All of your 13 Vanished World of Disney are great. I would recommend videos of: Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Snow White (the original scary ride), an animatronics musical show of all Disney characters called Mickey Mouse Review (love it), Mission to Mars, Swan Boats, If You Had Wings sponsored by Eastern Airlines and the whole Toontowm is gone now. I don't know your age maybe you weren't even born when some of these attractions where open LOL.
I had many a good times at Please Island! !:) The Adventurers Club was brilliant and "8-Tracks", the disco club was always a blast!! Oooh, and Mannequins had the best SPINNING dance floor!!! :) Ahh, memories!!
My aunt works at Disney, and I believe she told me and my sister that part of the reason why they closed Pleasure Island was because gangs were having a little turf wars and spats inside of it (she may have been wrong, but that's just what I heard..don't shoot the messenger!)
Oh man, I remember going here in like 2003 when I took my girlfriend to Disney during Spring Break. There was this awesome AC/DC cover band playing at one end, and we were standing right at the front of the stage, and my girlfriend was freaking out screaming her head off because she loved AC/DC. There was also this one club with a big rotating dance floor and a big wall of lights, it was awesome.
I miss this Downtown Disney. The place was always packed and everyone was always having a good time if they had just kept up with the shows, fireworks, crowd dancers, etc. I can't imagine that (combined with the insane drink prices) wouldn't have managed to keep it bumpin. Why not leave the kids with Grandma and Grandpa and go out for some fun for the parents? Yeesh. Lighten up, folks. This is not the age of Prohibition.
What a bunch of nonsense posted below.. First I find it funny that people who have never even BEEN have an opinion on the place.. As far as "Disney Spirit".. Really, Disney can't cater to adults?? First of all it was a place for adults-- at night.. It had no effect on children other than those of parents who felt the need to have their children out til 2am!! That is the parent's problem, not Disney.. But hey, now you have more places to shop..
I'm glad this closed up, as I don't see it as in the Disney spirit at all. It was a bunch of clubs, right? I remember we went through it during the day a few times when I was a kid, because it was free during the day because it was only stores that were opened, or something. Never got to know it well, but even today in my 30's I have never been into clubbing. I do miss how charming the "Disney Shopping Village" was before being expanded into this area and redubbed Downtown Disney.
I have no idea what this place was like; I was always too young when it was open, and when I finally went as an adult in 2002 we brought my 4 year old step-daughter. Then when we were going back sans kids in 2009, we thought we'd finally get to check this place out, and it's closed. That said, Cirque du Soleil was a wonderful "adult" night out for us, and kids could really go to that too.
For once, Disney did something right. I'm glad this place closed up. Saw one too many obnoxious, drunken idiots in the Disney Resort. That's not what Disney should represent.

the next one you should do is the living seas or the old star wars or you can start a vanished universalseries too :)

We were in Downtown Disney this July 4, 2011 and there were like 2 parking
spots in the entire lot. It was elbow to elbow all through it and going thru the
tavern section was just one big hideous BRAWL.
NOISE, SMELL & CROWDS assaulted the senses while you were carried
along over to the Leggo block & Disney Stores. We bought some gifts then
dragged our tails outta there.
Makes you wonder what WALT would think if he walked through what he
dreamed of as his "Family-Friendly Parks".
