trust me, this is 10g. Flash powder is very powerfull and instable. The containing metals are very light, 1 gram of magnesium powder is quite a lot compared to Kalium powder.

BP is as stable as sugar unlike flash powder but consider this, to get the "BOOM" you'd get from FP, you would need a pretty thick-gauged container which would then make it lethal if it were anything other than cardboard. FP takes a lot of caution when mixing especially when static is in the air or you use metal tools. Once mixed, it'll last a few years in a safe container stashed away on the top shelf of your closet. Or safer yet, unmixed with each container at separate sides of the house:)

This stuff is violent. It burns so fast unlike black powder that it doesn't need a container like cardboard or pvc tubing to explode. The weight of the powder itself is enough to create a SuperNova type explosion and a BOOM as lous as the most powerful fireworks show. I use ping pong balls for safety and all it does if placed on the ground is leave a bald spot (no hole). Put a plastic recycle bin on top (or a toilet;) and it'll bust into a million pieces. KClO4 & aluminum 1200 mesh.

yes it does. Black powder will not explode by definition of detonation unless it is confined. The only way it could actually detonate is when it reaches its critical mass, which I believe to be around 500lbs.

Absolutely correct. Flash powder however, if made with dark pytrotechnic aluminum, has a critical mass of only about 2 grams. 5 grams makes a HELL of a big bang, even without containment.
