Nice one Troy! I'm happy to see you doing well after your treatments. Its also great to see you posting new videos, and you look like you had a blast playing along with this tune. Oh, and congratz on the 2nd Geddy.
Bloody fabulous as always Troy! Damn but I wish I had your experience and knowledge. Great news about your recovery. Let's hope the big C leaves you alone. I know people who've battled cancer and I know chemo is a b***ard of a thing to endure. Sending positive thoughts and energy your way.
Thank you very much. Fortunately for me, I didn't have chemo, just the radiation which was fine with me. Chemo would have made it much worse a process than it was and I couldn't imagine that.
Troy, just got a chance to hear this as we just got full Internet service here in the mountains. Fantastic! Even more fantastic is your recovery. I see you've lost weight but that'll come back. So good to hear you playing again my friend!
Thanks a lot Ron. I've yet to put one pound back on but I'm not in any rush to gain it all back. I'm thinner than I've ever been in my life but never lost so much weight that my doctors considered installing a feeding port. After being so uncomfortable for so long and eating so little during that period I don't see food the same way I did before.
So good to see you playing again ! :) Another superb cover, loving the black Geddy. I've been watching your covers for a long time now (in particular, the Rush and Tull covers) and you continue to inspire my own playing on a daily basis, thank you! Very happy to hear of your improving health Troy and wish you a full and speedy recovery !!
Thank you. Thyroid cancer is a good cancer to get (if you have to get cancer that is). I hope her prognosis is good and that she lives a long and healthy life.
Wow the black bass is. Bad. Ass. It fits with the song lol. It's good to hear you're recovering! Cancer is a running problem in my familly, I wish you all the best!
My doctors give it a 20% chance of returning which is pretty good in the world of cancer. If it does return, they cannot do radiation again. You only get one shot with radiation in the throat.
You nailed it, sorry to hear you have been sick hope your recovery is quick and that you are good to go. Thanks for all of your videos, very inspiring.
Very sorry to hear about your unfortunate situation. I'm a bass player myself and I've watched and learned from your covers for quite some time. You've got that perfect Geddy Lee sound, which is really something special. May Peart, Dirk, and Lerxt be with you.
I picked up Rush's Time Machine Tour Blu-Ray the other day, haven't watched it yet though. Have you seen it or seen them live while they were touring recently? Great playing as usual, I really hope your treatments go well. Keep it up man.
We saw them twice on the tour. Both shows were great but one was definitely better than the other. I got the dvd a couple of weeks ago and it's sitting on my kitchen counter still. Just haven't found the time to watch it yet. The couple of clips I've heard on YouTube sounded incredible. Great bass sound (much better than it sounded live). Thanks a lot for the well wished, I appreciate it.
And I also listened to Pat Travers for the first time this weekend since I got Makes No Difference free as a floppy single back in 76! Coincidence or what! :)
Great playing! and well wishes.I have seen Mars play couple of times many years ago.and no Bass player should not now of him still in top 5 for me.apparently Jaco thought he was great too
Thank you so much. Mars is a terribly under rated player. He could play really fast and with a lot of power. It sounded like he really beat on the bass.
Glad to see you back Troy! I was thinking about sending you a comment to see how you were doing, but you beat me to it by posting a video. I hope things are going well.
Didn't know that song, and not that bass player...Thks for sharing ! Btw,your ears are good...and thks God your back on track of our great world as bass players...Great playing Troy !!!
You always play like a boss! Great job. You got that great Fender Jazz bass kicking butt now and taking names later and everything. That bass sounds awesome! Your amp isn't a joke either. LOL! Keep up the good work. Still digging that traditional skeleton mask behind your shoulder.
Thanks for the awesome comment. Actually, the fellow who sculpted that, Jeff Death, is sort of well known for his skeleton work. From what I understand, they're pretty difficult to sculpt well.
Very well done, Sir. Mars Cowling played some great bass lines with Pat Travers and you did him justice with this one. I wish you well in your battle with cancer. I'm off to view your Aqualung bass cover now. That is another one of my favorites.
Trooooooooooooooooooooy! Back in the saddle dude, great sound on that GL Bass. I wouldn't change the set up at all man. Good to see you rockin out and great playing.
