Just a quick tip. You can hold the knife like you did for your one handed closing method, but place your pointer finger on the spine of of the knife with slight pressure, then pull up on the stud from both sides with your middle finger and thumb. The blade should then just snap back into the closed position. It's kind of awkward at first, but now it's very easy to close one handed. Similar to how you would close an AXIS lock from Benchmade.
I think alot of people are still hesitant on this knife design. It will take a little time for people to see how great of knife this is. Chris Reeve didnt earn his reputation for nothing. Once Ive actually held all the knives in hand that Chris Reeve hes produced Ive instantly seen the quality and thought that goes into each and everyone.
I thought this one of the easier knives to deploy & re-close. Safety could be a concern in closing. Perhaps my thumb tips are toughened from years of music practice but it's no pain for me. But I appreciate your dislike. After further thought, the cost of this knife is too much for people & it's just not worth it (same for other CRK, Strider, Hinderer, customs etc.). Spydercos/Benchmades give 95% of the quality at 25% of the expense.
Nice vid! I like the look of the knife, but dislike its function. It seems awkward to me and not natural like every other CR knife I have. I appreciate the innovation and can see that it is a mechanical improvement, however, the opening and closing as well as the clip fail to impress my mental ergonomic standards. The shape and proportions are beautiful however.
Sorry to be negative, but this was not one of your best reviews. You were unsure of many of the knifes specs & had not researched before hand. Maybe you were just tired ? Anyway, def not up to your usual standard. Did you watch this vid before uploading it??
@1234sensei are you sure your commenting on the correct video? This is one of the only videos where I give the actual detailed specs. Maybe the tempo was off a little as I was reading the specs from a sheet off camera.
@oromoto That is strange. I wonder if they are formally offering both. I went back and looked at a lot of the dealer sites and most of the pictures are mixed forms of titanium. Bead blasted seems more prevalent in the pics.
Great review and a cool Knife. I am just not sure if it is worth $100 to $150 more that the small or large Sebenza. Did you buy the knife new? Did you have the handle stonewashed? Are you subscribed to Pelahale. He also has a review of the TI-Lock. His scales have the standard bead blast finish like the Sebenza. Maybe there are two versions. Pelahale also has a great technique for flicking the knife open and closed.
@26point2madness I bought the knife new and scales came like this. They seem to be offering 2 versions now. I agree on the pricing. Its a little higher than it should be for crk knife.

@traderjoes basically agree. I like my sebenza better. I do like the ergonomics of the ti lock, but the lock and clip suck

it kinda looks gimmicky...

@stun279 It definitely has some more flair to it than a normal sebenza.

So weird, my handle is blasted unlike your stone washed. I like your finish though, but I think the blasted finish gives more grip in wet situation.

@CreativeOutletHobbie Yeah, I never knew they were doing stone washed handle. Very nice contrast!

When you did that one-handed maneuver, does it put uneven or twisting tension on the lock beam?

I'm not a fan of this one but I don't doubt it's quality craftsmanship.

I have a sebenza and Umzum. This knife looks cool, but i wont buy one because it seems difficult to mess with.

this knife fucking sucks
nonglotter 9 months ago
Very nice. I wondering if this will affect sales of small sebenza.
Temperdgrump 9 months ago
@Temperdgrump Maybe. I bought this instead of a small sebe, but I'll have to say that this is a very different knife.
