Hovie never owned Palmetto State. He simply performed with them some in his later days. He & both Jack Pittman & Jack Bagwell were long-time friends.

@ShallCatsAdore I know he was the founder/owner of the Statesman quartet and several others in his ministry so it's possible he owned this quartet at the time this was recorded. Maybe he was between quartets.
