I say this as a hospice chaplain. This video missed the mark in presenting the spirit of what Hospice is and how it can help. Your approach I am certain did more harm than good. What else can I say? Over 1000 people watched it. I hope they look other places for understanding.
I agree with your comment COMPLETELY. I am currently on in-home hospice care (I also spent time in a hospice facility, as well, prior to going back to in-home hospice.)
I, too, feel this video did more harm than good (Did it do any good?). It almost had a 'horror-movie' type feeling to it. --very negative.
Hospice is about care, giving comfort and relief from pain and suffering, about helping those who are terminally ill and so much more. This video missed everything!
I am amazed that I am the 4th one to commment on this video, it is truly a Satanic honor (for those who have read "The Satanic Rituals" book by Anton Szandor Lavey R.I.P.). I must say that this is a very interesting topic however, my feelings are that of respect for people's destiny after all we are and always have been God! Shemhamforash! Hail Satan!
People are so goddamned stupid it makes me want to puke. If every minute I was awake I was suffering, please put me to sleep ! I hope those that put this man in jail get cancer of the genitals and suffer horrible pain !
The point of the video is that there is an option to mercy killing. If those patients were educated about hospice care, they could have died a dignified death on their own terms without having to resort to assisted suicide. The message isn't that Dr. Kevorkian was wrong, just that there are options now for a dignified death.
IS Kevork still alive?
