I understand that you think I'm wrong, and that is why the new gyms are filled with empty headed Bosu ball fad followers like you. Back in my gramas day the belly shaker machines were the fad. Every household had a rubber flap connected to a motor that was supposed to SHAKE the belly off of you. it shook the money out, but not the fat. Then more recently- someone with 20,000 beach balls needed to get them out of the warehouse, and he got an idea!!! LOL
@Aheyne you are full of shit, steve has obviously been training for years and wouldnt expect someone to try this in there first session, it is just a demo of what hard work and dedication can do
it's exactly this kind of stupidity that encourages people who have never lifted a weight in their lives to stand on a Bosu ball and do overhead presses with 40 pound dumbells because some trainer told them to. This whole fitness craze is irresponsible, ill-informed, and downright ridiculous. YES it's cool to see that guy do his little trick... but it effects too many gym novices in the wrong way. It's a poor way for them to start their training.
I think you're wrong. Steve Cotter is a highly trained professional trainer, and this was taken from a much longer clip demonstrating the type of explosive power one can generate through a full range of motion. If anyone takes the extremes he is capable of and tries them as a beginner, more than likely deserve what they get. Sometimes you have to learn to fall before you learn to walk.
bosu ball teaches balances and works on your stabilizers, it is a pretty effective tool- as is most any common object laying around the house such as a chair- steps, a sofa, or a crack in the wall all effective tools for training.
Freaking a...this is both inspiring and devastating. Inspiring because watching him do that makes me want to go out and try it. Devastating because I can't do a simple set of squats on the BOSU without feeling like my tibia is going to rip in half lol.
There used to be a video on YouTube of him doing pistols jumping from a table to the ground and back (he did like 4 in a row without falling or dropping his leg -- it was SICK!!!) Does anyone know where to find that one?
Only dangerous to a person that doesn't know what they're doing. Cotter is an amazing athlete who can do a lot of things normal people wouldn't ever consider safe.
i dont think its a matter of knowing what you're doing. its bouncing and wobbling. one small slip and you're screwed. even if you can do it. my point is the risks outweigh the benefits of doing jumping splits between those balls.
Cotter is a mutant and well, it is dangerous. It is dangerous as well to fight in a ring. To run a marathon is dangerous. Diving is dangerous. Skydiving is dangerous too.
I like waht you said but ill go one further. He can do more amazing things that amazing athletes could only dream to do. He is one freak of a man there is no doubt.
Fucking crazy strength and balance!!!!
