I had this idea first >:| although I would've put it in a mile high vacuum chamber so it could be powered by the earths wobble and the minuscule fluctuations of the moons gravitational pull on the earth.
actually the bird and water thing is based on the second law of thermodynamics. In the glass orb at the base of the bird is methylene chloride, which has an ultra-low boiling point. At room temperature, one or two degrees temperature difference causes the red chemical to climb to his head. At this point the bird tips over into a glass of water. The water cools the chemical in the felt bird head and it tips back down, starting the process over again. It is perpetual as long as the sun exists.
like if you went here because of thecreativeone's stupid mistake and didnt show it working :/

@whyoumadbro exactly why I'm here, such a lazy video

@whyoumadbro Hey now. The review is up. Enjoy!

This is demonstrating chaos theory. A small change in the release point will mean a huge change in the pendulum's path.
boratsam 1 year ago
Instead of a single arm on the pendulum, use two shorter ones connected in the middle. This will make it harder to find a steady rest.
FCKEVRY1 2 years ago
@FCKEVRY1 It will also make it only movable on one dimensional plane lol

OK, who brought the bird?!?!?
FCKEVRY1 2 years ago
cool i want one

Do those move forever, or do they stop?
BasementBen 3 years ago
Apparantly they stop if you don't add more energy...
BerraG 3 years ago
I see, u swing it and it moves around for a little while :)
Thanks,
BasementBen 3 years ago
Well the force of the magnets may give it enough energy to continue forever. It's possible.
boredman443 3 years ago
No. According to the law of conservation of energy a perpetual motion machine can not exist.
jackberg0 2 years ago 11
Yeah, that was a stupid comment.
boredman443 2 years ago 3
what about that bird with the water thing?
FlakatyFlakFlak 2 years ago
The 'bird thing' is also a pendulum in a different form. It will also cease movement in time.

pwnd.
MyTragedyIsYou 2 years ago
If you look at it the water is giving the bird the energy it needs to keep moving. so it is not a perpetual motion machine.
Crsvirtua 2 years ago
wtf are you talking about? there's no bird OR water.
MyTragedyIsYou 2 years ago
@jackberg0 That sucks
nuclearthreat545 7 months ago
@jackberg0 it does eventually stop you know and he did have to give it energy at the beginning so it stays completely within the laws of physics
DroidPantelas 7 months ago
You can't add more energy. No energy or matter is created or destroyed, only transferred.

@FlakatyFlakFlak it is not perpetual "as long as the sun exists" because the sun is adding the extra energy

false matter is destroyed in stars and is created into thermal energy
ndanick21 2 years ago
it would be correct to say the total amount of matter AND energy remains the same forever
