  • Jesus, watching fish fillet videos always makes me hungry.

  • hey bro thanks! now i can go catch em and fillet them my self! love your accent!

  • Mate im an apprentice chef and it's always great to learn from people like yourself.. i had to fillet a snapper a bit bigger then that and it took a while.. now i know how to fillet it cleanly not missing any party of the flesh and those bones in the middle. Appreciate the video.. David from Sydney.. Good on ya ..

  • im sorry but you have turned something very simple into a marathon.

  • you dont need to cut the rib bones flick the knife up then run down with the ribcage youll miss them. Im a professional filleter in a fish market. it takes us a max of 5 sweeps of a blade each fillet

  • OMFG!!! WOOT THANK YOU MAN! Im 13 and i just filleted my own FISH!! YeaaH!!! thanks man :) but its not as smooth as your's its like ripped up but STILL! i done it =] practice makes perfect :)

  • bloody good to watch champ keep the good work up

  • alright thanks that was good...now I'm going to give it a go.

  • Nice presentation.

  • Nice one! I make a hell of a mess with the snapper, this helps :)

  • nice work mate! but in my opinion there was a bit to much meat left on the frame and wasteage around the rib area...but otherwise bloody awesome video!!

  • you should clean in fresh water becayse later salt water dys out the fillet =]

  • not bad size snapper

  • Awesome post cobber!

  • Thanks mate for the video!!! Just wondering if you could tell me what knife you are using in the video? No matter how well i sharpen my knife it still cuts like a dog :) Yours looks like a real gem.

  • Why do you keep switching knives? Isn't there just one knife that could work for everything? .....I mean I understand they have better control with each size...but I only want one knife!!

  • You need to have a knife that can cut through the larger bones. If you use your filleting knife to do this you will take the sharp edge off it and/or damage/chip the edge of it.

  • lol at first i thought it meant "How to Fillet a Snapper Turtle"

and was thinking,oh snap this could get dangerous.

But this Snapper looks much tastyer :)

  • thanks mate, managed to fillet my first snapper with your help, you rock

  • Yep, it is a Snapper - Pagrus auratus (formerly Chrysophrys auratyus). Common to Southern waters of Australia from Coral bay in Western Australia to Capricorn group in Queensland.

Anything else you want to know :-)

  • to bad it dosent really look like a snapper, Looks more like a porgy: if it is a snapper i would like to know the spieces.

  • I agree, If it were to have a yellow tail I would say a jack.
