When I lay my (cheaper) smartphone next to this POS I realize the immense scam involved here. I have a graphing calculator in my phone that does everything this does and more, while multitasking to boot. One of these days consumers are going to catch on to this ponzi scheme of immense proportions and price fixing.
@AnontheOP I totally agree I hate having this huge calculator that is hard to use when my iPod touch is better looking and easier to use or even a tablet, but old people are resistant to change so the college board still hasn't laid the ground work for a acceptable tablet.
@Cicinoboston Get the CAS its about the same price and is far more useful for solving equations. Although if you plan on taking a standardized (SAT/ACT) test make sure the CAS is accepted.
@AnontheOP The only reason I bought this calculator was because they don't let us use iPods, iPads, and Computers in class. Otherwise, I'd be using these devices of mine to do my math work.
Hey I'm sorry I just saw your comment. One of the ones I found is called Algeo. It's a pretty nice Android graphing calc. There are some FAR better programs for windows too though.
Does your screen flicker when it is dimmed? It is the slightest dim and you have to have good close eyesight to notice it, have u noticed anything like this?
hey can anybody tell me if it is better to purchase this or the inspire with touchpad? i'm doing IB so no CAS model for me, just asking if there are new functions or whatever on this (I've read bad reviews about it tho... could be trolls)
@1036gmoney after you do the division problem, click enter to get the other fraction. Then click menu, select number, then convert to decimal. After you select that, click enter and should get the answer
I need help please; If I were to write in Scratchpad mode, (Or any mode) , calculate, then type in : solve(5x+bx+5,x) it tells me, "Unsupported function, This system requires Computer Algebra System. Try TI-Nspire CAS. I can't find these ANYWHERE. Can I download this software/program onto this Calculator? Thnx :)
@akimboist Unfortunately, your calculator does not support symbolic solving. You're going to need to buy a calculator that has "CAS" in the name (for TI calculators).
Please answer I have a calculator like this for math and whenever I type something in to divide it just shows up as a fraction on the other side please help
@1036gmoney i know exactly what your asking!!! LOL TOOK ME FOREVER, but there is an instruction booklet for those kinds of things lol. make your fraction on the screen(ready to be solved) then instead of pressing enter press [2nd] then [Enter] and it should give you the decimal/exact value, have more questions just ask
@1036gmoney yeah, that's fine. it shows up as a fraction. most people prefer to work in fractions, not in decimals. it's definitely just a setting you can turn off if you look hard enough.
@1036gmoney You can press control before pressing = and it will force a decimal answer. That's just one way to do it, there's other ways. I just got one today and I read the manuals.
what do you expect for picture quality. Remember it's a "calculator" they're not judged by pixels there classified by what functions and operations they can do. So how about you review how the calculator actually works not how it looks when you first turn it on.
@cnofootage Texas Instruments made a huge deal about the picture quality and color screen that's why I reviewed that...The calculator itself is awesome and would recommend it over any other TI graphing calc
@matt1888a ok I didn't know that, but anyway do you know if this calculator would replace a Ti-84 and TI-89. I'm pretty sure it would but I just want to be 100%.
@cnofootage Well from what I have read online the TI-Nspire line of calculators does everything that a TI-84 and 89 does, but you may want to do some Google searches before you commit. Nspire is basically for people who grew up with computers the interface is far better than an 89 or 84.
@matt1888a sounds good... I have already done some research and have grown up with computers so it sounds like a good choice. I have bought it but still haven't opened. Thanks for your help.
@Volandrex22x Yes I would use this over any TI-83,84 or whatever they are using in high school, just make sure your teacher is okay with it on tests. The Nspire is more geared toward people who have used computers all their lives so it will be easier for you.
@JKNProductions1212 First unboxing was unsure of what to say...just wanted to show people what was in the box since no one else had an unboxing up at the time. For a good review I recommend TechPoweredMath
Yep, 2006. That's when this should have been released. But hey, they have a monopoly in this market. Why bother with new technology when they can still churn out old technology and make triple the profit?
@Einhander49 yeah, i wondered about that in HS when we used to steal the ti 83's. If casio or sony or whoever makes computer parts had school contracts too there would be some awesome high tech stuff to choose from instead of TI.
@Sidowse Yup, i already bought it, im getting it in a week, if the timing of UPS is correct! hehehe! damn i cant wait! it's actually my first TI! i used casio before but TI seems to rock!
@sepehrseb I saw the casio fx-CG10/20 and thought I wanted it but in checking the competition I found the TI-Nspire CX CAS which is so much better for only £30 more. I think the Casio would be fine for people still in school though as it seems easier to use if slightly limited.
Hi I have some questions :
Is the T-Nspire CX CAS so long everytime u put it on ?
What is the difference between the T-Nspire CX CAS and the T-Nspire CX ? (except the color)
Is the CX CAS easy to use ?

you can also just include a decimal in one number (for instance 100 would be 100.).

Exactly, someone else needs to come in the Graphing Calc market. TI is very outdated from their website to everything really.
