  • Christianity does't force, it mearly asks; a Christian gives by choice. This is the difference from Marxist dogma.

For he who does not work, neither shall he eat.

    -- Paul, II Thessalonians 3:10

  • why dont you use a clip of nelson mendella chanting anti-white communist speeches to his parasitic animal masses, instead of using a hero like hitler speaking to the healthy, good natured white boys? it is in the aryans nature to be altruistic, this why parasitic races flourish in white societies. surely, even to the creator of this channel, i am sure it angers him to see a communist monkey in the "white" house, grunting policy, and ruling over his life

  • @iTROLL9000 not all, but the majority of whites are altruistic. its why society is what it has become

  • and the officer said, but did he say you could have THAT cigarette, and the soldier said no. so the officer took him out and shot him in the head. if that's not anti-communism, i don't know what is. and hitler never committed suicide, that is allied propaganda

  • sum1 told me a story about nazi soldiers. they had to keep their wall lockers unlocked, and one time an officer came into the barracks and a caught another soldier looting through another soldiers locker, while the other soldier was outside training. and the officer asked that man if those were his cigarettes, and the soldier replied no they are my friend's but we share everything..

  • Altruism is the egoism of the weak!

  • There are multiple ways to interpret what Sam Harris said there. It's a bit vague.

  • how could anyone take ayn rand serious and why nobody understand that the conclusion of Objectivism is rational atheism???

  • "To each according to his ability" is good, but if you are unwilling to partner with those who may not be as skillful or as motivated as you, you will end up going through life's challenges alone.

  • Altruism is based on the idea that we achieve more as a collective than any one individual can achieve alone. Ayn spoke out against what she called "Looters", but I see nothing wrong with working together as a team - and sometimes a good team member will take up the slack when others on the team are tired, or don't have the vision, or are sick, etc...

  • @Niven42 Utilizing teamwork isnt the essence of Altruism. An egoist can take part in a team and divide up labor in a rational manner, with each earning their respective share of what they have accomplished. What Altruism requires is to take part in a "team", and give up your right to everything you have earned to the rest of the team. The looters quite simply never ask you to join their team, they just take everything that you earn. They value your body on their team, but not your mind.

  • @Niven42 it's the difference between dependence and interdependence. working together by free choice is quite a different thing from being obliged or forced to.

  • hey can you make ep 2, 8, 12 embeddable?

  • @Gu3rr1lla I'd like to, but though no one has complained, those three have "matched third party content-"- YT prohibits sharing when their software flags something, though I can keep it up. If I can ever find out which clip set off the software, I will remove and replace it. In the meantime those three will be limited. Thx.

  • I'm with teeterharris on this. Please allow mobile viewing.

  • This is the worst thing about Ayn; all the "if you're not an objectivist, this is what you think *long list of far reached and faulty conclusions*"

Sure, argue for your own philosophy, but don't claim you understand altruism when you clearly don't.

  • Just out of curiosity, why are some of your videos disabled for mobile viewing? Do you have any control over that?

  • I know its a lot to ask Cowboy.. But these videos really deserve a widescreen HD quality.. well done..

  • It's amazing stuff you've made here sir.

It's disturbing, offensive, and enlightening to me simultaneously.

Thank you for the opportunity to see my favorite novel put into such an intense visual format.

Oh, and by the way, who is the speaker from 1:43 to 2:03?

  • Non-contradiction; You cannot become prosperous by giving. either-or; you can't have your cake and eat it too. A is A; facts are not subjective or debatable. Facts and reason are our means of problem solving. Problem solving is our means of survival and progression. Mysticism and religion work collectively to destroy our means of evolving by asking one to give up his thinking brain for wishing and charity, which gets swallowed indiscriminately by the one's who recieve it.

  • @MrMadhatter17 Depends on an individual's take on prosperity. If your basing prosperity on material things, then your 100% correct on that particular point. Giving or sharing when you do not feel any obligation to do so can lead to the "experience" of spiritual progression. Some argue for spiritual things, some against, but either way the truth is that it is a phenomenon human beings can experience. Religion can be very beneficial or very damaging. Not a subject that can be labeled so broadly.

  • in terms of religion if one takes what the bible says word for word then they are not taking advantage of God's gift of free will. therefore they are slapping the God they revere unwaiveringly in the face. I am a religious man however when it comes to philanthropy the only words of the bible I really like are "give a man a fish he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish he'll eat for a lifetime." And charity is only charity through free will if it is by force it is not charity.

  • I wish the Atlas Shrugged audio book had this narrators voice.

  • @grassmaster180 Mine does have this narrator's voice: He's Christopher Hurt (Blackstone Audio, 42 CDs in 2 boxes). He did an excellent job of voice-over acting, on "Atlas Shrugged" AND on "The Fountainhead," too (26 CDs). They're great for long commutes and cross-country drives.

  • This is the audio from one of the versions. I dont know which one. YOu can ask the creator of the video.

  • I notice Sam Harris at 1:20 stating that independent and collective well-being are interdependent. I watch many of the most popular atheist YTr's, and see this attitude often. It is frustrating to me that as proponents of rational thought, that they can't see that theocracy and socialism lead to the same end when carried to their logical extremes.

  • @LoydBonifide I do not see why that would be wrong or why it would be conflicting with objectivism. It's easier to achieve well-being in a society where others are well, humans become happy when others are happy (sympathy), and sometimes cooperation can lead to something greater than its parts. Do you think this is incorrect or where exactly is your criticism directed?

  • THey are to the extent of the trader principle which Rand talked about which is not the same as the welfare of others above yourself and your values which is altruism. Totally different things. Unfortunetly, even "Rational" thinkers like Harris and others even dawkins to a certain extent have fallen into this mode.

  • Can someone please tell me the name of the tune that plays around 6:20? I'm looking for some benevolent background music.

  • @ErikNikolai It is the soundtrack from a movie "Empire of the Sun" by John Williams.

  • @free2contemplate Thank you. :)

  • The bearded redhead at 4:30 truly looks like the living embodiment of "incompetence on earth". Good find! :)

  • Yo, real talk, that's what Rihanna be sayin way before dis John. "Live yo life"

  • @Kogerii this speech was written half a century ago

  • @naesdkuma

    Whateva yo

  • @Kogerii Ayn Rand might call that expression a "blank-out." (= an evasion)

  • @xalambalax lol, well put.

  • Yo, real talk, that's what Rihanna be sayin way before dis John. "Live yo life"

  • This is one of my favorite episodes of the John Galt Speaking series. This and the first are my favorites because they sum up the nature of Objectivism and make it understandable and easier to relate to.

Many people find the philosophy difficult to grasp and I did too (and some areas I'm still trying to understand). I will point those people in the direction of your videos.

  • We're all furious with Wolters Klewart Corporate. You should not have a problem gaining view count; it's only a matter of time.
