out my mind and run after loose chicks. ive been out there and most of the ravers (excluding the students) are low lifes that get drunk to temporarily distance the reality of their sad lives. most games are smart enough to play WOW or COD ect than be sitting in a 4x4 cell in jail beacause they had too much to drink. lol

For example, computer scientists, game designers, developers, and software engineers who may work for gaming industries and have a six figure income.

I'm keeping to myself and not bothering anyone playing Gears of War or Street Fighter 4, yet I'm a loser for not getting drunk off my ass and banging random bar skank getting and STD here and there. Gimme a break. I'm an avid gamer and I have more of a life than the idiots that want to club, smoke, and screw all damn day.
I would quit my job at L-M Aerospace tomorrow to be avid game tester. BTW gamers are the best simulation testers for aerospace systems. Gamer since PS1,also, Stanford Grad since 2000.

If anything gamers are simply escaping the real world in their own way without getting drunk, getting high, (there are exceptions) getting STDs and unwanted children. Neither are they being locked up as much.
