  • What a wind bag. "We and the middle class. 51% or so do not pay taxes. So who is embattled?

  • She should lose her job, and punished to the fullest extent of the law. When are we gonna stop letting politicians get away with criminal behavior?

  • TYPICAL HYPOCRITE. YOU WANT TO RAISE TAXES ON OTHERS AND YET YOU FAIL TO PAY YOUR OWN TAXES UNTIL THE MEDIA ANNOUNCE YOUR DETESTABLE HYPOCRISY. DISGUSTING.

  • Really? Republicans called for 61 billion in spending cuts that the Democrats REFUSED. Perhaps she's talking about the "tax cuts" in the Obamacare PENALTY.

If you read the small pring of what the Dems want, you'll find all sorts of tax increases on everyone except those on welfare. Welfare recipients get more money back inn taxes, even though most don't work and PAY taxes. Maybe those are her "middle class".

  • It is ignorant Skanks, like this Demoncrap, that should be removed from office and stuck in a padded cell somewhere. THEY are the JOKE! What an Arrogant, Stupid Slut this Skag is!

  • And you and other leftists want to call for violence in the street and then blame Sarah Palin and the tea party when a Marxist Communist Manifesto toting lunatic shoots a conservative Democrat. You should be ashamed. Shame on all of you wicked, evil Communists. We see through your lies and your deceit and you can't stand it, so now you want to come for our guns. Come and get it, bitch.

  • andrewbary Win-Win - Congress proved that they can single out anyone to pay extra taxes by taxing 100% of banker’s bonuses. So the answer is simple, raise the taxes for all Democrats so the government can spend their money as the government sees best. Then lower the taxes for all Republicans so they can create jobs and donate as they see fit. It is a crying shame that people like yourself & Warren Buffet feel like they can’t pay more taxes.

  • andrewbary FYI, I am not saying that we shouldn’t pay taxes or that the government shouldn’t do anything. Actual I would love to see them seal our boarders. Anyway, what I am saying is tax everyone the same, will are all created equal, we all live in America, so we should all pay the same percentage of taxes, no deductions so the rich will continue to pay the majority of the taxes but at the same percentage as everyone else.

  • @keith1Utube1 That's all well and good until you only make 40,000 and the government wants 30% of it. Hard to feed a family on that, no matter how hard you work. The opportunity to make yourself a millionaire is based on the fallacy that everyone can invent something that everyone else will buy 1 of. It just can't happen.

  • andrewbary It is all in the way you are raised. I was taught, America is the land of opportunity. I was taught that education is important, I was taught to work hard. I was also taught the 10 commandments, one being: You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; or anything that belongs to your neighbor. So, why would I want the government to take my neighbors money and give it to me? Where in the Constitution does it say that the government should support us? God bless and Merry Christmas to you

  • andrewbary When I was an E4, I didn’t think it was right that I paid less taxes then other E4’s just because I was married and had kids. I have also seen, that there are a lot of people, that speed their money on material things that they can’t afford and then they want the government to bail them out. I have seen my grandfather save every penny he could, even pulling his own tooth and making a false

  • @keith1Utube1 I think it's interesting that you cite the amazing advances people from other countries have made in america, and the fact that people want to come here because of the chance to move ahead, but conveniently leave out the fact that it's because of the government's progressive policies they have a chance to succeed. Without the government, we would still have child sweatshops in every major city. We would still have nothing to regulate our food and drug industries from poisoning us

  • @keith1Utube1 and we would have no way for your dominican friends to be cared for if they were poor and couldn't afford an operation without the evil socialistic plan known as medicaid. You remind me of Craig T Nelson on Glenn Beck! The gov't helps people so that people can succeed beyond basic subsistence, not to keep dependency. I could say the GOP give tax breaks to the rich to get more money, but I know they just have a different philosophy than I do. God Bless and Merry Christmas:)

  • @cont tooth to save a dime. And it wasn’t because he couldn’t afford it. It doesn’t make since to me that the government would need to support anyone in the U.S.. There is opportunity everywhere. If you want to succeed, you can. Life is full of choices and our success or failure depends on the choices we make. If you choose to buy a house, car, HDTV, wireless phone etc… that you can’t afford or if you choose to do drugs, be lazy, or whatever,

  • @cont then why should the government support you. There are billions of people living in other countries that do not have the opportunities of Americans. This could be another extreme example but I worked with a first generation American. Her family moved from Dominican Republic, they were not rich, but all three of their girls are successful. In America they had the opportunity to get a good education and one worked in telecommunication, one was a lawyer and the other was a doctor.

  • @cont If we tell people there is no consequences for their choices then how can we every expect them to make the right one. If you give someone something, do they take as good a care of it as they do if they worked for it? If you give a man food and shelter he will just expect more. That is the problem we have been supporting the poor and more and more just keep getting poor. We have somewhere around 15 million illegal aliens in the U.S.

  • @contThey didn’t come here because they want to stay poor, them came here for the opportunities available here. The progressive government wants people depending on the government (Them) so they continue to get their vote. They don’t want them to succeed. What we need to do is teach them to take care of themselves. Teach them to not buy what they can’t afford, and if they do there is a penalty for that. Teach then that having more kids doesn’t give them more money it makes them do more with less

  • andrewbary, Thank you for serving too, I think it takes someone in the military to really understand the sacrifice that military people do. It surprises me to see you are in the military after all you did take an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution, not to support a progressive government that is trashing the Constitution. Putting that aside; let me see if I understand what you believe.

  • andrewbary Cont. Let me set the stage. You have a son or daughter that works hard in school and works hard and studies hard to get good grades and to put their selves through college. Then they work hard and put in 12 – 16 hours a day, 7 days a week and they happen to make over $250,000 a year. You also have John who also has a child, but they dropped out of school, and got into trouble with the law. They can’t hold a job because they hate to work, and they make minimal wage.

  • @keith1Utube1 themselves, but make sure the help is available in the first place. I also worry about John's kids. Why should they suffer because their dad is lazy? Ultimately we have to have tools in place to look after the least of us in the society. We can always point to a worst case scenario, but millions have people have moved from poverty to middle class and some even to the riches because they were sustained by a single government program, be it welfare, medicaid, or another.

  • andrewbary Cont. What the government is saying is; that you child should pay more taxes so our government can give more money to John’s kids. I know this is the extreme example, but this is America, and we have the freedom and right to be what we want. The governments jobs is to provide us the opportunity to secede not to give money to those who choice not too.

  • @keith1Utube1 I understand the stage. I also believe that there are many people out there that have succeeded with and because of the government's help (many family and friends of mine, for instance). I am more worried about Fred, who is out there trying to make a living working 12-16 hrs a day but still only brings home 40k a year. Who is making sure that his hard work is rewarded? For every John there is a Fred. Now as I'm sure you're well aware an e4 like myself doesn't make so much as

  • @keith1Utube1 cont. to warrant higher tax rates that Claire is talking about. But with my wife's salary, we get pushed into higher and higher tax brackets. We are proud to pay higher rates based on our hard earned salaries so that Fred has a better chance to succeed (not secede, but I knew what you mean:) ) and maybe Fred will be able to hire John for some part time work. Is it perfect? No, but I am a strong believer the government's role is to look after the people. Help those that help

  • @andrewbary, I am sorry you feel that way. This is the greatest country in the world. I served for 24 years in the USAF along with a lot of other great people, to give you the right and freedom to get an education, to work hard, to get a second job, to open a business, and be whatever you wanted to be. I don’t see how you could feel like you are a slave, serf or peasant. Talk to someone who is serving in the military and ask what it is like in other countries. Or trust me, you are not a slave.

  • @Keith1UTube As a current active duty member in the USAF, thanks for your service. I hope to make my 24 years just as you did. I didn't say I feel that way now, I was saying that in a society where the rich have no responsibility to help out those on the lower end of the economy, we end up in a feudal system. There has to be a balancing agent. Conservatives are so worried about the government having too much power they miss the fact that sometimes it's those with cash that abuse the system.

  • Duckinmypants, what are you trying to say? Who cares what McCain said, he is a Democrat in republican clothing. But what did he say, I missed it? Also I saw your reply to ladylordess; what is wrong with everyone paying their fair share, if you want to tax the rich at 39% then tax everyone at 39%. I don’t see why you want to punish people, who are successful, isn’t that the American dream? FYI – The problem is government spending. Stop wasting money and lower taxes for everyone.

  • Are you happy McCaskil, they are picking up their pitchforks; and you should take the blame because you ask for it. Upscale towns in Massachusetts are on alert as police and fire officials are investigating another fire in which an arsonist scawled a “f*** the rich” graffiti message at the scene.

  • @Keith1UTube Keep watching Fox numbnuts. John McCain said it twice, on two different shows, and the fox host replied "oh yeah!"

  • Why is it that this country is always for those that don’t work or make bad decisions? What I mean is, if you work hard in school and go on to college and then work and save your money then you owe everyone else what you have saved. But if you drop out of school, make bad investments, or spend all your money on material things and you have nothing left, then the government should bail you out. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; ..... or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

  • @Keith1UTube Well said!

  • "I predict future happiness for Americans IF they can prevent the Government from WASTING the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them!" -Thomas Jefferson ...What do our representatives study before they get into office??

  • Claire! You're worth over 250 MILLION Dollars!! (True) What in the name of reality do you know about the middle class?? Wake the hell up people!!

  • @riffjiff How about the fact that she wasn't born into a wealthy household? Political, sure, but not wealthy. Read something.

  • Repeal Obama Care and stop the spending Then you wouldn't take my employers money and he wouldn't be planning on another lay off. tax codes, didn't the guy who wrote that mess just get sensored in the well? Go to a flat tax. YOUR THE JOKE CLAIRE. 2012 can't get here any sooner. This youtube blurb will be played over and over again on my facebook page reminding MIssourians what an IDIOT you are.

  • I'm not a millionaire, but isn't that money you call TAXES....their money that THEY EARNED?......................you're not giving anybody SHIT................YOU ARE TAKING FROM THE RICH TO GIVE TO THE POOR. And that is the folks that write my paycheck you stupid idiot. Stopped grandstanding and shut the hell up!

  • So now, according to Glenn Beck and THE BLAZE, anyone who wants to let the top two income brackets of the Bush tax cuts expire is a class-war Marxist. Kind of like those lovely communist Clintonian years in the 1990s when oppressively high taxes on the rich brought the economy to a halt and jobs and wages collapsed.

The sick part is that commenters there are calling for "commie" liberals to be sent to FEMA camps and waterboarded! The Glenn Beck Youth Brigades are open for enrollment!!!

  • @KarlBonner1982 That's not what he said, he doen't generalize like liberals do.

He said Marxists are opposed to the tax cuts, But that's not why liberals are opposing the tax cuts, the tax code is irrelevant today.

  • Go Claire. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen. Bleeding the middle class to support the upper class is like a balloon without a knot.. To Lbfent2 T-Party. Your selfishness will bring America down.

Signed Millionaire College Graduate MBA Economics

  • @sandyengland32789 so your MBA has taught you that the Middle class is supporting the upper class if the tax structure remains the same? -Even though the top 1% of the earners in this country pay 40% of ALL the taxes? The top 5% pay 53% of ALL the taxes? MBA (My Brain is Absent) you are tribute to the danger of being taught WHAT to think, rather than being taught HOW to think. Indeed, being taught WHAT to think limits the things you are allowed to learn! Millions of dollars? -Congrats!

  • Tax cuts are irrelevant, all of Congrss knows this. So long as we are borrowing and prnting money Tac rates are meaningless. Its just rhetoric intended to fire up the drones on both sides of the isle.

They want war, they want disaster so they can make a move on our guns.

Once again power mongers are going to underestimate the little guy

  • Their is no talk anywhere about tax cuts. The argument is over keeping the tax rates the same as the last several years or increasing them.

  • lbfent2 adn catwhatever are idiots hoodwinked by their party

  • I've never read so many idiotic comments. Guess the Fox 'holes' have decided to attack Sen. McCaskill for the sin of honesty. We have a plutocracy and the politicians who are in the pockets of the wealthy are determined to keep it that way, while the robber barons who want to keep sucking the lifeblood out of the middle class keep slipping it to them. I'd guess that not one person here is wealthy enough to buy their own politician. Don't expect either KY or a kiss from the Republicons.

  • All these comments are worthless here - Claire's website = mccaskill.senate.gov

  • "If we don't GIVE more money to millionaires " You aren't GIVING anything. The millionaires earned their money. How dare you!!!!! You GAVE money to GM. That was a waste!!! You GAVE money for failed stimulus. You can't be trusted with money!!!!!! I prefer which charities I give to and it isn't for the government to mismanage. You already mismanage what I give you, you do not need more. Show me that you can manage money successfully and maybe we will consider allowing the Obama tax hike!

  • @ladylordess Let's not forget he lie about GM allegedly paying back 8 billion ahead of time.

The federal Gov is so far gone it cannot be saved. We need to find the balls our founders had and rebuild this country from the states.

But we cannot do anything untill we recall all US forces from foreign posts.

  • @hamace Let's also not forget that the GM deal only turned out to be a theft via a massive transfer of wealth to the UAW and foreign interests. AKA political payback and votes.

  • @ladylordess That's exactly right.

  • @ladylordess Wow, you really got it backwards don't you? Watch a lot of FOX? Would bringing taxes on the wealthiest 2% of Americans from 36% to 39% as they were during the Clinton administration really effect you directly? It's not a tax hike, it is restoring it to what it was when the economy was in a surplus. And it is nowhere near what the rates were during Eisenhower (90%) or Nixon (70%). Seriously, get your facts straight. respond with your needs and with logic instead of your wants.

  • @duckinmypants No, got that from watching the actual numbers on CNBC. How about reading the stock reports?? LOL. Do you know who bought the GM stock? Do you know who still owns the GM stock?? Do you know who is buying he volt?? LOL. I bet you are a UAW member and HAVE to support this deal, or you would be out of a job. The GM deal only turned out to be a theft via a massive transfer of wealth to the UAW and foreign interests. AKA political payback and votes. Seriously, look it up.

  • For the Record she is the one that is pouting. Hey everybody check out "Town Hall To Claire McCaskill: We Don't Trust You" on youtube where she ask the people in her State at a Town Hall meeting if they trust her and they all scream "Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". Can you say one term?

  • Give money to the Rich? What you mean like she did with all the Bail outs she voted for to pay her Lobbiest back? You aren't giving them anything back. The only thing that is happening here is that the Republicans are stopping you from taking any more of their money so that they can expand their Businesses and Create Jobs. This Woman used to be a State Auditer so that automatically makes her a Soul Dead Cunt that thinks that everybodies money belongs to her.

  • McCaskill queefs out of her mouth.

  • Really?? It's the government's money to "give" and "take"? So we help the middle class by taking from their employers? That's a real solution from someone trying to buy votes through class warfare. Unbelieveable. It's all about redistributing the wealth. And Claire wants to do it.

  • I'm trying to figure out how this lady ever got elected to congress. Give what money to millionares....I guess you think that money other people earned belongs to you!!! GEESH Lady Get out of Congress!!!!!!! You are what' s wrong with this country!!! GO HOME!!!

  • This bitch voted to give the AWU in both Chrysler and GM Millions of shares of both companies and last week those Unions sold their share for better than 3 Billion dollars which went directly into the Union Coffers. Tell me again how Obama didn't directly pay back the Unions for their contributions to get him elected. How crooked does government have to be before America will really wake up and really open their eyes.

  • She is so done. How did that health care vote work out for your buddy Blanche. I love it when dems start trash talking.

  • You voted in favor of Obamacare even though 71% of your voting constituents opposed it (and voted that way a few months later), and you want someone to take you seriously?

  • You act like you have done a good job of spending the taxes that have been collected since you have been in office. It would be nice if everyone was in charge of their own withholding, so we ,as a country, could stop paying your tab.

  • We can clearly now see who the Republicans represent -- the multi-millionaires & billionaires.

  • Millionaires contribute 80% of campaign contributions to congressional candidates. 94% of candidates with most campaign funds win elections. Therefore, both reps and dems rely on millionaires to retain their office. So you see why the tax cuts will be extended. This Wharton MBA understands clearly that the extension will not create jobs except for the 535 members of congress. Please pass this on!

  • The Parasites call for more blood from the host.

  • which home will you go to for the christmas holidays you hipocrite

  • and why dont you level the playing field on unions too then

  • how can you justify making us (middle class, tea party, small business) pay for government spending that has just gone to waste your the joke lady get a grip how many jobs did the stimulus create in your state probably not a whole hell of a lot.

do you want to know what will get our country back business, want to know why because the government doesn't produce anything...well except human refuse such as yourself. time to up the revenues and get people back to business enough clowning around

  • Jefferson to Madison --

"Taxes should be proportioned to what may be annually spared by the individual." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison.

  • With the documented cases of numerous prominent RICH DEMOCRATS who dodge and shelter their money to keep from paying taxes, how on earth can any liberal drone support these hypocrites ? FACT: Raise taxes on the rich and the rich figure out ways to dodge, not pay or hide their assets. FACT: Raise taxes on rich and revenue goes down because they hire fancy lawyers to find loop-holes. Quit being idiots out there. Republicrats & Democuns are are the same. The real power is the Federal Reserve.

  • The Republican-Democrat paradigm is all a show folks. Look at them give press preferences, each one claiming to fight for you. They keep us divided by left-right, progressive-conservative, rich-poor, black-white, illegal-legal, while the FEDERAL RESERVE and their GLOBAL BANKERS keep us enslaved with FAKE MONEY. The media feeds you misinformation to keep you hating each other so nothing ever gets done. WAKE UP ! GET INFORMED ! End the FED, and we will be prosperous again.

  • Is thias the same person that spit on the ear monitor that she gave to Mitt Romney on MSNBC after the 06 Elections????

She may not be a reputable Representitive of our Govornment!

  • mckaskill "the republicans are smelly and they are stupid, and they pick thier nose"

"democrats are cool, look at us, we are sooo coool, look im gonna give you money! yayyyy!" crickets........

  • Win-Win - Congress proved that they can single out anyone to pay extra taxes by taxing 100% of banker’s bonuses. So the answer is simple, raise the taxes for all Democrats so the government can spend their money as the government sees best. Then lower the taxes for all Republicans so they can create jobs and donate as they seem fit. It is a crying shame that people like Warren Buffet feel like they can’t pay more taxes.

  • "Taxes should be proportioned to what may be annually spared by the individual." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison.

Warren Buffet indicted he was paying about 16% of his income in taxes as the 16 employees in his main office were all paying about 30%.

    This is fairly typical.

When adding ALL taxes the super-rich pay around 15% of income in tax as the middle class pays around 30%.

    THIS MADDNESS MUST STOP!

  • In regard to Lincoln - he not only put into effect an income tax, but an inheritance tax and an asset tax (where you had to list your valuables)

But taxes where structured so most of the costs of the war fell on those most able to pay for it -- the richest 10%.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we did that today rather than finance the war w/ social security funds from the lower & middle classes AS WE CUT THE TAXES ON THE RICHEST 10% IN WAR TIME.

  • Following WW2 (for the next 40 years) the tax rates on the top 2% ranged from 70% to 95%.

It is insane to think you can spend billions on a war & not pay for it.

  • Every President increased the taxes on the richest 2% when we had a massive debt from war - including Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, & LBJ -

EXCEPT FOR BUSH WHO GREATLY REDUCED THEIR TAXES.

Generally the maximum tax rate only applies to income the rich have after having spent 10 times as much as the avg American on housing, food, clothing, etc.

The Max Tax Rates after WW 1 were:

    1917 ----- 67%

    1918 ----- 77%

    1919 ----- 73%

    1920 ----- 73%

    1921 ----- 75%

  • When the federal income tax was enacted in 1913, the top rate was just 7%. By the end of WW I, rates had been increased at all levels, with the top rate to 77% (on income over $1 million that would be a billionaire today.) Income of $5k or less paid no taxes.(most of the middle class) Under the Revenue Acts of 1921,24& 26. The combined top marginal normal and surtax rate fell from 73% to 58% in 1922, then 50% in 1923 ( over $200k). In 1924, the top tax rate fell to 46%(income over $500k).

  • @DillonDee1 My point is you can't just state income tax rates. In the 20s and into the 30s before FDR raised taxes most people paid no income tax. The tax cuts of the 1920s were the first federal experiment with supply-side income tax rate cuts. Data for the period show an initial decline in federal revenues as tax rates were cut, but revenues grew strongly during the subsequent economic expansion and total tax payments and the share of total taxes paid by the top income earners soared

  • @quizerry -- you're right that during early wars - under Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln & Wilson almost ALL of the war costs fell on the richest 10%.

Today we try to pay for the war out of the Social Security Funds from the middle & lower classes.

    IT'S SINFUL!

  • @DillonDee1 There were no income tax under Washington or Jefferson. Under Lincoln one was past but 5 years later it was repealed as unconstitutional. That is the reason after all that we wanted independence from Great Britain. Then a income tax was again enacted in 1894 but the supreme court struck it down a year later. Then came Wilson and his progressive movement. His two terms were an unmitigated disaster for the country. He enacted income tax in 1913 we still pay today.

  • @quizerry -- I agree there were no income taxes under Washington & Jefferson but there were many other taxes - mostly on the richest 10% - taxes on carriages, pocket watches, etc.

Some Tea Party folks think the Boston Party was about TAXATION when it was actually about taxation WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.

Washington had said taxes would be higher than under British rule - & so they were.

Of course when they put in a sin tax -- agst whiskey -- that hit the middle class & pissed them off.

  • @DillonDee1

Taxation without representation is what you get when your elected officials vote in opposition to what their constituents desire. McCaskill voted for Obamacare even though 71% of Missouri opposed it (they voted against it a few months after she voted for it).

  • The dems aren't fighting for the middle class, they're fighting for communism.

  • The Tea Party & many Republicans when running for office pushed for balancing the budget.

If the massive tax cut for the top 2% goes into effect THERE IS NO WAY TO BALANCE THE BUDGET.

  • @DillonDee1 Even with a tax hike it would not balance the budget. Obama's projected budget is 9 time what Bushes was in 2001. The problem is spending not taxes.

  • The Republicans have put their cards on the table - they represent the largest Corporations & the richest 2% -- not the majority of the American public.

  • I grew up in small Texas towns.

We have over 250 of them with thousands Mon & Pop operations.

You would have to look high & low to find one that makes over one million a year.

The small business argument is BS.

  • Warren Buffett offered a Cash Award to anyone who could show that the CEO of a major US Company was paying a higher % of his income in taxes than his secretary.

    The Cash Award remains unclaimed.

Giving a $700 Billion Dollar Tax Cut to the top 2% will only make the disparity greater.

  • IT ISN'T A TAX CUT It is keeping the tax rates the same and not RAISING taxes on anyone. YOUR federal spending in 2011 will be almost $2 trillion higher than in 2001 when the first Bush tax cuts were passed. Spending increases have had a nine times greater impact on our changed budget situation since 2001 than have tax cuts. The Tea Party is telling you to stop spending. Do you not get the message. We would be fools to give congress one more dime of our hard earned dollars to waste.

  • Ms. McCaskill Why did you vote for a $800 billion bank bailout if you were concerned about the deficit? Why did you vote to expand the federal government with massive new social programs against the middle class? Why did you vote for the $800 billion stimulus? Why did you vote for a $2.5 trillion dollar healthcare bill? Why did you vote to keep these wars going if you were so worried about the deficit? Please give us a break you are the biggest hypocrite of all. I will vote you out 2012.

  • @quizerry -- Good point. All the Dem's want to do is tax and spend anyway so this is smoke and mirrors. For her to bag on the GOP for not caring about the Tea Party is the greatest farce I've heard since Charlie Rangle's so called 'apology'.

  • She is a delusional Leftist with an argument that cannot be defended intellectually. Every single reference she spews is antithetical to the facts and based on misinformation. I would love to debate her.

  • If you are paying attention to what's going on, and not just to an entertainment tv like 'Fox News', then you'll agree that this Senator is spot on this issue. I wish my Senators had the cojones that McCaskill has. (Virginia here)

  • It is class warfare.

The GOP is fighting for the richest 1% who already own 45% of the financial assets in the country.

The DEMS are fighting for the middle class.

  • @DillonDee1 You should be embarrassed commenting on topics which you are clueless. This double talking leftist, takes all sides of an issue, depending on who's holding the microphone. In her fact-less tirade, she tied the middle class with small business to stir uniformed nitwits like you into a frenzy.(2000-2009)74-79% of US workers are employed by a small business. 89-93% of these Businesses file as a single entity to avoid double taxation.Over 97% of them had gross receipts over $250K earning 0

  • @DillonDee1 If the 2001 and 2003 tax laws are allowed to expire, then Americans will see increased tax rates on income, dividends, capital gains, and estates. So the issue is not “tax cuts” it’s whether we should increase taxes in 2011. President Obama wants taxes to go up for business owners, corporate executives, and investors on January 1, the very people whose decisions have the most immediate impact on economic growth and job creation. The uncertainty is keeping the economy in limbo.

  • @quizerry - 1st I'd favor a tax cut for 98% of Americans, but not the top 2% (they already have a lower tax rate than they did for most of the last century).

2nd - I'd favor doing nothing - let the tax increase go into effect for all (we must get serious about reducing the deficit)

3rd - I strongly oppose a $700 Billion tax for the top 2% (I would hope Barack has enough character to Veto any bill with such a provision)

I ran a company w/ 100+ employees the "uncertainty" argument is BS

  • @DillonDee1 You ran it but did you own it? Did you pay the real estate taxes, parole taxes, corporate taxes, state and local taxes, unemployment taxes, sales taxes licensees and fees? Did you have to estimate healthcare cost and 401ks or retirement plans you have to match? Or worry about those who already retired paying their pensions for years down the road. If you go under they loose their pension. Did keep capitol to expand it? Did you invest profits for its future?

  • @quizerry -- I did own by company by myself for 10 years & then took in 2 partners, and, yes, I paid many types of taxes, inclusing over $300,000.00 in real estate taxes per year. And, no, I was not out to screw my employees, like WalMart's - many of whom collect food stamps on our tax dollars.

  • Bankers Clergy and Politicians. The world truely would know peace if each of these were strangled in the entrails of the other...

  • "Remember, the government cannot give anything to anyone,

that they have not first taken away from someone else." - Anonymous

  • The middle class does'nt need an activist, they need for you beurocrats to stop taking their's and their boss's money, for social progams you a-hole force us onto!!! Stupid Retarded B@#$%^!

  • @WoodlandRavah Extending the Bush tax cuts — permanently to all— is a crucial step in restoring economic growth. You can call the Obama administration the "uncertainty regime". The last administration to be called that was FDR whose policies prolonged the great depression 8 years. They are keeping the economy in limbo with uncertainty. First all the bailouts, then the stimulus, then the massive healthcare spending bill. Now tax hikes.

  • @quizerry

ANY tax breaks/cuts/loopholes/ect would be awesome, Did you hear that were bailing out Europe for almost a trillion dollars, 1st they bail us out, then we bail them out, all the while just adding to the total debt each of us have, never subtracting from the debt for a loan to another, exponentially increasing the interest payment each of our countries are supposed to pay to banking institutions... The world is being forced into financial slavery purely on paper. I know my rights!

  • Cmosdriver – I watched the video, 99ers and ALL, Let The (TRUTH) Be Told, and it is just propaganda. First look at the chart, you can blame Bush, but the house and Senate at the time of the decline were democrats.

  • You have to look at what they were doing. Just as you have to look at the Clinton admin and how jobs went up when the republicans took over. The stimulus bill put 240,000 to work in 37 states. $787 billion, that’s $3,279,166 per job. Manufacturing jobs lost, is true. Why, our kids are losing ground in education and the labor and taxes are cheaper overseas.

  • The billions of dollars the government has spent has given us no return, and I say that because of the 240,000 jobs that were created, if they really were, how many are going to be lost when the stimulus money runs out. I would say most if not all. So, Rather than hand out money, they should have looked at what creates jobs. Lower taxes, not raise them. People create jobs, lower the taxes on business, and make incentives to start business in America, not other countries.

  • I am not economist but I can think and see. I saw restaurant open and they hired what looked like at least 80 people. At most, the startup cost was say 2 million, that is $25,000 per job and these are permanent jobs. If you want manufacturing jobs, make low or no interest loans and give tax advantages. The people will open a business if they can make money, and they can do it a lot cheaper than $3,279,166 per job.

  • This is a big problem, and people need jobs, but raising taxes so we can hand out more money isn’t the answer. And we can’t cover all the problems and answers here. But if you want jobs, keep our kids in school and give them a good education, get the people to work by letting the American people create jobs. It isn’t the job of the government to create jobs; it is the government’s responsibility to provide the American people the opportunity to create jobs.

  • Cmosdriver – Because the rich, over $250,000 a year, have more money; they should pay ALL the taxes for the people that make less than $250,000. Are you also saying that if you go out with friends or family that they should pay for the meals and entertainment because they make more then you? I would hope that you pick up the bill when it is your turn or pay you’re part. So, we should all pay taxes and equal taxes. A flat tax is the answer. No loopholes, everyone pays 10% or whatever is needed.

  • Comment removed

  • @dumbbo1 What's misleading is your statement. Facts are Facts. Deal w/it. Since Reagan lowered everyone's taxes and gave the richest ENDLESS loopholes to use, the rich has been getting extremely MORE rich and the middle class has been losing ground on income. THOSE ARE FACTS!! Look it up if you're not afraid of the truth. It makes no difference what is said. You can not change historic statistics. Whether or not a flat tax would be fair is not the issue at hand today. Stop arguing fiction.

  • wow... I just learned something. You're giving money to people by not raising taxes.. I didn't know that all the money earned in the nation belonged to the government, and what we take home is what you're giving us. Maybe I should just quit my job and ask you for the money directly without working...

Instead of "giving" us our money can you stop giving our jobs to China? You can't carry on forever papering over the lack of industry in this nation.

  • How can anybody take either party seriously about deficit reduction and tax policy?

  • What an idiotic woman. Even more idiotic are her constituents,

  • Hey Claire - How can anyone take you seriously? You've NEVER fought for the middle class - you are a fraud.!!!!!!!

  • PEOPLE – ONLY 3% of your so-called job makers fall into that TOP tax range. ASK YOURSELVES WHY THAT IS!! Your republican leaders are fighting for millionaires and billionaires because they FEED their pockets. No jobs has been created by these tax cuts over the past 10 YEARS!!! Look around you people. THIS COUNTRY IS BROKE and JOBLESS, why? Less and Less revenue & off shoring. And guess what? It stems from the RIGHT SIDE of the fence!!! Go look at the tax code history for this country. WAKE UP!!

  • How exactly to do you "pay" for a tax cut?? That's ridiculous. Hey, Senator, why not cut taxes and spending for a change? It's not a shame that I have a millionaire as my employer. It's a shame that I employ millionaires in Congress!

  • Good point Lbfent2, The unions are a good example. What gave them the right to any part of GM, they are the ones who bankrupted it. How many billions did we give them? And then the bond holders were made out to be criminals and by LAW they should have received their money first.

  • "... they're gonna pout if WE don't give more money to millionaires..."

What money is she going to GIVE millionaires? I know she's not talking about the billions given in bailouts to Obamas favorite backers.

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on the objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." - -- James Madison

  • @Lbfent2 - Obama cleaned up Bush's mess and taxpayers are making 8+% interest on the payback. The Pimpublicans are the millionaires party. In fact, there are 2 kinds of Republicans- the Millionaires and the suckers, which are you?

  • I am trying to figure out why people do not see the lying and duplicious democrat leftists for what they are: totalitarian fascists.

  • So when you start paying the five dollar a gallon gas remember to thank your Democrat Congress members like this fool; Claire McCaskill. When you lose your job thank Claire

  • @recklessprocess McCaskill doesn't care about $2, $3, $5, or $10 gas. She doesn't pay for gas, and as long as her state is dumb enough to keep voting her in, she never will!

  • And on top of that Democrats want to bankrupt the energy industry and anyone who uses energy. They want to raise your electricity rates and the cost of gaasoline. Obama has just permanently extended the drilling moratorium in the gulf. China, Brazil, and Mexico are all drilling just off our coast and nothing Obama says about the industry will stop them. The only outcome is our gas prices go up.

  • Democrat controlled congress of the last four years do not think it is a good idea to let job creators know what the tax rates will be in a few weeks. No one is hiring and some companies are laying people off because they have no idea what Congress will do to their costs. The morons in congress must think this is a good thing because it was no accident that the democrat congress put this off until literally the very last possible second.

  • Leftists have no logic or reason just a memorized set of talking points. They do not see why these things are the same. When you raise taxes on the job creators for creating jobs you will get less job creation. Duh! Just like tobacco and soda taxes.

Most of these democrats never had a real job or met a payroll in their entire experience. They really do not have a clue how or why jobs get created.

  • The top 10% of taxpayers pay 70% of all taxes. The democrats want to take even more from the people who make the economy work. Claire wants to punish the job creators. When democrats want you to stop smoking they put a tax on tobacco. When Dems want you to stop drinking soda they put a tax on to get you to stop. So why do democrats think that taxing the very people who create the jobs will get them to do more job creation if we just tax them harder?

  • No Claire, in this economy we don't think it's "ok to raise taxes on the embattled middle class" OR on the job creators, who you call millionaires. These people are so dishonest and devisive it makes me sick. YOUR SO-CALLED MILLIONAIRES ARE SMALL BUSINESSES, CLAIRE!!! They're the ones who give jobs to the middle class.

  • If the people who earn more than $250,000 want the "proportionally" ADDITIONAL tax cuts (10% extra), they should have to pay "proportionally" higher taxes on Social Security. Currently, everyone pays 6.2% on earnings up to $106,800. Everyone who earns MORE pays proportionally LESS taxes than the rest of us who pay on 100% of that 6.2% tax. Otherwise, the wealthiest should only be allowed to collect a proportionally lower amount of benefits. It's equitable.

  • Cmosdriver, you make me laugh. The rich have NEVER had free money. They work for a living, and many have degrees including PHDs. They have ALWAYS paid most of the taxes and they do to this day. I am not rich, I’m not even middle class, but they don’t owe me anything and I want to pay my part. I want too and I want my children to have the freedom to have a good job. That is the problem with the Democratic party, they like to spend money that isn’t theirs and they look at it is free money.

  • ALL OF YOU IDIOTS ARE MORE IGNORANT THAN A BAG OF DUMB ROCKS!!!!!! There was NOBODY crying FOR ALL THESE YEARS when the tax code was TILTED HEAVILY in favor of the rich in this country was there??!!! Now all of a sudden, the MIDDLE CLASS republican voters in this country are all upset that A PORTION of the FREE money that has been going to the WEALTHY (not YOU), will be put towards better use... TO HELP YOU IDIOTS!!! Contrary to what Republicans think... IGNORANCE IS NOT A VIRTUE!!!!!!

  • @cmosdriver If ignorance *were* a virtue, you'd be a saint! The "Progressive" tax system targets those with high taxable incomes, hence the typically misleading name. Drop the class warfare crap and bring in a flat tax, which taxes EVERYONE at a fixed percentage or the Fair Tax which taxes everyone based on their buying power. (From a corporate banker or a Kennedy/Rockefeller baby buying a new yacht to me buying a candy bar to illegal aliens and potheads buying "Obama '12" t-shirts.)

  • STUPID STUPID STUPID LADY IS STUPID. Democrats = Party of Joblessness

  • Pitch forks...LMAO! Go ahead, but keep in mind we are the ones with the guns. My aim is true and my powder is dry. Guns vs. pitchforks...Who would win....hmmmm. That and the fact that most, if not all dems are cowards when it comes to actually fighting for rights. Take up your pitchforks. Hope you can throw it faster and farther than my ammo flies.

  • Already starting with the whining and they are still in the Majority til Jan. Get used to it, check into some youtube vid back from when they were the minority. There you will see real angry rhetoric. And they say the "right" is angry. Propaganda all the day long and American's eating it up. Yep, on both sides, that's why we all have to do our research.

  • You see Chuck Schumer squirming and grimacing in the back there. As usual, he looks like he has gas. Just let it out Chuck. That's what Claire does.

  • The most telling part of this woman's speech was when she said "they are gonna pout when we give them more money". This was an incredible and telling statement of how big government liberals feel about the money earned in this country. She was inferring that the money is the government's

  • A number of economic studies have concluded that historically, each dollar in new taxes results in more than one dollar of new spending.

Cut spending e-Claire, you fat debauched parasite. That's the only way to deficit reduction.

Oh that's right - you're afraid that you can't cut spending without losing the support of the people who benefit from the spending. You're petrified you'll lose the next election if you limit the government sugar teat. Guess we'll just have to replace you.

  • She and her comrade "keep my mug in front of ANY TV camera" Shyster are the epitome of east bound ends of west bound jackasses. Period.

  • How clueless is this woman?

  • waaaa....waaaaaa___I hear a crybaby having a melt down. Can someone tell this Commie to shut her pie hole please, the stupidity is unbearable.

  • Hey, Claire. You don't give a rat's ass about the Middle Class.. You gave us Obamacare, and it is so good, you exempted it from yourself.. All taxes on the middle class are going up.. Meanwhile, Geithner, Rangel, Daschle, Kennedy, Kerry and Clinton don't pay too much,,, And Bloomberg has his money in the Cayman Islands. How bout we get Obama's aunt to get off her fat ass and get a job?

  • @Ridgway55 Fact: Obama and the democratic congress cut taxes significantly for the middle class.

  • Claire Bear I have a newsflash for you. Money ANYONE makes, rich or poor, is their money it is not the Federal Government! You talk about all those deductions for the rich, well who wrote those into the tax code and who can write them out? If they were so unfair then why in the 2 years you have controlled Congress and the 2 years you've controlled Congress and the WH you haven't gotten rid of them. Perhaps it's because you use them too! You make laws and exempt yourself just like Obamacare

  • Who hires middle class Americans? If the small businesses owners aren't prospering enough to expand, you dont have any new jobs..... which is exactly what the middle class is dependent upon....

  • They still don't get it. We need jobs, making businesses pay more taxes is just going to cost America more jobs. Is she promoting violence? She said, it really is time for people of America to pick up pitchforks. Wow, I thought that was illegal for a Senator to instill a riot. Oh, maybe that is another law that doesn’t apply to them.

  • Pointing fingers is what all pols do. Our national debt is fast approaching 14 trillion. How do you know when a pol is lying? Their mouths move or they're reading off teleprompters. And Dems want to redistribute money you make. Socialist agenda,

  • Pointing fingers is what all pols do. Our national debt is fast approaching 14 trillion. How do you know when a pol is lying? Their mouths move or they're reading off teleprompters.

  • How about instead of denigrating your opponents you tell me what you will do. This kinda stuff, from all sides, makes me sick.

  • WILL SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN ECONOMICS TO THESE PEOPLE?!

I’m SICK of hearing Democrats saying “pay for tax cuts”! It doesn't work that way.

Support the Fair Tax if you don’t like deductions!

  • Please Claire, carry on. Give me the chance to be the second von Steuben.

  • Not sure I have seen a bigger group of morons in my life. Is this lady for real?

Does she even understand what she and all these other idiots have done to destroy our country with reckless spending over the last 2 years?

Last time I checked the Republicans are trying to HELP the middle class and small business owners.

  • Wait, how did she vote again on the stimulus, the healthcare bill, the bailouts? all unpaid for.

  • November 2012...YOU ARE OUT!!

  • We can't take democrats seriously...

    Its not your money.

"tax cuts cost money", no, its your SPENDING.

Your "spreading the wealth" is going to a lot of wealthy people, including businesses and organizations that kick back millions of $ to you.

Dems got roasted on Nov. 2nd for a reason.

  • She is right!!! The Dems should take every dime those evil rich guys make. We need more million dollar turtle tunnels here in Florida. (Note* built by Mexicans)

  • She is right about one thing -- The 60,000 pages of IRS rules are NOT so you can deduct your mortgage interest. They are to loophole the people that spend $30,000 a plate at political fund raising dinners. If Congress wanted to change that, they could change it right now, and McCaskill knows that. But they won't because they are all lying demagogues like her. The more power government has, the less power (and money and freedom) the people have. McCaskill knows this, and doesn't care.

  • Yeah McCaskill, get the pitchforks. The true Americans, luckily, have guns and can defend themselves against the pitchfork-wielding marxist mob.

  • Why are we there? Because we have jackasses like McCaskill in our parliaments wh
