1) You can argue all you like about the quality of the deck; the reality is that he went 7-1, not you. Placing the blame of his placement on the quality of the players at the event is a cop out.

2) People keep commenting on the extra deck, and how he didn't have, say, Goyo. Maybe he ran out of time? Maybe he didn't have Goyo, or that extra useful Syncro? Maybe he couldn't afford it, or trade for one in time. It doesn't mean he blatantly ignored it.

@UIevo The lack of Goyo is probably because of the triple Totem Dragon he had maindecked. I personally love it when decks like these top, because it means that the skill of the player was enough to compensate for the lack of money cards in the deck.

He has no reason not to run non-Dragon synchros. There WILL be that moment when you're like "I would've won if I had Goyo". People are so bad with Extra Decks when they run Solidarity. >_>

@RobotBowtie It would also hurt the totem dragons that were in my graveyard, they can't activate unless if all the monsters in the graveyard were dragons, be very very rare of an instance that itd be beneficial to use a non-dragon synchro, doesnt hurt being in the side deck though.

@Hotrod2693 Your extra deck isn't full. You could fill it with Goyo and stuff in case you have a situation where a Goyo would mean game but Iron Chain wouldn't. Winning is better than having a live Solidarity or Totem Dragon. Yes, it wouldn't be common, but it would still help.
