Mine's floor length and I've always kept it in a braid to help me keep it out of my way. Lately I've taken to tying it in a large twisted slip knot and clipping it up on my head. I had it down the other day and tripped on it as I was going up the stairs.

I can't get over the audacity of people who say you "should" donate your hair, or that it's too long. Are there job openings with the hair police? Times are tough, they should really post those job notices on some appropriate site.

@KaylinLula So I won't kill myself with it for starters. :O) I also get sick of people telling me I need to donate it. It's my hair and I want to keep it, not donate it.  I make it easier on everyone and I keep it up in a bun.

@GwiazdkaNadia I haven't always had long hair. In 1999 I decided I wasn't going to cut it anymore and 11 years later, here I am! I measured 75.5 inches in Jan of 2010. I am going to measure again soon. Just got to get my hubby to help. ;O)

Hi, great hair. You said you don't cut your hair--how do you deal with split ends? do you use anything to stimulate your scalp such as oil for your hair to grow? I saw your yahoo groups but I didn't see any tips for how to grow your hair. My hair is wavy and to the middle of my back. I would like it longer, but It seems that I end up having to "trim" it every 3 months or so due to split ends. My hair dresser said that hair has a life cycle &some ppl r at their max. idk. do u have any tips?

@prettycloudyskies Hi. I use jojoba oil and coconut oil to keep my hair soft & shiny. I have split ends but they don't bother me. Hair is essentially dead before it even leaves your follicles so I figure even if I trim it, it's still going to keep splitting anyway since it's dead. I only wash my hair once a week & I deep condition it. I never blow dry or use any hot rollers or irons. I also cover my hair in the sun. It helps a lot! Also, I take prenatal vitamins & TRY to eat right. ;O)

@prettycloudyskies I've been growing mine out for awhile and I do trim, but so far I've done it every 4/5 months. I so do a "search & destroy" and trim off split ends when I have time. When you trim, don't go too short. Just trim enough to get any damage off. Scritching stimulates your scalp's blood flow. Hair has it's own speed; nothing will make it faster. It took me 1yr to get to mid back. By December I should be past waist. I've been growing from a bob.

Besides locks of love is a scam, they sell the hair to sick people they don't donate it, but they get most o their long hair for free-great scam. Look it up
