Not a good performance of 1 of their best numbers. If you want to see how good it can be see the 1980 go at it at the Lyceum in London.
Maybe it needs a smaller venue to work, or maybe it needs kids playing it with nothing to lose & everything still to win, but this performance is off the pace & doesn`t have the ZAP that`s needed.
Agreed, so now it's time for the tribute bands to do so, but instead they all perform as U2 of the '90's and '00's. But they're actually doing the song reasonable justice here. Another time, another place in life.
@kcirdrab I saw them play it in Atlanta in 1984, and they kicked no end of ass. But you're right about this one: it's got more pathos than urgency. Probably wise: can't stay young forever.
You know I can listen to U2's newer stuff in a vaccum and think it's awfully good.
But then I listen to the really extraordinary stuff on those first 3 LPs and I realize that, sadly, U2 ran out of stuff to say a long, long time ago.
The late 1970s through the late 1980s were a pretty amazing time in music if you were listening to the right stuff. I doubt we'll ever see the equal of it again.
That drummer is amazing. Simply the greatest rock drummer of all time. This song is very hard to play technically on the drums and again show cases mullen jr's talent
hope this is played on U2 360.

Agreed. All things must pass & U2 lasted longer than most & gave a lot of good sounds.
By the be, nice cover of 'Things to Make & Do' on your channel - good little tune isn`t it ; )

This really works i tried it 1. Cover your mouth with your hand
2. Make a wish into it.
3.Close your hand (make it into a fist)
4. Hold you hand(the fist) to your heart for 5 seconds.
5.Send this to 3 more videos.
6. Tommorow will be the best day of your life

one of my favorite u2 songs, they didn´t play it on their south américa tour.

They should keep this as a staple for every concert like they did with 'I Will Follow' over the years...simply brilliant!

Edge really finds the shapes inside those scales...I so loved their cathartic energy from before they turned into a 'pop' group.

You don`t think that they`ve had anything to say worth hearing since "War"?

Watching this video, marvel at how powerfully Mullen Jr attacks that kit. Once again...greatest rock drummer of all time.
