  • why theres no cb dipole antenna how tos on here need to find how to make a cb dipole antenna i end up finding dipole for ham alot of them what should i look for

  • Did you star in a movie called "Home Alone"?

  • Video was VERY well done, keep up the good work.

  • I ran a Windom in a "V" shape for a while, I originally put slack on the line because a bad storm was coming up... I had been running it flat top. Anyway, I had better SWR and sig reports with it in a "V" than in flat top.... go figure! And RG-8X is not that bad, you could do way worse!! Now lets go watch some videos from youtube user 'goathiker', hes always got good videos!

  • Just getting started, so please don't think I am questioning what you have done -- it looks really good. Could you run the coax to the eve-trough and then along it to the drop down point? I want to put up a dipole also maybe for 20M. 73.

  • Use ladder line - make your own.

  • not funny it works well done!

  • No, I'm not on 6m. I would like to eventually be able to operate on the band, but don't have the antenna. I need something small that I could discreetly put up and cheap or easy to make.

  • Grant, why not a 6 meter Halo or square? You can buy or roll your own. The other simple solution is a simple 1/2 wave wire dipole (appx. 9 1/2 feet long) The summer E season is here! Don't miss it! 73 de Mike KC2PLJ

  • @KJ4BNF Use a 6M loop if you are short on space. Check out Loop N More online!

  • @KJ4BNF Awesome video, I've never really gotten started in amateur radio but watching the video's online make me feel like it's all worth while. Wanted to do it years ago so maybe I need to get started. Nice to see another fellow South Carolinian doing it as well.

  • Are you on 6 meters at all? All you need is a loop or a dipole to get out during an opening.

  • I would like a slow walk through on just how to make a dipole antenna

  • I would google the topic. In a nutshell you have two wires of equal length terminated by a ceramic insulator, and a device to connect your coax and the two antenna wires in the center. The length of the wires depends on which band or bands you want to operate on.

  • @KJ4BNF

    Hello

If your dipole is face East & West is that the direction you are receiving and transmitting.Or would you be receiving & tranmitting from north & south

    Thanks

    TD

  • What kind of coax are you using?

  • I'm using RG-8X now, but would like to upgrade to something less lossy.

  • @KJ4BNF At HF frequencies the RG-8X is fine.

  • 73s from LA7YKA

  • good to see a new video keep on making more 73's kj4aqv

  • The antenna is 20m/40m. I would love to put an inverted V there, but there's no way to support the center of the antenna and the coax would drop down right in the center of the yard. If I turned it north and south it would work, but I already have a north and south facing dipole. Facing west there's almost no place to hang it in my yard. I will defiantly give it some thought and see if I can't hang it permanently.

    Thanks and Merry Christmas

  • love the temp antenna. It cracks out by the sound of it?

  • Looking at that huge tree why not put that dipole up as a Inverted Vee? I use a bow and arrow," Not a great idea if you have close neighbors" Sing shot couuld work.... But inverted vee antenna have worked very well for me over the years. What Band was that antenna for? Have a Great Christmas! 73 Jer
