The white folks twist around the finger those black guys how they like. First of all in Africa are the biggest reserves of water on the planet underground OWNED BY WHITE people. The same white people that help with different organizations those Africans how to successfully eat a bible or how to use a weapon instead of a spoon.
I've gotta say some of the comments on here are incredibly ignorant. Unless you've been over there and seen their situation, like I have, don't you dare judge them. Go to the library, do some research. Europe and the U.S. have a lot to do with Africa's current situation. I think its awesome that some people are actually trying to help them, instead of just using them and screwing them over. I.E. What was done to Africa when they were colonies.
Among other things, they do have a need for fresh water, however is it true that they will not practice contraception even after being provided supplies due to their way of thinking? High fertility, overpopulation and food scarcity just multiplies their problems exponentially.
oh yeah and it's because of the U.K. the u.k. stole the resources from Africa and took all the arable land of africa. they came with slavery and took all the gold that south africa had. it's not THIER fault they have to live like this. there is many reasons.
For your information Salva is an amazing smart person. When My teacher went to Sudan to build a well and their car kept breaking down or there was other mechanical problems he was the first to fix everything and help out.
I have a dream that one day that one day all the countries in the world will come together and forge one nation, earth. I have a dream that people regardless of their ethnicity or international borders will become citizens of this nation. I have a dream that one day you will not be vilified, ostracised and ridiculed just because you married a person of different racial background. I have a dream that one day people will realise that all the people inahabiting this planet are your brothers/sisters
Being from East Africa and to see such a comment it really hurts.I never thought that they are people in the world that have no compassion for the poor people. You might have your own opinion but seek to understand that we cannot all be the same in this life.Let's all work together in harmony and show compassion for love will conquer all.
It is great what is being done in that village but why is it of the West's concern. People struggle to find water, that's natural in an African climate.
Helping Africa is so much cheaper than helping in the US, because the needs are so basic. Healthcare is a $2 vaccine, not a $10,000 MRI. There's no excuse for such poverty to still exist in our day and age, it is purely lack of will by people who have enough to waste on SUVs and flat screen TVs. So easy for any of us to make a huge difference in the lives of others, if only we choose to.
hmm.. i guess you don't really know the situation... we can barely afford to help the needy people within our own boundaries.. what makes you think we can help beyond needy people that live on the other side of the world?.. america isn't one of the richest countries in the world. since the military has been like a sponge to our economy, we've got no money to spend elsewhere...
Work with the UNO and get these people Earthboxes, then they can grow their own crops with minimal water! Let's help them to grow their own crops and thus feed themsleves. Give a man a fish he goes hungry, teach a man to fish and he thrives!
Real challenge is to stop the civil war in Sudan, so that they can actually move to where they have water access. Denial of water is active weapon of one conflict party. Next real challenge is to fight ignorance in the world.
Teach yourself. It´s a shame you did not even notice the conflict there. These are civilians. If you are unlucky to be born in that area of the world, you have the choice between being massacred or restrain yourself to areas where water is a problem. Some do fight though (if they can, without weapon), but didn´t you complain about them fighting in another post?!
lol why in the hell would you start talking to him in english if you know he doesn't understand? lol hes so amazed by the technology and your white skin(no disrespect). i was in sudan this past march i wish i could stay longer,i didn't go down south though i stayed in khartoum the whole time(i can't handle the heat).
It might not be a simple life...but at least in America you have a chance. LIfe period isn't simple. In 3rd world country you have hardly no one fighting for you. Here we have government programs, organizations, and people that are willing to lend a helping hand because we can spare that. Its very sad that larger 1st world country take advantage of countries, like Sudan, natural resources and then gives nothing back to the people and country's economy.
what i meant was, as i see it, the more easier life becomes for people in some ways, different complications always arise in other ways. just as an example, we have very fast, easy access to information these days through computers and high speed internet which adds to the quality of our life, but it has had consequences as well. it has changed the fabrics of society, family, and our interactions with people. which "could" be seen as a complication.
Life is easier here because of our government system that consolidates power and builds infrastructure. If USA were broken down into small fighting tribes, we would not have what we have.
I mean no disrespect to the Africans, but sadly Africa has long been a bloodbath with warring factions and tribalism. Africa has great natural resources (inc people), the equal of anywhere, what the people of Africa need is stable governments in their individual countries and less reliance on ethnic division.
I am a kenyan born girl and I have to say this is the best comment on here and totally agree with you on that.Tribalism nearlly reaped kenya apart just recently fighting and killing each other for no reason a major shock to the world I myself couldn't believe that our pple could come to that level. If our leaders could stop their greed we could have a lovely continent called UNITED AFRICA thx 4 ur comment though good to see some positive ones peace
Thank you Wairi, sadly many people misconstrue what I say here on occasion. They think I mean to denigrate others when I am trying to extol harmony and co-operation within nations and between them.
BTW, my dad was in both Kenya and Libya many times in the fifties, he says he enjoyed both countries very much. I also have family in Ghana and spent some time in Morocco which I thought was a fun and pretty country.
Even though I am White, I consider Africa to be the Motherland of Man. Peace:-)
I think that it is a positive to not have to walk 20 miles daily to just get fresh water, but I agree with you, most Americans have become spoiled, including me, probably.
@odmazar "Americans" refers to the people of North and South America:) But indeed middle class people of westernized countries have it much easier than these Sudanese people.
