  • i thought the prequel was awesome. i´m from Norway, so it´s extra cool that they actually used norwegian actors this time

  • @karaokekongen It's the bloody Norwegians that started it all!

  • This isn't the original...

  • I hear this music when the in-laws pull into my driveway for christmas lunch...

  • listen to this on halloween by myself brings back good memories

  • YEAH WELL FUCK YOU TOO-Kurt Russel

  • The prequel should of had more things like the Palmer thing

  • @857Evan Thats impossible. No two things are alike. Its like a snowflake, its never the same thing twice.

  • @857Evan the prequel is shit... .

  • @MrPopeye232323 I liked it, but it was not even close to the 1982 film

  • Listen to this, it just sends chills up your spine. It's like something is walking after you, following you but you can neither see nor touch it. Only hear it as it draws in closer and closer for the kill.

  • Strange sounds from above. SCALAR Clouds. Russians lost on the ice.

    It's the end, my friends.

  • amazing film, i peed in my pants

  • kurt russell is one badass mother fucker

  • @oOResidentEvil He has an EPIC Beard!

  • I used to like this movie until Itook an Ice Pick to the knee...

  • @Xile2012 Retard

  • @MountainFox51 No I should of said. "I used to like this movie until I took a gunshot to the knee." *Bennings* (xD)

  • i downloaded the soound track.

  • Sounds like it's an re-done version from the new movie. Def. not the exact same as the original

  • @Hallinilla9 wtf? ... this is the original

  • @NitooJackerarg No. It's basically the same thing but it's slightly different.

  • @Hallinilla9 oh .. thats because it was assimilated

  • @NitooJackerarg You might be right.... :O

  • @NitooJackerarg No it isnt, are you retarded? This is that really bad cover version, NOT the Ennio Morricone theme.

  • How the fuck did the razzie awards nominate this for the worst soundtrack?

  • @cessebesse WTF ??? For real ?

  • @cessebesse Holywood is stupid, that's why

  • :killitwithfire:

  • okay seriously. don´t hear this when you are alone in the night and is snowing outside

  • the music alone tells you nothing good is coming out of this, lol.

  • CATCH THAT DOG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 6 people are infected.

  • @ChaosNeptune my god now theres 7, its spreading O.O fast

  • @393jalbious lol

  • @ChaosNeptune where dead man quick find something to kill it oh i know o.O (with fire)

  • 8 people failed the blood-test

  • The only thing that scared me about The Thing 2011 prequel was this soundtrack that popped in finally near the end.

  • The first time I saw the 1980's version, I nearly crapped my pants when the doctor was giving CPR to that guy and his chest opened up and broke the doctor's arms off.

  • fuck this theme is brutal, very bif fun of 82' movie!

  • 6 people are the thing...

  • The bad thing(s) about the prequel is that it never brings that suspense/paranoia that the first one did. It was all mosters everywhere killing everything.

  • Can't believe the soundtrack was nominated for a Razzie Award!

  • @JAM5227 Well, they also nominated "Friday The 13th" as one of the worst movies of the year, two years earlier, in 1980. So what do you expect? They're mental!

  • I know this theme since my spaceship crashed, and I crawled out of it and freezed in the ice, thousands of years ago.

  • i know this theme since 1994 when i first watched the movie

  • While listening to this OST I have a strange feeling that something is behind me.

  • @MrMareckii91 Strategically, I think we all feel that way.

  • @MrMareckii91 Me too.

  • @MrMareckii91 Oh man as soon I've read your comment I've turned around xD

  • Watching the original and then immediately going to see the prequel with the first movie in mind is one of the best movie experiences ever.

  • 6 people are to afraid to watch The thing

  • Though a lot of people immediately had a bad view of the prequel, it honestly was pretty good. It's worth giving a watch, certainly not as good as the original, but it's pretty damn good.

  • Why do people keep pumping out cheesy remakes/sequals/prequals of old classics (usually ruining them), instead of making something new :/

  • @nick945 Simple, they either can't think of anything new at all, lazy to come up with anything new, or simply say to themselves " It's been done ".

I'd love to see a movie based on the old BBC TV Sci-Fi comedy series " Red Dwarf " [ which is coming back on TV next year ] as a TV Movie. Doug Naylor, who created the series with his old mate Rob Grant, has for about 10 or 11 years been trying to find funding for a Red Dwarf TV Movie, but clearly now has given up and making a new series.

  • music by ENNIO MORRICONE!!!

    yes...once again!!!

    l

  • I read on the Wiki that Ennio Moricon "won" a Razzie for this. What a shame he should have won an Oscar for this !!!

  • Typing this in internet cafe...

Should start walking to my home... and there's cold and snowy out there...

    Oh fuck.

  • @eiberhofje It was only nominated, and didn't win. I totally agree though, this soundtrack kicks major ass. So freakin' moody and chilling.

  • fucking sick soundtrack

  • The prequal to this i thought was really good. Answered a few questions and ends right where JC's starts. They could have made the story less alike but still thought it was worth watchin

  • One other thing: I think it rips through your clothes when it takes you over. Windows found Bennings' torn and bloody clothes in the storage room after he was taken over. Earlier, Nauls found a pair of shredded and dirty longjohns in the kitchen trash can, but the nametag was missing. They could be anybody's. Nobody... nobody trusts anybody now, and we're all very tired... There's nothing more I can do, just wait... This is R.J. MacReady, helicopter pilot, US outpost #31

  • Ditto!

  • i liked the new one, yes it was like the original but that's no bad thing in my opinion, it stayed faithful and was a lot better than most other recent horror movies.

  • The best theme on the best horror movie.

  • Thumbs up if you knew about the movie before 2011 prequel

  • @normandusvang God i hate that prequel

  • @drwhomasterfan

The CG and the writing killed it. It left a lot of unanswered questions.

  • @normandusvang Ehm...everyone knew about the movie before 2011 prequel.

  • @RUBENSolol congratulations!

  • @normandusvang THE best horror movie ever made !

  • @normandusvang

I'd like to have a talk with someone who didn't.

  • @normandusvang I think you'd have to be locked in a small shed with nothing but a noose and bottle of vodka if you had never heard of The Thing before last year

  • @TwistedMetalLegion uuh .....yeah sure

  • @normandusvang How can you not !? It's only one of the best horror movies ever !! It's FREAKING John Carpenter the guy who made Halloween In the Mouth of Madness and The Thing or in other words the master of horror !

  • Ennio Morricone's soundtrack completely obliterates the soundtrack to the 2011 prequel.

  • Im not fussed on the new one was not expecting miracle's but the ending was pretty good.

  • Such a shame the prequel was awful. Typical holwood style junk. It could of been amazing but they decided otherwise.

  • so simple and spooky.I love it and the way they used it in the end of the prequel.

  • I watched The Thing with my friend. He complained it was old and looked boring. The scene where they tested the blood. HE. SHIT. HIS. PANTS. Legendary film.

  • backsound uji nyali ^_^

  • What did everyone think of the 2011 version. I think this is more superior but anyone wanna give thoughts?

  • @spyrothedragon590 i saw it, it was unnecessary. the director has probibly seen Carpenter's The Thing once and just didn't have a clue except throw a couple people somwhere cold, give them flamethrowers and a computer alien to save money. but by no account was it any good, Worst remake this year so far.

  • @MrHEC381991 cheers buddy appreciate ur comment. i didn't mind it but i expected so much more!

  • @spyrothedragon590

Personally I liked new Thing,OF COURSE it does not hold plank of the original.

But,it give many answers on questions that was asked in original.(alien ship etc.)

And BTW the ending of the new movie is really good(I mean ending credits or...)

  • @AlisherUA Well ok, fair enuff, yeah i don't mind it like i said but the 80's one can't be beat. and yeah i like how they extend on scenes and payed homage to the original by putting that ending scene with the dog.

  • @MrHEC381991 That seems alittle harsh. I think the director did some nice nods to the 1982 movie (axe in the doorway, burning the lady-thing and the glasses dude outside, certain angle arrangements etc etc). Of course the movie's plot was pretty much the 1982 Thing which peeved me with it's unoriginality and the musical score and the way it was directed killed the feeling the 1982 movie gave, but overall I thought it was still enjoyable and was pretty faithful. Just...a little shitty is all.

  • @UncleShoveit Great comment that's what i said when the movie finished. To much cgi and the element of surprise went rather quickly.I was toward's the ending thinking o.k. now what????It's a good film but doesn't come close to the original...........!

  • @UncleShoveit he remake or should i say remake of a remake is a total loss like a lot of the other crap.

  • @WorldTributes the 2011 version is not a remake, it's a Prequel of the 1982 version...

  • @TheAlien659 Well i skimped thru it and the plot looked so alike. Makes no difference because 'Time Wasting Crap' is its proper name.

  • @WorldTributes ,Couldn't disagree more but let me know when you make a better film and I'II go and see it :)

  • @zagreus316 Yup! I suppose u will be telling me next this is somehow better than the carpenter version as well? You see crap sells and this is why they make so much of it! They pay these so called top box office stars more money than a decent script writer will ever get and so we keep getting the same stuff because morons like you with no idea of quality think its marvelous. You get the picture now jackoff?

  • @WorldTributes Wow, touched a nerve there, chill your beans kid, actually the prequel was not better than Carpenter's version and I like that film more but at the same time I don't live in the past and accept that times have changed along with movie making techiniques, it was a decent enough prequel and was not crap in my opnion. After all, you may be surprised to learn that people do have other opinions. It could be worse though, I could be a nostalgic moron like your good self

  • @zagreus316 Nostalgia has nothing to do with it son!

  • @WorldTributes PS That's all I have to say on the matter but feel free to reply with another burst of amusing (yet disappointingly predictable) insults as I'm sure you won't be able to resist the urge to have the last word. C u next Tuesday :)

  • @zagreus316 Thus spake the computer!

  • First goddamn week of winter...

  • Few other themes convey such a sinister, hopeless feeling like this one does. You know there's nothing cute about the movie when this comes on, something evil is out there...

  • Seriously, this theme song is kick-ass.

  • @REGirYoshiSuper8 dude you must listen to theme of scape from new york

  • 6 things dislike this...

  • This is not the original theme by Morricone but still it's a great version.

  • Thumbs up if you was scared of your dog after watching this movie

  • @R3stor

Even if my dog was the thing i would still love her/him cant ever let em go so if it had to go so be it me to :).

Animals mean more to some people than others Clark was an animal lover when Blair killed the dogs he lost it so would i just saying :P.

  • heh little Thing can try Arnie, it'll meet it's end since he's a cyborg and it can only mimic organic nyeheheh ;D

  • Simply amazing, and it has stood the test of time I'm proof of that bc I was born in 1990 long after this movie was made..

  • The ending of the prequel was so fucking awesome!

  • @XTacoMangX i know right. i was like a little school girls, giggling and such

  • i have only one question: how did the "thing" build the spaceship?

  • @wwwwwkz It probably didn't. some other alien species prob did and the thing mimic'd one of them then the ship crashed on earth in the fight.

  • @wwwwwkz The thing most likely mimiced and consumed the original alien race that possessed those ships. That or it escaped.

  • @wwwwwkz well what i think is that once it takes over something it knows what it knows, even when it turns into something else it remembers

  • What if the Thing was real... and you didn't know it... :)

  • @Armageddon1986

Actually minus the aliens it is true they do have research teams out their you could go but it costs way to much just be be lurker.

Hope that clears up the whole no one is out in them regions of the earth conversation :).

  • @AlienTechProductions lol I know. Was just joking saying maybe people you know are really the Thing...

  • @Armageddon1986

:) hey if your interested you could study to be a scientist and apply to go out and research in the Antarctic if your serious D: <

But yes they are real of course they are " I am serious we do have other species on this planet but they are hard to find because they already understand the way we live !.

  • @AlienTechProductions you're, not your.

  • One of the best Scfi Alien hit movies.

  • if u want the download link watch my vid Like

The Thing 1982 download (Link in the description)

  • The thing 2011 is coming out in December make sure to watch it looks good.

• This is by ennio morricone I thought. Who did all those great spaghetti western soundtracks

  • John Carpenter composed this right?

  • @agnernai

No, he directed the movie "The Thing", and also some other great movies like "Big Trouble in Little China", "Halloween", "They Live" and some other films.

  • @ChiefTac Thanks, I'm aware of John's work, was misinformed because of his extensive musical background and in one interview he explained how he came up with the theme on a synth. Not sure where I saw that interview now, of course.

  • @agnernai You were right actually. I'm not sure if Ennio Morricone actually composed the theme itself, but John Carpenter replaced and added to a few of the tracks himself.

  • @ChiefTac

"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass!"

  • The Thing was about the characters and their paranoia and tenstion among each other, then when the alien comes out, things are just even scarier

  • i dont intend to spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS F****** COUCH !!!!

  • @leandean100 i do

  • thumbs up if you looked this up after watching Jeremy Jahns review The Thing

  • @MrDieselEnergie Nope. But I watched the review after reading your comment. It was a mistake...

  • @MrDieselEnergie Lol how do you know

  • I have the soundtrack and it doesn't sound anything like this. That is why I didn't think Ennio did it.

  • @Alienmojo ditto man. i wonder who performed this piece...

  • awesome soundtrack. minimalism. werd.

  • This music...combined with that poster......I'm going to sleep with a flamthrower tonight...

  • This song always gives me the creeps...

  • bernard hermann and ennio that's it.

  • Yep, Morricone is God.

  • John Carpenter is the Stephen King of movies!

  • I miss the good old days; when seeing a Carpenter film easily trumped a Speilberg.

  • That song is called "Humanity"...

  • the dog that I found yesterday acts funny...

  • @PCgamer474 KILL IT KILL IT WITH FIRE

  • @PCgamer474 Don't worry if it was a "thing" you wouldn't be able to tell it was acting funny until it grows a second head.

  • @FeelFreetoDie even imitations dont know they are imitations like palmer and norris they dont really know who is and who isnt they find out when they are forced to mutate

  • @PCgamer474 was it licking your face alot then proceeded to walk around very eerily like?

  • I cant wait to see what happened at the other camp in the new Thing!

  • I recommended The Thing to a friend and he didn't watch it through because he said the special effects weren't up to 'Transformers standard'... o_0

Suffice to say, he is no longer my friend. ~_~

  • @Sablicious Honestly if someone said that to me I'd probably have that same reaction. I mean yeah some of the effects are a bit dated but they are still amazing to look at. the fact that it was all practical and no CGI was used whatsoever is great too. Something modern films really need to do

  • Comment removed

  • "Neither of us is in any condition to do anything about it if we're infected.......let's just sit here for a bit......see what happens........."

  • @boettcherownzu John Carpenter had originally planned a sequel with Kurt Russell and Keith David returning and surviving. His explanation as to why they looked older was frostbite.

  • @spiritgirl41192 I guess that plan is out the window. Sucks cause that would have been interesting. But looking back I think the ending is good. I mean yeah it's ambiguous and far from happy but it's appropriate i think

  • This music is really eerie.

  • I hate it when I'm watching this music and my mom sneaks up and hugs me :I

    I practically wet myself

  • this movie has to be one of the most wicked mindbending scariest movie of the 80s

  • @marceltion It's a seminal film. Many other movies borrowed from it, like Alien(s). Dead Space the video game is a practical rip-off of this film.

  • @Sablicious It's more of a homage than a rip-off.

  • @marceltion of all time i like to think

  • @marceltion Probably of all time mate, its awesome.

  • @marceltion

WoW i watched this when i was 7 or 8 years old and after that i no longer had normal dreams !
