  • Hmmm i miss this so much, haha but i remember how the Alto Saxophone solo ended up being a duet... it was still amazing. This song was so fun, but looking back on it, it was so easy... how these 3 years since 8th grade have went by!

  • Playing this in festival !owee cnt wait

  • this makes me miss 7th grade. This was one of our music festival pieces. :(

  • I'm impressed by the fact the French horns are actually loud enough to hear. My band has a lot of trouble pulling back enough to give the French horns some time in the spotlight ;)

  • @flyinginamoonlitsky Digital Interpretation.

  • My friend is playing this for band (cus she's special??? nobody else gets to :c) and I love to stop by and listen to it whenever she practices. <3

  • French horns \m/

  • This song was written for and commenced by my high school, since our mascot is the Thunderbird. We play this for our graduates right after the principal announces the graduating class, and as the graduates leave the ceremony. For the times that I've played it, this gives me goosebumps EVERY time. This is definitely one of the best songs for a school band.

  • I played this in 7th grade as a bass clarinet. I miss 7th grade now. :(

  • playing this song for marching band this year. the tenor sax part is just awesome :D

  • i dont know why but this Takes me back to Ace combat 4

    I miss it so much

    thanks for posting it ^^

  • oh i hear you french horns! :)

  • @SAmmyMEEstah827 French horns ftw?

  • oh i hear you french horns!

  • In actuality, if I do remember, this is the theme of the Blue Angels, a stunt plane group back then that used to do flight shows at sports games or air shows. Of course, one day, during their flight, disaster struck, and the remaining members of the Blue Angels that weren't caught in the plane accident left the group, and thus it ceased to exist. Often, when the Blue Angels flew, this song would be played. Nowadays, when certain stunt planes fly, Flight of the Thunderbird plays in commemoration.

  • what grade level difficulty is this song?

  • @tpain1313 its high school, but im at tioga junior high and we're playing it...im a percussionist and i play the snare part

  • @tpain1313 there isn’t a grade difficulty, it depends on which part you play, where ever ive heard or played this, its been a symphonic level band to play it

  • @tpain1313 I think the overall is a Grade 2.

  • @Zoroark7 thanks

  • @tpain1313 You're welcome.

  • Does this remind anyone else of Super Mario Galaxy?

  • @TyloNary Sort of, but only in certain areas, probably not in the sax + trumpet solo, that would definitely not be Super Mario Galaxy, but otherwise, yes, this might seem as a reminder of the game.

  • oh wow, me and my grade7 band at my school are playing this for our next concert.

  • What instrument plays that solo at 1:20-1:38 is that an alto sax?

  • @piplup10203854 I believe that is, and if so would anyone have the sheet music for this song

  • @piplup10203854 Yes.

  • Most awesome piece to play in band.

  • I love this song.. Im in sevetnh grade band at school and we started learning it today its hard but i hope it turns out great when we play it at a show:>

  • @smgx55 ikr?!

its basically all us at 2:20 (with the f horn, sadly)

  • @cljjenterprises what do u mean sadly? the F horn is awsome

  • @eman77771 I didn't mean it in a bad way. I was just saying that for once, my section actually had some glory of its own, until I realized that the F horn was playing with us too, and that we had to share the spotlight *sigh*

but now I'm the only bassoon, so I get lots of solos! :D

  • @cljjenterprises oh ok lol. i play first part horn in brick street encounter lol and i have a small solo lol

  • beautiful song :)

    XD

  • damn wrong video

  • To the hell with Georgia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gah college fight songs make this look like old mcdonald.

  • haha we're playing this song. i love it:)

  • Back in Back in 05 when i was in seventh grade, we played this song for the advanced middle school band, then my senior year, which was only this last year, the advanced band played it again, it made me go back to when i was only 12 years old compared to 18, when i was a kid with a trombone, not a budding musician with a carrer in the works. It was one of the most bitter sweet things i have ever experienced. This song will ALWAYS be a great memory.

  • Damn french horns! Play LOUDER!

  • @shikonookami Uh...this is a professional ensemble...with professional musicians. I think they know what they're doing. Dumb ass...

  • @girolle01 Uh... music is expression and emotion, not simple facts. There is no exact right or wrong except notes and rhythms. Dumb ass...

  • @shikonookami Uh, I'm pretty sure Saucedo wants what he composed played...the way he composed it. If I'm wrong, I'll stand corrected, but I'm correct. Okay...

And right or wrong? I don't think the horns need to be blaring to the point of unbalancing the ensemble!

Have you ever taken music theory courses? It take it no...

  • @girolle01 Well he wrote it FORTISSISSIMO. Translate to English= Really freaking loud. And also, they're not unbalancing the ensemble when they're the ONLY ONES PLAYING AT THE TIME. I am DAMN proud of the fact that the first time I played that part in school band (I'd played it before at band camp) the second horn asked me if I was trying to make him deaf.

  • @shikonookami I'm not going to argue with you about this when you obviously have no idea of what you're talking about...because I'm not going to listen to that ignorant-ass shit that comes out of your mouth, and I'm already getting sick of it. You best believe it...

    Like I said...I'm correct.

  • @girolle01 Like I said, you're ignorant. It is not possible for an opinion to be correct.

  • @shikonookami Like I said, I'm tired of reading that ignorant-ass shit you're typing. My opinions are fact...

  • @shikonookami I don't give opinions, sir. I state facts... And besides, I'm almost positive I've been classically trained longer than you, if you can even say you have.

  • I had a rookie sax play the solo just as good as this recording. one of the proudest moments in my life.

  • I played this song back in 8th grade symphonic band and now in my second year of college. LOVE IT, brings back good memories as well.

  • hehe my skool's honors band from last year played this

  • Probably one of the best pieces I ever played. I played this my senior year...I'm a junior in college now, and I'm about to pick up the flute again for band. Me + my flute = unstoppable!

  • lmao i go to the school district it was written for, our mascot is the thunderbird

  • i remember playing 1st clarinet for this song in 7th grade. thanks for posting!
