Is it really worth arguing about, people? I personally think Slash is an excellent guitarist, but when these "best ever" arguments are raised, it kinda defeats the purpose. Just listen to whom you like, appreciate the music or don't, and otherwise let it be. My favorites are David Gilmour (anything he plays, but esp. steel guitar on "High Hopes") and Roger McGuinn, whose 12 string Rickenbacker is phenominally awesome.

Izzy was the heart of GnR cuz he was Axl´s best friend and he wrote most of GnR songs includinbg some solos and when he left it was a shook to Axl and the rest of the band, in other words it was the begining of the death of GnR. @XGENBLOODSX Im starting out too...Besides practice, try to listen to how the chords you play sound! Playing off of guitar tabs on the internet isnt enough trust me...Most tabs of GnR songs are missing key notes that makes the record sound like a GnR record,

Practice hitting the notes using your index finger all the way to your pinky along the fretboard...Its how slash practiced when he was a lil kid (its in his book :D)
