The Revolution uses AA batteries. I've only used 2 sets of batteries in over a year. I've never had a problem with the Revolution. I love this portable record player !!! I always take it on digs with me.
@skunkmouse Ooops I just replied but it's not linked to your comment. You can see it if you return to my video and look at the comments comments. My bad.
Tasrdy to the Party but no less impressed. What a great little unit. The even of DFW create digging without question. Seems they've dropped a bit in price since you picked this up I'm in for one ;-)
@Paspiedreamcast It's best to buy the cleanest records you can find. You can't clean all the dirt off a record even with a record cleaning machine. And yes, I still clean the records after I buy them. This little record player has saved me from buying bad records many times.
@MrReed401 Yes you can convert LPs and 45s to mp3s with the Crosley Revolution. FYI No "s" to plural vinyl. BTW mine is still working great and I use it often.
@shutdownthefed Yes, you can do that. The Crosley has a built in pre amp so you don't need a phono input on your stereo. Just plug it into a tape, VCR, DVD etc. input.
@force311999: Emerson put out something similar called the Wondergram in the early 1960s, so the basic concept behind the A-T Sound Burger ain't exactly theirs...
I'm back from the Austin Record Convention and want to report that the Crosley Revolution TT worked great. It got a lot of attention everytime I set it up. All the folks using the Numark will be using one of these next year......
I attached a guitar strap (with a carabiner hook) to the carry strap to carry it around the record show. This freed up both hands to dig the crates...lol.
BTW I'm still on the original set of batteries too. This thing rocks. Look for prices to fall.
@triclops9 There's only one speaker on the unit. With something this small stereo speakers would be useless. Sound wise it sounds as good as could be expected on something this small.
Things in general seem to be styled better back in the day. For me, this is all about function. I see custom paint, stickers and who knows what on it in the future. It's going to be as unique as the crackles and pops on my records. Not that I like noise on my records but they're my noises and this is my TT. The last thing I want is it to be a look-a-like. I'm really diggin' this thing.
The AT has no FM tech and no USB so you gotta give Crosley props.
@punktexas great post, and your spot on its an up to date soundburger, ill definately be getting one, nothing better for crate digging and garage sales as you say, used my orig soundburger for more than 20yrs and found untold gems that i wouldnt have known otherwise, sold it some years back for £200 and could have hung on for more, not bad for an initial outlay of £3 from my local segunda
I was emailing the ceo in charge of production at Audio Technica about 4 years ago, trying to encourage them to bring back the Soundburger. He liked the idea and emails shot back and forth for awhile until the higher ups at AT said no. Now here we are down the road and CROSLEY's got it now. Personally I think the AT units look much better. The styling is rather plain looking, and that Crosley logo is as hideous as the Peavey logo is on their amplifiers.
@mikeinportsri Your gonna have a hard time finding one of these used as they where just released this week?? If there's a smaller, lighter and better portable out there lets us know.
@punktexas that unit looks ridgid and heavy, if it works well for use at garage sale to see if a record plays well, great. But what I meant was to depend on a Crosley for every day use I do not like them. But thats just my opinion, I've had bad experiances and not just once but twice. The quality just is not there.
Crosley is bringing back the retro look with modern equipment. Some of the stuff is very eye catching and seems to work very well. Thanks for the video.

@punktexas Thanks. I have it bookmarked now!

Surely you would want to clean the record once you got home after a car boot sale; it will be really dirty before that anyway.

That is an interesting use for one of those... You never know what a record sounds like until you play no matter what it look like. :) JC

can I just use the crosley to play the record and use my good stereo speakers? or do i have to use the shit ones built into it?

How does the Crosley compare to the Numark in terms of sound quality?
AnalogRocker 1 year ago
@AnalogRocker Do you mean how the onboard speaker sounds?
I'll do a follow up vid. and compare the two units.

@punktexas I mean when connected to a stereo using the line-out on the units. Which unit sounds better?

Not very happy with the Crosley record players. Not much to choose from these days. I would buy second hand, parts are readily available online.
